They offer Indian with a bit of Indo-Chinese cuisine, but I stuck with straight Indian on this occasion. Upon opening my takeout bag, I was greeted by a fully flavored channa masala, a mouthwatering naan with grated chili, and a heck of a lot of flash-fried spinach. It was plenty of food for the money, interesting, and delicious. A little on the salty side, and frankly the spinach wore on me by the end and it would have been better shared or saved for longer than I had. Excellent food!! Don't sleep on this place!! I will be ordering from here again. The concept of Indo-Chinese cuisine was new to me and it did not disappoint. The samosas were crispy and full with filling and the sauces were delicious. The coconut curry was fantastic, but I didn't realize it came with a side of rice, so I ordered another side of rice. The description of the entree could've been clearer in that sense. The crispy garlic cauliflower wasn't exactly crispy, but it was delicious and might've been due to the delivery time. The rosemary garlic naan was incredible. I wouldn't order from here again without ordering the naan! I ordered delivery with Grubhub and it was very fast. Overall, their food is good but yesterday we ordered the spicy wings and they were SO SALTY, not spicy and did not taste like vindaloo! I took one bite and had to set it aside. Also, they only gave us 4 wings (missing one). So we paid $9 for 4 wings and they tasted like 7-11 wings. I told my husband maybe they ran out of their wings so they walked over to 7-11 and bought theirs. DISGUSTING! Depressing s the only word that comes to mind. My wife, son and I have enjoyed eating Indian Wok on and off for years now. We've noticed the quality going down over the past year, but tonight was the final straw. We've noticed ordered butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, garlic naan and samosas. All of them were simply awful. They only gave us 1 bin of rice even though we paid for 2 entrees as well. The chicken was hard (overcooked) the sauces were hideous (bland and overly creamy) with no spices visible to the eye. And the worst part was I walked in and the chef/cook was out in the takeout area twice and didn't acknowledge my existence. Piss poor customer service and completely underwhelming product = losing our business. Sucks as there are a very...limited number and of quality Indian spots in Frederick that are worth the money. read more

Recently moved to Frederick. We have been making the rounds on all the Indian food restaurants. Ordered Indian Wok tonight (delivery) and the food was the BEST so far. Lamb Vindaloo, Butter Chicken, Naan, Raita, and the chicken/cheese naan and the fried dumplings. All were EXCELLENT! I will say the fried dumplings had the same ground chicken that was in the naan, so I may not order both at the same time again, but they were equally good. I was yelling for my husband to come get a bite as I prepared our plates! It was a nice 5 spice kind of flavor, very nice. And the prices - the MOST reasonable yet ($16ish for a main rather than $20+) with perfect portions with enough bites of protein in the sauces. Yum! Ordered Mild and it was perfect for me, just a hint of spice. Packaging was good as well. Will order again or visit in person. So happy, this is 'the one'. Please, give them a try. It was all quite spicy- not too much to stand but enough that I drank 3 bottles of water. Spicy chili naan. 5stars. So good. But, knowing the spice level of everything else I might have tried a different flavor. It was spicy too. Spring roll 3stars. Samosas 4 stars because the green dip was good. Crispy spicy French fries:7,765 stars. Sooo good. If you're looking for a different appetizer, TRY. these. Chefs special biryani: 4.5 stars Prawn vindaloo:5Stars. So good. Large shrimp. Delicious sauce. My only negative comment is that I asked what to get my 2yo, and I ordered it. But, it was still too spicy for my kid. With that said, I'm not mad, cause then I ate his food. Spousal unit has been raving about Indian Wok (I've been hunkering down outside the 'ville). She was definitely not kidding; the best Indian food I've had in a long time. And not just Indian; Indo-Chinese and Nepalese too. How do I love thee? Let me count just a few of the ways... We ordered the special Lamb Shank, Lamb Rogan Josh, plus a few different naans. Do not order the lamb shank; save it for me! Amazing flavor and fall-off-the-bone tenderness. They only make 5 per day so if you want one, order early. The Rogan Josh was really, really tasty. Not spicy by itself, but eaten with the Spicy Chilley Naan it warmed up very nicely. And the Momo - oh, the Momo. Soft dumpling, wrapped around chicken and chive spiced filling - this was special (and for $8.95, a steal). Total price including tip and (free) delivery was well under $50, with plenty of leftovers for tomorrow. I'm a big proponent of shopping local, especially during the pandemic. In the middle of a depressed strip mall kinda on the outskirts of town, I happened to be driving by it while running into the Dollar Tree store in the same strip and it caught my eye. I wouldn't have even tried it if it weren't for the couple of good reviews found here on Yelp. I was pleasantly surprised! Placed the order through Yelp (which shows up as GrubHub). When you enter the restaurant, it's only a counter and nothing else...looks kinda dingy but the smells coming out of the kitchen were amazing! Ordered: Samosas (excellent) Naan (huge piece for 99 cents) Aloo Gobi (Cauliflower and potatoes and peas) And Manchurian Cauliflower- this is a tough one as it's breaded and unless eaten immediately, turns soggy and goopy. I would skip this next time. I requested mild but it could have used a touch more spicing. Figured I'd grab some Indian food since it's been a while. Got the butter chicken, buttered naan, and garlic naan. The butter chicken sauce is perfectly rich and creamy and full of flavor. The chicken is tender and cut into big chunks. The naan is...perfection. Honestly, I usually prefer garlic but their plain (buttered) naan is just as good if not better. I'm looking forward to becoming a regular. Areas of Opportunity: 1. The place looks awful. Very uninviting with a sign on door saying CARRYOUT ONLY, NO DINE IN, despite there being plenty of space for seating. It's dark and dank and the gentleman at the counter, frankly, looked miserable. 2. There is no menu posted in the space. You can look at a paper menu from the basket at the cash register, and put it back, which is very awkward. They may be aiming to be mostly online, but if you're going to allow walk-ins, act like it. 3. Not everyone is familiar with Indian cuisine, and not all Indian cuisine is as good as yours. Don't be fooled by the strip mall exterior or the logo that looks like one for a pizza joint... This unassuming spot is a hidden gem. Best Indian food in the Frederick area IMO. For start - customer service was great. Each dish was made GF. They didn't have papadums on the menu, but made some special for me and even baked them to avoid cross contamination in the fryer. They forgot one of my carryout dishes, and immediately offered to deliver it without questions. I lived too far away... So they refunded me and apologized at least 6 times. ** Ordered carryout once since this review. They remembered me and the forgotten order and apologized again. Lamb Rogan was very flavorful and meaty. Lamb Vindaloo was a good spicy level. Chicken Tikka and butter chicken could have used more meat - but sauce was on point. My family said Palak Paneer was best they've had. Best part? PRICE. 6 entrees + 2 samosas + papadums was little over $70. That is UNBEATABLE anywhere in US I've ordered Indian. A hidden takeout gem in a small strip mall priced right. Ordered the lamb biryani with garlic naan. Everything was delicious. The lamb was tender and the rice was super flavorful. The raita which is a yogurt sauce that is typically served with biryani was also very tasty and thankfully no tomatoes. Some places make it with tomatoes which I'm not a fan of. After reading all the glowing reviews, I was reasonably optimistic that the food would be good or at least passable. I've had Indian food in many different contexts from homecooked to fine restaurants, and my experiences in even just "so so" establishments was always at least reasonably good. Its all about the flavors, as another reviewer who was disappointed in this place indicated. Indian food flavors are nuanced and unique. Everyone remembers their first amazing Indian food. Its like a religious experience. I placed a carryout order of 5 dishes for my family of three with the idea that we could have leftovers for a few days. I was very hungry after working long hours and really needed a break. The order was very pricey and represented a financial sacrifice for me. The first bad sign was the pool of orange grease which completely saturated the bottom of the paper bag lining the plastic carryout bag. ORANGE GREASE. It was unclear what dish that even leaked from. I had ordered the Palak Paneer, and it was, I am not kidding, inedible. It managed to be overwhelmingly spicy and flavorless at the same time. The color and consistency was all wrong. It tasted nothing like Palak Paneer. It looked like frozen spinach put in a blender and mixed with God only knows what.I had to throw it out. It was not salvagable. The rice biriyani was greasy and made with limp bagged frozen vegetables, used sparingly. There were patches of rice that had not been cooked in whatever the rest of it was cooked in. I ordered two chicken dishes for my husband and daughter, and the flavor on the sauces for both were completely wrong. The actual consistency of the sauce was bizarre as well. Its as if they used little cream and made an odd substitute. I have no explanation for what was going on. Those dishes are salvageable with some...I don't know. I'll figure it out. The noodle dish was passable as a noodle dish, but it had absolutely no "Indian" flavoring to it. If you didn't know it was supposed to be Indian food, it wouldn't be obvious. It too was very greasy. And needed salt. Now, you might say: "The sign says Indian WOK and it says it also offers Asian food, so you should have known!" Well, I have eaten a lot of Asian food, having been married into an Asian family, and no home chef or professional chef would use blended ethnicities in food to create something that would profoundly sadden and disappoint any person who knows either of those ethnic foods.
