We love this place, the best smoked fish, oysters and octopus! Plus fresh seasonal crab and scallops. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. We stock up on the smoked fish often.

My only Fish Market that I go to when I visit up in Oregon and also a nice restaurant next-door that serves up seafood. I would give them both a five star they do good.

The family stops by every year to stock up before heading home. You can't beat the quality.

I've been shopping at Ray's in Gold Beach, OR for over 25 years. Today I received the worst service…read moreEVER. Checker was Valeria. she didn't know where canned milk was located. At check out I requested plastic bags, bagged light and explained I have a really bad back. I had 4 total bags, each heavier than the last. she had to rebag into 6 bags that I could lift. Took a 5lb bag of potatoes out of one. She tossed the last bag up onto the debit station and asked "Is that light enough?" She put a big bottle of sauce on top of a bunch of bananas. Im always courteous to checkers, so when I was done paying I nicely said "" Thanks for your help". She glared at me. The next time I go into Ray's and she's the only checker, I'll leave and head to the competitor.

First, this location is TINY, was poorly stocked, and the produce was bad. While shopping, I took the last of a LOT of items I was looking for, and didn't find a bunch of things I'd assume I could find at a Ray's. I also went in on a Sunday afternoon and shopped for our family for the week. Apparently they don't like that at this location. I had a full cart and when I pulled up to the check out, the cashier literally looked at my cart and said "oh sh*t" and started loading my groceries. It was a full cart but not ridiculously full. It was groceries for four for a week for pete's sake. The lady who got in line behind me also saw my cart and immediately began screaming across the store for another checker to open up. Someone came to help bag my groceries and literally just threw things into bags. Like....loaf of bread on the bottom under three cans and a half gallon of juice. Just crazy. Got to our rental and had to immediately throw away half the produce because it was bad/moldy/rotten once we opened it up. The pricing was SO WEIRD. $11 siracha and $2 mayo. I have no idea what the heck is going on there. All in all, if you need a quick basic, sure....stop in here I guess. If you need to actually shop or you want any reliable selection.....go elsewhere.

I got a beer and the fish open face sandwich with sweet potato fries. The fries were nothing special. I think the sandwich would be great with the option to change the cheese type. I would love to try it with swiss cheese. The sandwich was good and tasted fresh very little seasoning so you really got to taste the fish and it was yummy. Nice big bathroom that was clean. View was not really anything good and the windows were dirty from the salt air.

Upon arriving the parking lot everything smelled pretty good, which was great. We checked in and waited over 30 minutes to be seated, busy night no reservation totally understandable. Once seated we sat there for almost another 40 minutes before a waitress would even look our way. I understand things get busy but walking past a table that has been waiting without even an acknowledgment, offer for a drink, or even a comment of "we'll be right with you" was definitely disappointing. Like I mentioned earlier, I usually love supporting small restaurants. And the food smelled good so we stayed waiting. We finally order our food, by then another half hour has passed before we get our food, which was overall underwhelming. I ordered a filet mignon which honestly seemed more like a sirloin. The crust and cook on it was good, although the flavor was lacking. I enjoyed their vegetables and mash potatoes far more than the steak itself. My partner ordered a prime rib whose only saving grace was the au jus it was served with. Overall, we felt very disappointed with the service. The food was okay but I personally wouldn't return considering the price point.

I was relieved to find that not only are there wholesome homemade soups on offer but the sandwiches are made with homemade and unboring ingredients like house-baked bread, dilly tuna salad, chanterelles and their own cranberry sauce. I ordered the veggie sandwich, and a cup of the daily soup: veggie stew with chanterelles. Both were brimming with fresh vegetables, and they did not skimp on those freshly foraged mushrooms. Service was so friendly and welcoming. Our sandwiches took a bit longer than the time it takes to stand in line at a Subway. And that is for good reason; the owners were lovingly putting the finishing touches on our lunches as if we were visiting house guests. Definitely stop at the OAS if you're passing through or staying nearby.

Nothing interesting or groundbreaking about these boards for the prices in my opinion. Everything seemed liked basic grocery store items and I make more artisanal and elevated boards just at home. Service was subpar. Table of 2 & they asked for my ID to seat us at the bar -- we didn't plan to sit there but that's what seemed available to them. was there at a very slow point of the day. The place itself is small and not very spacious. Overall my first experience at this could have been way better and I did expect more. I also visited the store that is interconnected -- bought a few items including a coconut blondie. The blondie was delicious but service in the store was just the same as the restaurant.
