Biked up here for some coffee while camping and encountered the Gen Z stare in real life. It was kind of humorous except I hadn't had my coffee yet. I walked up the cashier and brightly said good morning and so did the young girl at the register. She waited for me to say more and I asked her if I could order some coffee and a hot chocolate to go. She looked at me like I was dumb and simply said "Yes..." It was an awkward interaction to say the least so I let her know I would like 2 coffees and 1 hot chocolate. She said ok and told me it would be a few minutes. I happily waited for my coffees, paid and left. It was awkward because it felt like I had to do all the work in the customer service relationship but hey what can you do. Either she isn't trained on customer service or it isn't a thing here. Either way I got the coffee and went back to my campsite. Will leave 4 stars because I wonder if the wait staff is actually better but I will never know. Coffee was just ok. read more

Drove up there for breakfast and ended up having lunch, food was great! It was out quick, then my husband noticed the cook came out to bus a table and was wearing MAGA clothing. Honestly had I known that, I would have not ordered food. No complaints on the service, just won't be returning, bad for business to boast your political views in my opinion. read more

When you can't make a good, simple breakfast, you should not be cooking in any restaurant. The eggs were just okay, the hash browns were not flipped over, so soggy and not good. The toast was not toast at all, or was made yesterday--it was basically just bread with butter on it that barely melted. Really? Can't even make toast?? This place used to be great years ago, but now is one of the worst breakfast places we have been to. Such a shame. Will never return. Can't blame this one on the economy, but on the cook and the wait staff. read more

Warm and welcoming. The Ben Franklin stove was on, tunes playing in the kitchen with a full cook team. We were greeted with smiles. The Eggs Benedict was tasty and the peach and pecan waffle cooked just right. Food was served quickly. Coffee was a bit weak for my taste. The reviews for this place are kind of mixed so I was a little apprehensive about it until I tasted that sausage gravy. It's so freaking good. I ordered the chicken fried steak with sourdough, and the steak itself is standard but the gravy was a delight. My partner got the waffles which comes with a very thick syrup and it's a bit chewy but he enjoyed it overall. Great place to stop by for quality classic american breakfast food. Plenty of parking up at the front of the restaurant as well. read more

Had the opportunity to come back to this restaurant after a few years off of Gold Beach. Really enjoyed the food and of course the restaurant itself. Overall it hasn't changed much in 30 years. I ate here 3 times during the week we stayed and the best thing we had was the breakfast burrito. All the meets are frozen and the pep in the step of the people needs to be enhanced. Overall I enjoy coming here. In a small town options are limited but if you are an early riser and are camping at Indian Creek then its a no brainer. read more

Great, friendly service. Perfectly cooked food. Nice setting. Tasty decaf coffee. I had the chile relleno omelette, and it was wonderful. Next time I will try their home fry breakfast potatoes instead of hash browns with a standard breakfast, and will update my review if i do so. My only suggestions to them: softer butter, theirs was too cold to spread, and cream pitchers for coffee instead of little packets. I can't hold this against them, but I wish they, and other places, had vegetarian gravy available for biscuits and gravy. read more

We've had good breakfasts here in the past. I'm giving it 4 stars because the servers are all quick and professional. We ordered simple pancakes and waffles. My complaint is the cold syrup. It didn't melt the butter so the pancake was almost cold. My husband's waffle was also so hard he could barely cut it with a butter knife. It's just simple things that can make a difference. Going out is expensive and a luxury for us. I'm sure we will be back as Gold Beach has limited breakfast places. read more

So there's this super cute restaurant/campground about a mile down the street from our home but every single time I've driven by the restaurant has been closed. (everything in our town closes up early, this place closes at 1:00) but the other day we were craving breakfast and made a point of trying it out. We split the chicken fried steak meal, with grits and a small stack, it was easily enough food for two people and everything was delicious! We liked it so much we decided to go back again, this time Pinky ordered the biscuits and gravy and I was dyin to try their corned beef hash with eggs and rye toast. Another hit for me, but Pinky was not impressed with the biscuits and gravy at all. The biscuits were bland and puffy and the gravy wasn't the same stuff they use in the chicken fried steak, it was nearly flavorless. The next time we went we took friends who were in town, I ordered the chili relleno omelette, it wasn't as great as I hoped it would be, I thought it would have a chili relleno inside of it, it doesn't, just a few diced chilis inside and cheese, topped with the sauce. Very uninspired. Pinky went for the chicken fried steak with grits because we know that rules and our friends ordered the eggs benny, which they said was wonderful. I will definitely go back again for the chicken fried steak, the corned beef hash, the grits and now I want to try the eggs benny! read more

While the ambiance is dated and hodgepodge, this place hit every other mark almost perfectly. I think I literally had my eggs Benedict in front of me within 10 minutes of walking in the door. Top, 15. The service was friendly. My hash browns were perfectly crispy. My eggs were actually slightly underdone which was the only disappointment. This place totally exceeded my expectations. Service was terrible. I get that restaurants get slammed with too many people. That was not the case here. It took more than half an hour for them to take our order, and that was after we insisted. It took nearly an hour more for our food to be served, also after we insisted. We were not rowdy or obnoxious ... we waited patiently until patience wore too thin. If, for whatever reason, things are moving slow at your restaurant, you come and explain to the customers, you shouldn't wait until they are so upset that a scene must be made by the customers to get any service. In addition, food quality has gone down. Hollandaise sauce is not merely yellow sauce with no flavor. It should have a specific flavor. This did not. We have been to this cafe several times, but never again. read more

My wife and I tried this place while in the area visiting my daughter. Nice little place a few miles in from the main highway. It is next to a campground area in a peaceful setting. Had a basic breakfast and coffee. Could not tell right away where the main entrance was to the Cafe. We got seated and were served in a timely manner. Various Eggs Benedict's, omelets, pancakes, waffles, French toast, chicken fried steak, biscuits & gravy, bacon, ham and so on. Oh you can get a half order of biscuits & gravy - which is cool cuz it's my husbands favorite but then he doesn't have room for anything else - and he also wanted the Chili Relleno Omelette?! Yay. I don't normally go for the biscuits & gravy but these were so good I had to have a 2nd bite of his. I had the veggie Benedict on hash brown haystack & they poached the eggs hard like I like them - which isn't easy. They have great service considering how packed they were. This was a perfect spot for a brunch after a holiday on the coast! The night before, my friend and I saw the fireworks over the Gold Beach Bay and were in the mood for some carb loading. The diner has a community living room feel, and it seemed to me that the diners were half regulars and half represented drop-in visitors, such as yours truly. While typically I keep my Breakfast order humble and stick to it combination, I felt adventurous today. I picked out a buckwheat waffles and asked that they load it up with their peach and pecan special topping, as well as some lingonberry. I must say, the result was even more complex than my one-off order and this was easily one of the best waffles in my life. My friend ordered an omelet and our food came very quickly on a busy morning; we finished all of our food as it was delicious. I can't wait to come back here to try some of their menu staples; art decor on the walls was varied and beautiful and for the first time in as long as I can remember I walked away with an art print I had a chance to study over a waffle. read more
