Indicana is doing it right. The fusion of Indian and Mexican flavors is perfectly balanced, with creativity and freshness ruling the day. I love encountering so many menu options where I think, "oh, I need to try that one, I haven't seen that on a menu before." I could have chosen from six different options that would have been totally new-to-me fusions-- the menu definitely left me convicted that I have to come back soon to try out the dishes I didn't choose! I got the quinoa stuffed poblano pepper, with black beans, corn, cheese, pickled red onion, and more. I could only eat half- it was filling, warming, and had that fantastic whisper of peppery heat at the end of every other bite. I absolutely loved it. And, side note, the naan? Perfect. Buttery crisp and soft as summer days on the inside. Delicious, The ambiance is fun, and the staff was as warm as the poblano pepper. The only knock I left with is that the menu is pricey-- this couldn't be a spontaneous lunch or dinner grab, Indicana needs to be a budgeted choice. But the food was worth it, and we will go back again. read more

Chef Noreen Hiskey leads this Mexican x Indian everyday fiesta located slightly uphill from the Thursday Market in Spokane's South Perry District. Heather is a recent Californian import but welcoming and enthusiastic, recommending the Achiote Marinated Apollo Asado. The Mexican influence is dominant in this dish, only a faint scent of saffron/tumeric in the accompanying rice - a dash of salt & curry would deepen flavors that are otherwise fundamentally hearty and good. It was lovely to relax on a flower-laden patio - also good for cold drinks and hot summers. Chef Hiskey's talent really shines with dessert - the Lassi Panna Cotta consists of a firm vanilla bean custard that's buttery & barely sweet, layered with syrupy mango lassi, crushed pistachio & rose petals - an elegant and refreshing summer treat! It's time for our annual trip to Spokane for my wife's immersion and if you follow my reviews at all, you know that my job on vacation is to coordinate the food. After a recommendation from one of my wife's classmates, I took myself on a lunch date to Indicana, and I'm honestly convinced that Spokane is a foodie dream after this meal. I have been wanting to try Indicana for lunch all week, but they only serve lunch on specific days. I did a walk-in at lunch and did not need a reservation (however I cannot say the same for dinner, we went back this evening so that my wife could try the mango lassi and people were piling in). The restaurant is stunning with warm hues of earth tones and deep, rich dark blue that pulls it all together. The music is loud enough that you can hear it, but light enough that you can still hear yourself talk, which I appreciated. Every member of staff I encountered was incredibly kind and I think I ended up sitting next to the owner or a manager who was at the bar near my table - she was so sweet and had no problem jumping in to help when needed. The lunch menu and dinner menu differ, so it's important to note if you're interested in trying anything from my review. I ordered the Pork Vindaloo tacos with naan, tandoori slaw with a side of jeera rice and dal along with a Mango lassi. Everything, and I do mean everything was delicious.   Pork Vindaloo Tacos on Naan - 10/10 every single bite was flavorful. The naan had a crispy yet softness to it, the pork vindaloo created a juice that brought together all of the flavors and then I followed it up with a bite of tandoor slaw, and it was so good. The cheese did not overpower the meal and really sealed it all together. Jeera Rice and Dal - 8/10 I wanted a bit more flavor in the Dal, but with this being my first experience with Dal, I'm not sure how flavorful it should have been. Overall, it was still delicious and fresh. I found myself taking bites of it and the jeera rice between bites of the tacos. The entire meal was very filling, but not in an overly full kind of way. Mango Lassi - 11/10 and I mean it! You should know I mean it because I my wife and I came back later in the evening (as I mentioned above) to get more. It is velvety smooth with a hint of warmth after each sip. The taste is absolutely delicious and so refreshing. I can understand why Indicana is so busy, and the reservations are needed. This will definitely be added to our Spokane list of places to visit and recommend. read more

My husband and I recently went here for our 23 year anniversary. This was our first time here and we were excited to try their fusion. To start we booked a reservation so we could arrive during a time that worked for us. When we arrived at our reservation time we were instantly greeted by Jacob. He was friendly, warm, and really helpful with explaining the menu. The restaurant inside was intimate, but they shared they also had a patio. We had researched the menu before our reservation so we knew exactly what we wanted. We ordered the Pollo Asado, the Mango Chicken Enchiladas, and the Curry Rip and Dip for appetizer. To start, the Curry Rip and Dip was OUTSTANDING!!! The curry was rich, creamy, and had a hint of sweetness. The flaky flatbread parathas were were light, buttery, and paired well with the curry dip. I wish there was a dish that was bathed in this curry sauce. So good. The Pollo Asado was freshly grilled and came with a fresh corn salad and a bright cilantro sauce. The rice was fluffy and the lime brought everything to life! The Mango Enchiladas were saucy and filled with chicken. The cabbage slaw provides freshness and crunch, and the plate came with a generous helping. This was such a great experience overal. We cant wait to come back and try other items, but we will be sure to always order the Curry Rip and Dip! read more

Indicana, voted Best New Restaurant by the Inlander for 2025, is a thoughtful Indian-Mexican fusion spot that manages to highlight both cuisines without letting one overpower the other. This teeters between a 4 and 5 for me, but didn't get to try enough to truly decide. We stopped in for happy hour while eating our way through Spokane and ordered three dishes: the Three Amigos, crispy cauliflower, and potato taquitos. The taquitos were our favorite -- crispy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned -- though the cauliflower was a close second. The tamarind pico from the Three Amigos added such a nice sweet-tart twist. The guac was my least favorite, a bit one-note compared to the punchy flavors elsewhere, but still fresh. I love that everything is clearly labeled for dietary restrictions, and though I skipped cocktails this visit (a bit alcoholed out!), the rotating margarita flavors definitely caught my eye... I'll be back for one. read more

Food and ambiance great for a date night. They could expand the menu, but what they do is excellent.

I'll keep this short and sweet. The restaurant was beautiful, the staff was kind, the drinks were delicious, and the food was so good that I forgot to take a photo of my Chorizo Kebab Tacos. We're lucky to have this place in Spokane. read more

Service: amazing! We tried out sitting on the patio tonight and enjoyed. From our host to our food runners to our waitress, the staff was kind and provided great service ! Cocktails: Great! Very strong, fairly unique menu Food: Mango enchiladas: I tried some of my friend's and I really enjoyed, I think if I went back I would order that! Pollo Asado: the rice was perfect, I wanted the chicken to maybe have a little more seasoning or a dash of salt but it was really really good! Cooked well. Corn was good. Curry rip and dip: dare I say just okay? I wanted to love, and I do love the concept but something didn't work for me personally. I think I was envisioning a much more smoother curry, and it's more chunkier. I ate it all but probably wouldn't order again. I loved the paratha! Three amigos: the queso stole the show! I especially enjoyed the pico and the guac personally and found the guac to be exactly what I was expecting and the pico to be a tasty twist on a favorite of mine. Overall: great! Really cool restaurant menu concept, some of the dishes I really loved and I left full and very pleased with my experience read more

It's easy to see why Indicana was voted top new restaurant this year: welcoming service , great drink options , interesting , delicious and different menu items. We had the curry "rip and dip " starter, with our excellent cocktails . I chose the Viceroy Old Fashioned served with one giant ice cube and my husband had a classic margarita without salt. The appetizer was spicy and complex which set us up for our entree of Salmon Rojo ( 8 oz portion) which we split. Enough for us but next time we will save room for the Tres Leches dessert which was recommended. I liked everything about the place - attentive servers , decent prices, nice patio , quiet music ---even gorgeous wallpaper in the restroom! read more

It's fun and different. The quality of the food is good. Preparation and presentation are solid. I developed a preference for a dish after 1 visit and then it was gone when I returned. I was a little disappointed. I don't have such strong remembrances of my last meal there but the ambiance and cocktails were very nice. It's not just Indian or Mexican. Definitely a fusion so I'd you like both cuisines but you're a little bored and looking for something different try Indicana read more

So delicious!! Came in for lunch and ordered the cauliflower burrito with curry sauce on top and it was very satisfying and tasty. Genius to blend Indian flavors with Mexican presentation, I WILL be using naan as taco shells in the future. Such friendly service as well. We've been wanting to try this newer place in the Perry District. The ambiance is chic, warm and inviting. We were lucky to find a nice table inside on a hot afternoon during the Thursday market, as it seems reservations are, at the very least, encouraged. Our server was pleasant. We enjoyed the food and found the flavor combinations unique and flavorful. Hope to return and check out the patio. read more

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful! Great to have in Spokane. Wonderful food, service, and ambience. The only reason it's not a 5 star is that Spokane really needs local and ethically sourced food in restaurants. I'd happily argument my review if this changes read more

Fantastic addition to Perry St! Unique, fresh, diet restriction friendly. Incredible staff and delicious flavor combos. Make reservations!

Delicious! Save room for the to-die-for tres leches cake. Unlike the traditional version, this one is not overly sweet, not overly milky and is perfectly chai spiced. read more

We were in Spokane for the weekend and after reviewing their menu, we had to stop by. The decor and artwork is stunning and they have a nice, shaded area outside to sit which was perfect for us after a long drive. We had a hard time deciding because everything looked so good. We shared the taquitos and it was amazing. I had the cauliflower bowel and my husband had one of their burritos. Both lunch portions were huge and wonderful. We had great service and we highly recommend going to this unique restaurant. read more

Excited to try this Mexican-Indian fusion. The Viceroy Old Fashion was incredibly small for the price, but delicious. The Jarritos Especial was a yummy drink as well. The Three Amigos appetizer was so fun! The queso and guacamole were especially tasty. I've never enjoyed guacamole as much as this...so fresh tasting with unusual spice! The mango enchiladas were delicious also. Two of us ordered the steak and batatas. The steak was overcooked and just ok. Only thing we didn't enjoy. Overall though very enjoyable evening. read more

We arrived around 4:00 PM for an early dinner. Seated immediately, displacing a small staff meeting which they were gracious about. Split 3 small plates and 3 dinners between 4, just the right amount. The food was excellent and interesting. Will definitely return! read more

Nice place. Great menu. We went for my birthday. They were very nice with good service and servers. Prices were what one would expect.

What a great place. The food is unique and so delicious! They have the best chai I have had in a long time. We had the three amigos and loved all of them. we also had the crispy cauliflower, which could've been crispier. But the flavor was amazing. We had the butternut squash soup, which is a - amazing! A flavor was Crable. After all of that we were full, but we had already ordered a main dish so we topped off the night with steak and batatas. The steak was perfectly cooked and seasoned! This was a fantastic experience. I would recommend getting reservations before you go. Try ordering outside the box it's fun outside the box. read more

Love the decors! Great cocktails! The foods were ok, not a lot of notes mostly hot peppers and salty! The service is ok. She have great sense of urgency but no attempt to make any connection with customers, hard to justify why we would go the extra miles to leave more then 18% tips. read more

Totally awesome. My partner and I both had salads, hers a wedge salad, mine a spring salad. We both appreciated how unique the salad dressings contributed to the overall experience. It's pretty good. Actually, if you change your expectations, it's really good. But as for a "New Mexican Cuisine/Indian" fusion kind of restaurant, it falls sadly short. We ordered the Pollo Asado and the Steak. The chicken was well cooked but rather bland for a restaurant that should be delivering food that is full of great spice and should be somewhat spicy. The chicken's side was a potato/spinach blend that had some earthy tones but otherwise underwhelming. The steak was really well cooked. They nailed it. The potatoes, like most things that came out, were underwhelming. They had so much potential. The story continued with the beans. They were good. Not great. When you think of Mexican or Indian food you think about flavor! We left wanting more. So it's good. The vibe is solid. My favorite part - and be prepared - the food comes out slowly but the servers were awesome. So like with the food, go in having realistic expectations about the timeline. You'll be here a while. Plan on ordering an app, having some good conversation, and some food that you won't complain about...it just might not have you coming back a second time. read more

HIGHLY highly recommend Indicana in Perry District. Its is a Mexican Indian fusion restaurant and everything was amazing. Sorry I didn't take pictures because I dont usually take pictures of food, but it was just that amazing that I needed to share my review. I went with a friend and we ordered the taquitos de papa chaat, the achiote marinated pollo asado, and the mango chicken enchiladas. Then there was a mess up in the kitchen so we ended up getting another order of the taquitos. Ok. The taquitos.... FULL DISCLOSURE. I cant get it out of my head. Its fried tortilla shell, the perfectly seasoned potatoes inside. The fresh tomatoes for a perfect combination between cooked and uncooked. Im full on addicted and im going back tonight to get another order bc Im addicted. (I hope the kitchen messes up again so I can get another order!! Jk!) For drinks I ordered the mango mojito and lychee martini. Both were great, but the lychee martini was absolutely refreshing. Then we fell for it even though we were stuffed and couldn't eat anymore-- we ordered dessert. We had the Lassi Panni Cotti and it was this curd dessert with peanuts... girrrrrrlllllll SOO GOOD. Spokane, dont skip this spot. This place needs to stay!!! Its perfect for a night out, catching up with friends, or date night. You can make reservations or sit at the bar, where it sits approximately 5 people. Cheers! read more

Since indicana is a restaurant of two spice filled cultures I expected a lot of heat. I was sadly disappointed, however the food was good. Delicious new restaurant in South Perry and the perfect addition to the neighborhood! I brought my mom here for lunch on a Saturday after some shopping and we were seated immediately. It smelled so good in the restaurant and the decor was bright and colorful. The fusion menu combining Indian and Mexican was genius and a great flavor combo. We started with the guacamole and chips and crispy cauliflower. Both were a must order (especially the chips which were 10/10). Then I had the Chana Masala bowl and my mom had the Chicken Tikka bowl - both were large portions and packed with flavor. The only thing I didn't love love was the margarita. It was okay but next time I will probably order something else. Will definitely be back soon! read more
