Woggy's hours were 10am-5pm. We were only going to be in Gold Beach for one evening, after a long hike through the redwood forests. It was about 5pm when we entered the city limits. What did we have to lose if made a quick drive by...just in case? As we drove up we saw a couple at the order window! We quickly walked up to the counter (while trying to act like we were not quickly walking up to the counter). Sheepishly we asked if they were still taking orders. They graciously said we could order! Thank you Neptune. Large clam chowder and a large fish and chips for me. Fish tacos for the SO. Did I want to start with my clam chowder? Yes please! Hot clam chowder with the cold sea air at your back. It was not a gourmet chowder that you could stand your spoon in. It was a comforting homemade chowder with the perfect clams to potatoes ratio, and it boy did it hit the spot! Arriving next was the generous portion of fish and chips. The fish was coated with light breading accompanied by a homemade sour cream based tartar sauce full of fresh herbs. The fish tacos were even better. The same fish filet covered with fresh cabbage, onions, tomato, and drizzled with a citrusy sour cream sauce. The SO claimed they were the best fish tacos she had ever had. My fish and chips were excellent, but I actually still had a little orderer's remorse after taking a bite of the fish tacos. One of the owners came by our table to bring some cocktail sauce and we remarked how fresh the fish was. She said that they just caught the fish yesterday. How can you not love a place that catches their own fish? Who does that in this day and age? Well, I hate to so boring, but here is another five star review to add to their collection. read more

Great fish and battered frys! The service might take a few minutes because they make everything fresh. It is well worth the wait! The ladies are funny and care about their customers, they even limited some orders to make sure other customers got a chance to order because they were running low on the fresh caught fish! Two independent recommendations brought is to Woogy's. We ordered the fish and chips and the burger with chiles. Both were out-friggin-standing. He catches the fish. She makes the sauces...and the burgers. Holy cow this is the best fish and chips I've ever had. These folks are incredibly sweet and they take pride in high quality food. I've been traveling for the past 6 months. This was one of the places I visited during my travels and I still talk about it to this day. The fish tacos were fantastic! On par and better than I've had in San Diego. The sauce and slaw on the tacos was delicious. The rockfish was fresh. They catch what they cook. When they run out, they catch some more! I also had their clam chowder which was thinner than I'm used to but I really really liked that. The fish and chips were also great. The tartar sauce was absolutely the best tasting tartar sauce I've had. It was not your classic tartar sauce. It's house made and delicious. Long wait (30+ minutes) but worth it. That's the only negative to it and would usually bring it down a star for me but the food was so good have to give it 5 stars. You can walk around the harbor to look at the ocean if you like. The day I visited, they also had a friendly dog that many customers played with while waiting. The dog was very cute and friendly and had toys nearby you could use to play with them. They have an outdoor hand washing station for public use. Only outdoor seating available. I ate in our van with a nice view of the water. Many people ate on the flatbed of their trucks. Food was delicious! We got fish & chips and chowder. The fish was really good! It was lightly breaded with a well seasoned batter, and so were the chips (I don't typically want or need battered chips, but they were good as well). The chowder was yummy too (made in house and also flavorful). We're just visiting the area but would totally come here again and recommend to anyone! Service was friendly and awesome too! I wanted some fish and chips and I've always wanted to try this food cart out. Nothing fancy. Outdoor seating and business shares a parking lot with a U-Haul rental business. Other reviews mentioned that their orders took a long time. Perhaps it's because I was there at 11:30 my wait time was o my 5 minutes. The weather was fantastic so it was easy to wait at a picnic table. The fish was good and tasted fresh. The breading was light so it didn't have the crunch usually associated with battered fish. Let me start out by saying that the food was not 5 start but the fact that i enjoyed it so much made me give it the review it gets. My wife and I usually split an order of fish and chips and still never end up eating all the chips, we ordered a large fish's and chips to split, the folks seemed to be a husband and wife couple and playfully bantered. When my wife went to grab the food the lady mentioned that her husband had "big" hands since we were splitting it. We took it a few minutes up the road to a view point to eat. WOW, not only big hands but they had doubled all the extras even extra slaw, a few normal sized filets and a JUMBO piece, also loads of fries. My wife will only eat fried and battered fresh fish, it has to be crispy, the fish was pretty soggy, with that being said she eat it and could not believe that the fish was so good she could eat it even not being crispy. We stopped for gas in Gold Beach and then asked for a lunch recommendation. Woggy's was at the top of the list and it did not disappoint. The Fish and chips, caught everyday, w/ a delicate batter and the most delicious tartar sauce made with sour cream and dill along with another home made cocktail sauce. Then coleslaw, again fresh and sweet and savory. So good. The owners are very friendly and offered for us to taste the clam chowder which was delicious, too. Not too heavy, but so flavorful. Our culinary exploration of the Oregon coast continues. The other afternoon we hit up a popular food truck in town called Woggy's. It was our first time trying 'em and it will definitely not be our last! They catch their fish fresh every morning, sea to table in one move, it was so flaky and perfectly battered, in fact everything we ordered was top-notch, their clam chowder was so buttery and delicious I could've drank a quart, their pommes frites were probably the best I've ever tasted, paired with their house made tartar sauce? Chef's kiss! Not to mention the coleslaw, which was definitely the best I've ever had, it had cilantro and lime in it, it was so refreshing and summery. I really thought the fish burrito was delicious, I skipped the white sauce that supposedly makes the burrito all come together. They added cocktail sauce to mine , my brother had it as it came.
