    Entrance with Franklin stove

Warm and welcoming. The Ben Franklin stove was on, tunes playing in the kitchen with a full cook team. We were greeted with smiles. The Eggs Benedict was tasty and the peach and pecan waffle cooked just right. Food was served quickly. Coffee was a bit weak for my taste. I can see some coffee snobs being disappointed but that didn't ruin our breakfast or experience. Indian Creek Cafe is a local tradition.

The reviews for this place are kind of mixed so I was a little apprehensive about it until I tasted that sausage gravy. It's so freaking good. I ordered the chicken fried steak with sourdough, and the steak itself is standard but the gravy was a delight. My partner got the waffles which comes with a very thick syrup and it's a bit chewy but he enjoyed it overall. Great place to stop by for quality classic american breakfast food. Plenty of parking up at the front of the restaurant as well.

This place was perfectly cozy and exactly what we were looking for on a windy Friday morning. A nice rustic spot along the creek with classic breakfast food - we devoured our waffles (*drool*). Our server was super sweet and always had coffee flowing.

Would make the drive for these waffles!!

Wow!!! One of the best breakfasts I've ever had!! If you're in the neighborhood, you have to give this place a try! Our waitress, Melissa, was super friendly & quick with our order! She recommended the pecan waffle and she wasn't wrong... The pecan waffle was off the hook & I didn't want it to end! Caleb, the chef, cooked the bacon to perfection!! We also ordered a BLT with avocado that came with homemade potato salad and it was pretty amazing as well!

Chicken fried steak with fried eggs and grits

So there's this super cute restaurant/campground about a mile down the street from our home but every single time I've driven by the restaurant has been closed. (everything in our town closes up early, this place closes at 1:00) but the other day we were craving breakfast and made a point of trying it out. We split the chicken fried steak meal, with grits and a small stack, it was easily enough food for two people and everything was delicious! We liked it so much we decided to go back again, this time Pinky ordered the biscuits and gravy and I was dyin to try their corned beef hash with eggs and rye toast. Another hit for me, but Pinky was not impressed with the biscuits and gravy at all. The biscuits were bland and puffy and the gravy wasn't the same stuff they use in the chicken fried steak, it was nearly flavorless. The next time we went we took friends who were in town, I ordered the chili relleno omelette, it wasn't as great as I hoped it would be, I thought it would have a chili relleno inside of it, it doesn't, just a few diced chilis inside and cheese, topped with the sauce. Very uninspired. Pinky went for the chicken fried steak with grits because we know that rules and our friends ordered the eggs benny, which they said was wonderful. I will definitely go back again for the chicken fried steak, the corned beef hash, the grits and now I want to try the eggs benny!

Plus, they won't scramble the omelettes, but you can get scrambled eggs, which makes no sense. Ridiculous! I mean, come on! It was ok. Server was OK.

Our waitress seemed…read moreirritated with us from the start, and mind you all we had done was sit at the table she instructed us to sit at. For context, I've been a waitress on the coast for nearly 10 years, so I'm usually very mindful of not making a server's job harder, but this felt different. When we ordered, she came across as genuinely annoyed. Did she check on things like coffee? Yes, but with a look of annoyance that made the whole interaction uncomfortable. The food itself was mediocre at best. The gravy was meh, though the chicken fried steak was decent. The "hash browns," however, were not traditional hash browns, they were more like oven roasted potatoes smashed on the grill, which was disappointing if you're expecting the classic version. The pricing was another surprise. I work at a higher end restaurant, and their brunch prices are comparable to what we paid here, which says a lot, considering this is supposed to be a basic diner experience. When our food was dropped off, we were told the toast would be "just a minute." No problem, but when it finally arrived, it was completely cold, with unmelted "butter" that had little to no flavor. And as someone who grew up eating margarine and then transitioning to butter, I knew that this was margarine. My boyfriend who has never had margarine didn't understand why his butter didn't "taste like anything". Also worth noting, my partner ordered a side of sausage links, four small links for $9, yup your read that right, $9 dollars for a side of sausage. Overall, the service felt hostile with a fake mask, the food was mediocre, and the pricing didn't match the experience. As a person who was raised here on the coast and thought to "experience double d's diner again" since it has been a few years, I won't be returning.

I was relieved to find that not only are there wholesome homemade soups on offer but the sandwiches are made with homemade and unboring ingredients like house-baked bread, dilly tuna salad, chanterelles and their own cranberry sauce. I ordered the veggie sandwich, and a cup of the daily soup: veggie stew with chanterelles. Both were brimming with fresh vegetables, and they did not skimp on those freshly foraged mushrooms. Service was so friendly and welcoming. Our sandwiches took a bit longer than the time it takes to stand in line at a Subway. And that is for good reason; the owners were lovingly putting the finishing touches on our lunches as if we were visiting house guests. The last time we were there it was some tasty R&B, but it changes. Another plus. It isn't loud, just enough to add to the ambience. Excellent Italian food awaits.
