My husband and I came here for a meal and got the malai kofta, saag paneer, and lamb biryani as well as roti and garlic naan. It was absolutely delicious! Service was excellent and they were all very nice. I love Indian food but hadn't had it in ages and this was absolutely great! Mango Grill is in my top 3 favorite hometown restaurants!! My family and I have dinner at Mango at least 3-4 times per month. Our favorite dishes are: *Gobi Manchurian *garlic naan (BEST around!) *onion bahjji *garlic shrimp pataka *shrimp vindaloo *vegetable briyani *shrimp kasa *goan fish curry I have never once gotten an appetizer or entree that I didn't like!! The owners are absolutely lovely and very welcoming to me and my family. As soon as they see us come through the door, they already know to put an order in for garlic naan!! My wife and I are vegetarian and while passing through Hagerstown on our way back to PA we Yelped some veggie friendly restaurants. Mango Grill popped up and the menu has a bunch of vegetarian and vegan options ( Indian cuisine so of course) . We were seated immediately. We ordered appetizers and entrees. As soon as our appetizers were finished they brought out our main dishes. We both ordered everything at a spiciness of 2 . Every bite was amazing. Service was excellent. We would recommend Mango Grill to everyone wanting authentic Indian fare. We live 2 hours and 45 min away and will definitely consider a road trip for a repeat performance! read more

My only complaint was that we really didn't know what scale they were using when asked how spicy we wanted our dishes. I said, "Medium", and I should have said "Little spice." I used this place from long time a goo , unfortunately it become a rib-off , the prices become 20% up & amount of food it's nothing how come lamb curry for 16,95$, it was for 14,95$ last few weeks , also it's not the same prices as menu show up ... I attached receipt to check the prices there and the prices on a menu , charging 7,99$ per pound for a buffet. Plus , adding some items on pickup receipt not even ordered. If I close my eyes, I can still taste the different flavors and smell the tantalizing aromas. I. LOVE. THIS. PLACE. My tongue was doing a happy dance the entire time I was eating. After my 2nd plate, my stomach was saying no, but my tongue was saying yes yes yes. You MUST eat here for their lunch buffet! ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT! Hidden surprise! Never would've noticed this place but it was yum. Tried some foods I never had before and the mango drink was good and helped with the heat of the spices. Everything was fresh and servers/wait staff (maybe the owners?) very responsive and attentive. Took 1-star because even though it was clean there was open uncovered ice bucket and some dishes directly behind my chair. This should be protected in event of airborne contamination. I'm a germaphobic so it sort of made me feel uncomfortable. And the kitchen/restroom was at my back. I didn't use it so I'm not sure. Otherwise, food was delicious. It was busy when we visited but not packed. Owners made their rounds to the customers and make you feel very welcome. I would love to go back and try something else. read more

Best Indian food I've found in Hagerstown; I sometimes dream of the lunch buffet. I haven't had anything I didn't like but the chicken tikka masala is truly drool-worthy, and only gets better with a side of crispy and garlicky naan. Beyond the amazing food, the owner and staff make you feel at home the moment you walk in the door. Ordered lamb somosas which were loosely filled with the meat and was oily. The best samosas we've had (large lamb fryer cooked I believe as there is no oil oozing out @ half the price and we are Indian food connoisseurs being originally from India), is the Indian place near the intersection of Rte 1 and Contee in PG County MD. I don't think yelp allows us to give names. Also ordered a Goan shrimp curry - which was RIDICULOUS. 7 medium size shrimp wallowing in a bunch of coconut milk that had some curry in it but DEFINITELY not anything to do with Goa or close to it! Best Goan was from a place connected with the HARBOR & TANDOORI! if you get the drift:) Rice was lumpy sticking together- rather surprising as many of the high end Indian restaurants serve basmathi that is grainy. We do not own or have any connection to the places we have found great. Writing this review as we are not happy for the rip off! Lovely people and amazing Indian cuisine. Me and the wife have been adventuring with our palletes a bit and this place is a gem. I love their tikka masala and the wife really enjoyed their chicken korma. We both really enjoyed the garlic nan bread. Highly recommend. And I don't remember the name but their donut holes soaked in a honey sauce are great for dessert. Only tip is if your like us make sure to tell them easy on the spice. First off, absolutely amazing food. Indian is one of my favorites. We had saag paneer and chicken Tikka Masada with a side of Naan. We were in town for a concert and decided to stop in. We arrived right at 5 when they opened for dinner. We were seated and given menus. Then we sat around waiting for someone to take our orders. There were two people we saw. I believe a husband and wife team. The wife was very soft spoken and didn't know much English. The husband knew more, but that still lead to problems when another table asked for recommendations and he didn't understand. When our food arrived I was amazed how small the portions are, especially for around $15 per plate. I've made chicken Tikka masala at home a few times (not as good mind you) and know how much it costs to make. On a larger scale it would be far cheaper. It did come with unlimited jasmine rice which was nice but Naan was extra (2.50 for 2 pieces). There are 2 recommendations I would have for this place 1. Hire a native speaker to help with things (answer phones, take orders, clean, whatever) 2. Increase portion sizes a little and include at least one piece of Naan with the meals. I enjoy supporting small local places and this fit that category nicely. I enjoyed the personal service they offer. Someone picked up an order and the husband opened each container to make sure it was correct and show his customers what everything looked and smelled like. If we lived around here, I'd be going to the lunch buffet every chance possible. That might be the way to go, although I have no idea what is typically offered in it. read more

The food was horrendous. The curry chicken tasted like spaghetti sauce from a jar. Very limited items on the buffet. Rice was hard and has small dry chunks. Definitely not fresh today. Naan bread was not available until I was finished eating. Only item I found acceptable was the tandori chicken. Also., the website list the buffet as $12.95 for weekday and I was charged $14.95. The coke was $2.50 for a miniature bottle of warm soda served with cup of ice. Paper plates and plastic forks were the only option to eat with. Asked for silverware .... The waitress smiled and never returned. It would be so great if this area could get a decent Indian restaurant. This place is shit and I would never go back let alone recommend a friend or family. $20 and a 1/2 hour of my time I'll never get back. read more

I ordered chicken tikha - it tasted very good. Two comments: 1. The portion of the chicken - there were small chunk of chicken meat 1"x2" at most and there were not that many of them. Had dinner at this establishment after hearing positive reviews about it. Sampled the Mango Chicken, Lamb Vindaloo, and Naan. The waitress was a very cheerful and friendly young lady who provided us with her recommendations. She did seem to forget about us at one point, but the friendliness overrides any irritation. She was very good. The rice was very good. It had a hint of saltiness and another flavor I could not pin. It was very light and just about perfect. We were told we could have as much rice as we wanted. The delay by the waitress prevented us from getting a second serving of rice which allowed me to feel full. The Mango Chicken and Lamb Vinaloo had the "medium" heat which wasn't hot for me but spicy for the other in the party. Each had a nice flavor but we preferred the lamb. The two dishes were well-seasoned and the chicken and lamb were tender. As for the Naan, we ordered the garlic naan. The naan was very good and nicely prepared. You can't ask for much more. The dishes appeared to be not enough, but amazingly we did not finish either dish but ate all of the naan. I was surprised at the price for the amount of food we received. I guess I am used to the large portions of other places. Wouldn't mind trying some of the other dishes in the future. read more

Met friends here for dinner and hate a very good meal. The Indian was tasty and spicy and came out exactly as ordered. The young lady waiting the table was new and some of the terms were unfamiliar to her, but we managed to work through it. She tried hard and exhibited a lot of hustle taking care of tables and that's all good. Mango lassi was excellent and thick. Tasty! My lamb was tasty and delicious. A good portion of chunks of lamb meat in a spicy sauce. A little wet but still easy for pouring on to rice and then dipping naan into. We got an "assorted" basket of naan which was half stuffed and half plain and half garlic. Good for three people and still plenty left over. It's not a huge place and that meant that they had enough to take care of us. I can see returning to Mango. read more
