Shared with my husband because he liked the first bite of creamy goodness so much. I paid him back by eating some of his beans which had nice chunks of brisket in them. So flavorful with a hint of sweetness. Husband's chicken sandwich had a large, juicy piece of chicken too. We stuffed ourselves. The service was friendly and prompt. Only negative was I was not impressed with the biscuit. Hard on the bottom yet the top was falling apart. Flavor was fine. Lunch was definitely worth taking the long way up to Bandon. For a no frills, small bbq place, it is great. Don't expect frilly ambiance, this is bbq. And it was delicious bbq. Be forewarned that there is a reason that they have mini sandwiches. The sandwiches are huge! We had two pulled pork sandwiches. The pork was very moist and flavorful. My husband liked the huge size of the sandwich. I think I would have preferred the mini. You can get onions and pickles on the side if you ask. We also shared the mac and cheese which was great and just enough to share. There were jalapeños in it. I would have liked a bit more salt and fresh ground pepper. Wish we would have tried the brisket as well. Guess we will have to go back if we are passing through. read more

Not even rating this but I just paid $20 for a two meat combo of St. Louis ribs and tri tip and this is what I got. I don't think it's either one of those and it's all the same meat. Probably brisket which I'm not a fan of. At the moment my real rating is zero because why do I have to police everything to make sure a distracted or stoned person doesn't get it completely wrong? But I'm sure they don't do this every time. I'll eat my chowder and think about whether it's worth my time to go back. Update: Upon reflection and trying the meat, I think the large, stringy pieces are brisket and the smaller more uniform textured pieces are tri-tip. No ribs. Guess they confused "St. Louis Ribs" with "Brisket". I will say the biscuit was very good. Nice grainy texture. The chowder was sour. Two out of the three were not good. The ribs were really dry and not a lot of meat on them. Then the tri tip was just over cooked and dry. The only thing that was ok was the pulled pork but I mean how can you really mess that up. It was a bit greasy but it was better than being dry. Then the drink I got was super fly and not cold at all even with ice in it. It was just disappointing. Plus I read that their cornbread was the best and that was super dry as well. We went there Friday night and they were out of meat. We went for Mexican. It was great. We had the BBQ Saturday for lunch. It was so good! Sunday my husband goes into town, I asked if he would pick up some of their Macaroni and cheese to go with our steaks I was grilling. They were closed. The food good, not great but good. the place has six or seven tables and i watched the owner go to each table and ask how everything was, completely ignoring our table? I ask the waitress who he was and she confirmed he was the owner. We finished our meal and paid the bill plus a 30% tip for the hardworking waitres. The pulled pork was easily a 10/10 in flavor but the pork belly was about a 4/10 for flavor though it was the perfect texture, it just didn't satisfy my crispy pork belly craving. Bread or biscuit was offered but we didn't try it. BBQ sauce is on the side on the table - perfect for me (don't eat it) to share with my BF (smothers everything in it). Really good bbq. My family and I came here based on the recommendations of the local. We came a bit before closing time, but staff was very friendly and allowed us to continued eating even after they closed. We got 1/2 pound of chicken, the brisket sandwich, and bacon burger. The meats are very tender and juicy. The brisket sandwich is an absolute must for the sautéed onion and cheese made the sandwich so mouthwatering. My family liked to share, so we asked them to cut everything in smaller portions so it was easier to share, and they were more than willing to do that. With inflation, I unfortunately see so many restaurants increased their prices, but Gold Beach BBQ still maintain reasonable prices for the food they serve. read more

Mouth watering doesn't come close to describing what I ate. I tried the 5 meat 4 side combo and was blown away. To keep is somewhat short &,sweet, the service was - subpar. I felt basically rushed to order & the guy was being weirdly "moody" with me. It was around noon, so they weren't about to close. I ordered my combo plate - they shlepped it into a box right in front of me, threw it in a bag & I turned around & walked out. One of the weirdest experiences I've had ordering a meal in a very long time. There was a wrapped & half melted pad of butter they threw into the hot box & it got all over my food - no complaints haha! That being said, with the quality & portion for the price, they can afford to treat me like they're running a NYC deli & they ain't got no time for a girl with questions about the menu (it is a fairly extensive menu). I should note that I was 1 of 3 people in there & the other 2 people were already eating. As soon as I walked in & still standing at the front door the guy yells out to me "are you eating here or to go?!?" It caught me off guard - I wasn't sure he was talking to me until I made eye contact with him. He told me to grab a menu off the counter & I sat at a table to look it over. When I got to the counter, It felt like I was ordering something off the black market lol! But honestly, the brisket is *chefs kiss* & so are the fall-off-the bone, perfectly smoked & seasoned pork ribs. The potato salad is some of the best I've ever had in my life & even the cornbread muffin was perfectly flavorful & moist. Give me top-tier food like that & I'll make do with questionable customer service.
