    fish and chips

Came across this food truck while passing through Gold Beach on a road trip. Best fish and chips I've ever had. They have some picnic tables in an open-air parking lot to eat. Very casual, yummy eatery with a friendly owner.

What a great little trailer turning out some delicious food, from delicious breakfast burritos and biscuits and gravy, The most outstanding crab melt! Can't wait to try the burger and pastrami sandwich. Deb is such a pleasure to see, always happy and working hard Tried a Cheeseburger today, perfect with all the trimmings and Debs secret sauce, fries done just the way I like, crispy outside and tender inside Only 8 bucks!

a meal in a styrofoam container

Went to Hunger Paynes for lunch today. The people inside seemed nice and cordial, and I ordered a grilled sandwich from the menu. It was ready without much of a wait at all! The sandwich was pretty good, a little greasy but tasty anyway. I didn't notice until I was almost through with the sandwich that the sandwich had melted the styrofoam box it was served in....to late to take it back, and I figured they must have already known about the styrofoam box problem; I'm sure I wasn't the first person to have a grilled sandwich delivered in a styrofoam box there. What a shame. I attached a picture of the inside of the styrofoam box with an arrow showing where the sandwich had actually melted through and left a hole. You can also see an impression from where the sandwich was in the box. Beware.....

    Seafood combo

Fresh seafood. Owner runs the place. Says she gets seafood fresh at local seafood market. It shows. Melts in your mouth. Fries were good simple with sea salt. Could take it to the next level with garlic or rosemary. It's worth the visit. Located on 101 downtown south of the harbor.

Fish and chips. Fish was nice and flaky. Tartar sauce was perfect. Fries were yummy. Coleslaw was great.

Woggy's hours were 10am-5pm. We were only going to be in Gold Beach for one evening, after a long…read morehike through the redwood forests. It was about 5pm when we entered the city limits. What did we have to lose if made a quick drive by...just in case? As we drove up we saw a couple at the order window! We quickly walked up to the counter (while trying to act like we were not quickly walking up to the counter). Sheepishly we asked if they were still taking orders. They graciously said we could order! Thank you Neptune. Large clam chowder and a large fish and chips for me. Fish tacos for the SO. Did I want to start with my clam chowder? Yes please! Hot clam chowder with the cold sea air at your back. It was not a gourmet chowder that you could stand your spoon in. It was a comforting homemade chowder with the perfect clams to potatoes ratio, and it boy did it hit the spot! Arriving next was the generous portion of fish and chips. The fish was coated with light breading accompanied by a homemade sour cream based tartar sauce full of fresh herbs. The fish tacos were even better. The same fish filet covered with fresh cabbage, onions, tomato, and drizzled with a citrusy sour cream sauce. The SO claimed they were the best fish tacos she had ever had. My fish and chips were excellent, but I actually still had a little orderer's remorse after taking a bite of the fish tacos. One of the owners came by our table to bring some cocktail sauce and we remarked how fresh the fish was. She said that they just caught the fish yesterday. How can you not love a place that catches their own fish? Who does that in this day and age? Well, I hate to so boring, but here is another five star review to add to their collection.

About three other random people chimed in with the same support of this place. It was everything they said it'd be. I chose the fish sandwich which is made of battered Rockfish, house made tartar, lettuce, and perfect bun. Best I've ever had. You order at the trailer and then get your patience card out. It does take some time as they are busy. It took mine about 20 minutes to come out. So worth it though. All seating is outdoor picnic tables, or your vehicle. They also have free lemon water or you can order soda by the can. Worth 5+ stars.
