Quite a surprising place. We didn't know Frederick offered good Indian cuisine, but once we tried this place we loved the buffet over our usual regular down closer to DC. The chicken is tender and soft. The interior is dimly lit and more soothing. The staff is attentive and plentiful. There are several people constantly walking around that can help you. The choices on the buffet has a good variety and they have name plates that tell you if it is vegetarian or not. I enjoyed my experience here and plan to come back here. read more

Easter Sunday lunch buffet was $30/person but you can alternatively order from the regular menu. We were greeted and seated right away. The hara bhara appetizer was a large portion and came with chana masala. The malai kofta was fresh, tasty, hot, and a good portion for the price. The paneer makhani was also a great dish with a delicious creamy sauce and also hot and fresh. Each came with a bowl of white basmati rice. We asked for spicy and medium spicy but both were fairly UN-spicy. They told me they don't have chicken tikka masala as white meat, which is how it's supposed to be prepared, and it's only available bone-in. All of their chicken dishes are dark meat, which is not the Indian way, but they're likely catering to non-South Asians who prefer thigh or leg. The service was intermittent, and our main server disappeared and never came back after taking our order. They took some time refilling water glasses or even checking in on our needs so some improvement could be had. Restaurant clientele was about 10% South Asian, 90% not. The ambiance was pleasant. UPDATE: I am removing a star. So, the food is great. But they lied to me about items that would be on the buffet. I called and asked for a specific item and was told that it is available at the buffet. When we got there, that item was not available. Maybe it was a mistake on their part. I celebrated my birthday at the Mint Room on Valentines night. We originally went to their so called competition around the corner but we had to leave after being ignored. We called the Mint Room and y were able to accommodate us without a reservation. Vicki was our server and he was super attentive and even gave me a rose since it was my birthday meal and a delish birthday cake. He also took pics of my husband and I. Everything we ordered was so delish! My husband had lamb and I got butter chicken. We shared an appetizer as well. I'll be back. The ambiance is pretty as well. read more

My father-in-law from Mumbai loved this place! We came for the buffet on a Saturday, and everything was hot and fresh. The chili fish is must dry. Everything was so flavorful. And my father-in-law loved having the beers that he grew up drinking in India again. Culturally, you may have a to flag down a waiter from time to time, but that's no bother at all! I went during the week to try out their buffer. Their dessert was really good, even the rose pudding and I'm usually not a fan of the rose flavor. I wasn't too impressed with their butter chicken, I liked another dish if their better. They brought a basket of naan to the table which was nice but quite a lot for just one person! I took the family here for buffet lunch the first time and let's just say that we left stuffed and satisfied. Service excellent. We were seated right away! Floors were a little slippery for my liking but clean and nicely decorated. Since we were a big party, we were at least seated far enough to not be intrusive due to some small children. Cannot believe I haven't reviewed The Mint Room before. TLDR: amazing place! We took the fam to TMR for Christmas dinner. First time for my son and his crew, second time for Spousal Unit and me. We made reservations for 6pm thinking it would be crowded; it was not that busy (better for us!). We ordered a variety of appetizers, three different naans, several chicken dishes (I normally go for lamb or goat but I'm getting over a cold and needed something simple). Everything was excellently cooked, beautifully presented, and wonderfully seasoned. (My fam is spice-timid so they kept the heat low. I ordered a level 5 of 10 for a chicken dish that was described as "fiery" but because of my cold I should have gone all the way to 10). Portion sizes were excellent, with enough leftovers for dinner tonight (yay!). Everybody - including several youngsters - thoroughly enjoyed their meal. We really, really enjoyed our dinner. Ordered veg fried rice and veg noodles. Delivered on time. Amount for veg fried rice is good. Amount for veg noodles is okay. It tasted like they have made them in very hurry. We went here for lunch. Very nice inside much better than previous decor. We were Les to a table by enthusiastic servers. They offer a lunch buffet which I perused . It looked quite good. Fresh looking with a wide variety of their food. We ordered off the menu though so we could take food home . I had the goat curry and my friend had chicken tikka masala. Both were delicious with well seasoned sauces made to our taste of heat. I enjoyed an unusual drink Jahlhera, very different but worth trying . My friends mango lassi was delicious. My mom and I decided that instead of doing a traditional Thanksgiving meal this year, we would go out instead. Somehow, I never knew that she loves Indian food and she didn't realize that I do, too. So when we discovered this about each other, we decided to check out The Mint Room. It was a great decision! The atmosphere in there is warm and cozy, while still being open and relaxed feeling. We felt at ease right away. The people are kind and attentive, and not at all pushy. Mom is very sensitive to spice and got hers quite mild, and I got mine a bit spicier, though I'll go a couple of levels higher next time, now that I have an idea of their levels. We both very much enjoyed our food, which was in generous portions, and have leftovers to happily eat. Though I loved everything we ate there, the thing I was most excited to try was a rose lassi! I have had mango and plain lassis many times, but never seen rose offered. I love rose flavor when it's not overdone, and they balanced it perfectly. It was beautiful and delicious! We are regulars here and there a multiple reasons why. It's in a great spot in Worman's Mill with plenty of parking. The place is clean, and the whole staff is very friendly. I have eaten at some of the other Mint Rooms and this is one of the newest. Very upscale feel to it. Drinks are good and the food is delicious. We always get the Palak Chat and Butter Chicken because it is so good. Get it more on the spicy side otherwise it tends to get replaced with salt. I've been here about 4x now. 2x a la cart and 2x for the lunch buffet (about $20 per person from 11:30 - 2:30 everyday). The food are delicious! So far I've liked everything I tried. They always ask what spice level you'd like too. The wait staff are super attentive and friendly. Honestly they go above and beyond to make sure you're having a great experience. Today we went for the lunch buffet and I told my friend happy birthday. I don't know if it's manager or owner either way he overheard and brought us a slice of cake to help us celebrate. It was very sweet of them. Another time I went one of the waitstaff heard me said the food is a tad spicy for my daughter and he brought her some Lassi to help. Sadly, I requested a top shelf margarita and the bartender was not at work. The owner himself prepared the drink. Watching the preparation, rail liquor was used as well as a mix which made the drink green and placed a dried lime inside. The absolute worst margarita I have ever had! Top shelf Margareta is my drink of choice had in various venues over a lifetime. This was the worst ever! Went with friends for buffet on Sunday. To begin with, the dishes were lined up in a way that would make it crowded and have people waiting for longer than expected. Lees choices for vegetarians. We asked them to replenish the yogurt but no one did. Also they ran out of gulab jamuns and it took a lot of time to get it refilled. None of the dishes tasted good expect the butter chicken. For context, this place was recommend to me by a coworker and I've only been here once during the middle of the week. Had the butter chicken and naan. Butter chicken was not creamy and tangy as I normally prefer. The chicken was also not the freshest.. almost as if they used tandoori chicken dark meat that had been cooked earlier that day. June 2025: Indian food pretty much tops our list of favorite cuisines so when we moved to rural Carroll County we were resigned to have to travel great distances to enjoy it. Thank goodness for The Mint Room! We stopped in to enjoy dinner on their patio, not knowing what to expect. And we are so glad we did! Hands down, this is the best Indian meal we've ever had. Exceptional. Bonus, the service is attentive as well as friendly (Mahi is a vivacious, gracious man). We're already planning our next visit. My neighbor (who is from India) and I went to the Mint Room on Wednesday to try their buffet. Im handicapped ad use a walker. I had to rest before even going to be seated. One of the servers turned me around and pushed me over to a table adjacent to the buffet. There's a good variety offered and since my friend could explain what some dishes were I tried some new things. We both enjoyed everything. As far as ambiance, its nice but I'd expect more color on the walls or art to represent the culture. Would I recommend this restaurant, definitely yes read more
