Let me just say... their cornbread. So good. I was visiting on a work trip and I loved my experience at the restaurant so much I returned the next day with a friend also in town for work. The cornbread is like a dessert even if it's meant to be an appetizer. Now every time I come into town, even if I don't eat at the restaurant, I order at least two cornbreads to take home with me. I will say one time they did burn it and I hadn't realized it til I was already well on my way back to the west side. The most recent time I went about 3 weeks ago the cornbread was not burnt, but I feel like it wasn't AS good as I recalled the other 4 times I went to the restaurant. Next time I'm in the area, I'll opt to eat in the restaurant and enjoy it fresh! Every time I've been, I have had great service. The staff is always kind even if they're slammed! The first time I went I chatted with the bartender since I was alone and sat at the bar. They also have really great drinks! Finally, their bathrooms are nicely decorated! Definitely have recommended this place to many!

Although it was obvious they do fry the hush puppies and fish in the same oil. The honey corn bread was burned and tasted of burnt oil. It was oily and had a strange taste and was overwhelmingly sweet. (You'll find that burnt is a common theme.) My Cajun burger was good but the buns were burned. The meat was juicy and had a nice flavour. The fries were seasoned well and were crispy while being soft on the inside. The pork ribs were decent. The sauce was nice. They weren't fall of the bone tender, but still tender enough. The coleslaw on the side was very sour and spicy. It was more like spicy sauerkraut rather than coleslaw. The seafood boil was underwhelming small especially for the price. The shrimp were overcooked. The clams were very small. The muscles still had beards. The potatoes and corn were cooked nicely. It needed more salt and sauce. The sweet teas came unsweetened and while it did came with sugar on the side - the grains were too big to actually stir in. And I would like the mentioned that my cup of water had black specks floating around in it. All in all - I wouldn't return.

My route brings me to our south hill office basically at lunchtime, everytime I get to our office Gena's parking lot is just packed, patrons cars parked along the curb both sides of the street and some are parking at the strip mall and walking over. One day I arrived early and only one car aside from my company vehicle were in their lot.
