Then I'll check out what kind of meats they have available and grab some. Love that over the years they have improved their drink selections to now include Vitamin Water. The music was completely inappropriate for a family restaurant. Some songs contained racial slurs and explicit language, making it an uncomfortable environment for children and families. The food was bland, lacked flavor, and had an unpleasant smell. Even worse, there were no clear allergy labels on the food. My father has an egg allergy, and we specifically asked an employee whether a dish contained egg. We were told it did not, but afterward, my father became seriously ill and spent two days throwing up. This was extremely concerning and could have been dangerous for someone with a food allergy. A restaurant serving a buffet should take food safety and allergy awareness seriously. Customers should be able to trust the information provided by employees, especially when it comes to potentially life-threatening allergies. Between the overcrowding, inappropriate music, poor food quality, and serious concerns about allergy safety, this experience was unacceptable. We will not be returning, and I would strongly encourage management to improve the dining environment, food quality, and allergy labeling procedures.

I went here a while back with my friend from Toronto, who knows his Indian food. My friend and I, love trying different Indian restaurants because it takes us back to our childhood days in India. We tend to favor Northern Indian restaurants rather than South Indian. It has become a custom that we attend at least an Indian restaurant once a week (especially to get the traditional flavors our wives can't provide) Like I was saying my friend and I decided to try out a recently opened Indian restaurant in Gilbert. We live all the way in Surprise, and regret the long trip to Gilbert to get a taste of awful Indian food. I feel sorry for all those first timers don't know the taste of true Indian food, and decided to go to this place, India oven. First off, the quality of the food, failed my expectations dramatically. I have heard a few people here and there, actually pleased by the food... but after trying it for myself, I completely disagree. They claim to have the largest Indian buffet in the valley, but what the point of a large buffet, when all the gravies taste the same, and watered down with flavor. I was planning on bringing all the family, but thank god I didn't. Olive garden would have been a better choice. At least the service was decent. That's just half of the story, I had yet to know what was going on in the kitchen. The next week my friend gave me a call, and told me to check out the news where CBS 5 news, showcased Dirty Dining restaurants of the month. I recently had the chance to visit Indian Oven with my family to celebrate a birthday, and as an Indian student looking for authentic Indian flavors, I can confidently say -- Indian Oven did not disappoint! We tried their buffet, and honestly, it was one of the best buffets I've ever tasted. One of the first things I noticed (and loved) was that there was no heavy use of artificial food coloring -- everything looked natural and inviting. The variety was amazing, especially for a non-vegetarian like me -- there were about six different non-veg options, and I loved every single one. The chicken was incredibly tender and flavorful, whether it was in the chicken biryani or the tandoori chicken. And don't even get me started on their mango lassi -- it was so thick, rich, and refreshing! The vegetarian options were just as good, and then came the real showstopper: the gulab jamuns. Honestly, the first bite transported me straight back to my hometown -- they were that good! I lost count of how many I ended up eating. The service was great -- very welcoming and attentive -- and the overall atmosphere was cozy. If I had to mention one small issue, it would be that the lighting inside was a bit on the darker side. But honestly, the food was so amazing that I was enjoying it so much, I completely forgot to take any pictures! I came to this glorious indian cuisine a hungry boy, not sure exactly what I wanted in my life. I left a fulfilled man, set on a path of greatness. Now knowing what i wanted to do with my life, I realized that I must allow others to experience the same gift India Oven has given me. My friends, if you are reading this wondering what to do on a lazy saturday night or sunday morning, heed my words. India Oven satisfies every need of every person. One bite of their delicious garlic naan and my doubts of a God on this planet vanished. I was hesitant about eating at the buffet, especially for dinner, because I've seen Indian buffets be average at best at other places. But this buffet was excellent! It had great variety, included pakoras, chaat, and mango lassi, in addition to all the usual staples of multiples types of chicken, rice, subjis, and so on. Garlic naan are apparently standard, not something you have to pay extra for, because they were waiting at my table by the time I came back from the buffet. The service was excellent too. The owner came over a couple times to check on us, and we had multiple servers asking if we wanted more naan or to fill our water. Everything tasted great. Desserts were fantastic too. I decided to give this place a try for their all-you-can-eat lunch buffet from 11am-2:30pm, which was $20.95. The setup is simple. You're seated by a server, then you head to the buffet and help yourself. I didn't get to try everything, but the tikka masala was the only thing that was ok. The chicken options were mostly on the dry side. The highlight for me was definitely the unlimited mango lassi and naan. The mango lassi was not as thick, but it was still pretty delicious. The naan came out hot and it was crispy and fluffy. The restaurant itself felt a bit dim inside, which added to the overall "okay, but not amazing" vibe. It was nice for a casual lunch with friends, but I'm not sure I'd go out of my way to come back. read more

By far the best Indian restaurant in town! This place is amazing. The food is incredible, every dish is fantastic no matter what you get. The buffet has everything you could ever ask for. It has all the most popular chicken and lamb dishes as well as vegetarian dishes. The have gulab jabun on the desert side of the buffet as well as this awesome sweet carrot dish. Also included in the buffet is naan bread, mango lassie smoothie and a delicious hot tea drink. It is the best tasting and the best value for your money. India Oven is hands down the best Indian buffet in town. I cannot eat at any other Indian restaurant with out saying to my self afterwards, "it was good, but not as good as India Oven". read more

Luckily, Indian Oven was nearby! I've been enjoying their fantastic lunch buffet for the past 10 years, but this was my first experience with their dinner buffet. Wow, what a delightful surprise! The food was absolutely incredible. The naan was exceptionally tasty, and every curry I tried was bursting with flavor. Even the Tandoori chicken was out of this world! I honestly love this place. I love it because the food is not as hot (peppery) as the other Indian restaurants I've been to. It's an All You Can Eat Buffet, but you have a choice of picking from the menu. Not only do they give you fresh naan, but they also bring out some steaming chicken during the dinner buffet. Note, dinner buffet, not lunch. The employees are friendly and the food is always consistent. Sometimes, it's hard to get an employee to get me what I need. I have been there a total of seven times! Had the buffet and ordered a side of onion kulcha and my friends choices for the curries were the chicken tikka masala which was great, the palak paneer tasted really fresh, the rice was really good & I loved the lentils. I'm no Indian food expert but I thought this place was pretty good. The food was tasty enough but not good enough for a 4 rating from me. Here were some interesting desserts that I don't know what they were but they were great! Chai tea comes with the buffet and that was a nice treat as well. I absolutely enjoyed my meal here at India Oven. It was my first time here and we got here just in time for lunch. It was pretty busy, but worth the wait on my day off. One of the best parts was the garlic Naan! YUM. The price was fair for the quality of food and I left so full. The Indian Tea and The mango lassi were delicious. Wow! This place is great. I come here with my parents all the time. We love the buffet, they offer a good variety. I've been to buffets in New York and Los Angeles (all very good), but this is one of the best. The naan is served straight to the table and is piping hot, the chicken is flavorful, and the dessert and chai tea is a beautiful ending. They offer some great veggie options and a salad!
