From start to finish Angel was a great help and excellent customer service he makes sure the job gets done and won't screw you over with prices. They were extremely cheap and affordable. One thing that I loved was that even though I came to get my splash shield replace they still did a car diagnostic check which was very thoughtful they even send you a text of the diagnostic and before and after of the maintenance work so you know you aren't getting scammed. I definitely will be bringing my corolla back here again for any car maintenance.

They were able to take in my car the very next day. The service: I received texts with photos during the entire diagnostic process - amazing. I had a problem with warning notifications that another place had told me was because some sensors were going bad. Nope. Angel fixed it by just replacing the battery. The sensors weren't getting enough voltage... I had the brakes done, brake line flushed, and battery replaced in a few hours, and the car was ready to be picked up the same day - all at a great price. Angel was a pleasure to work with. Their customer service is top-notch, and they set expectations clearly, which makes for a great overall experience. It's hard to say enough without sounding repetitive, but one thing that truly stands out is Ethil. He clearly puts his customers' needs and satisfaction first (I'm sure often above his own). His integrity and genuine care show in everything he does, and it's reflected in his team as well, which is rare to find these days. The quality of the work is outstanding, but the man behind the business is even more impressive. Respect Auto Works lives up to its name, and I highly recommend them.

END UPDATE For years I have been able to rely on and trust the staff of Gateway Automotive. Today when my car died outside of the library I called the shop and Ryan assured me that if I towed it over they would take care of it so I did. I was immediately greeted by the staff and Ryan went straight to work. The problem was diagnosed and repaired in less than 2 hours. He was direct, accurate and incredibly helpful. I am grateful for his hard work. The entire staff is friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I ALWAYS recommend this shop for the fact that they've never been wrong and have always been honest. Loaded to the sideboards my daughter Hannah and I set off for Bridgeport Ca, (eastern sierras) last Saturday. My normally smooth running 2014 Jeep Wrangler 3.6 l v6 suddenly developed a serious issue. Pulling over to O'Reilly's in Oakdale as soon as the engine light started flashing resulted in me finding out that I had a cylinder 6 misfire and no local mechanics able to take a look. I noticed in Modesto Sergio's shop with 4.9 stars and called. He was able to fit me in. We limped in to Modesto where we found his shop. Walking through the graveyard of trucks was not encouraging but Sergio's son was...He re-assured us that his dad and uncle would fix everything. Thus began a 4.5 hour adventure of getting back on the road. Our experience at Sergio's involved his (and his brother's) methodical diagnostic process. At every stage we were informed about the procedure and their findings. It was a 97 degree day but cool in the air conditioned office where Sergio's family brought us water and assured us all would be well. The troubleshooting, test driving and removals (many times) of the manifold resulted in Sergio's methodical diagnostic. (I was a mechanic for 4 years I know)...New NGK spark plugs, ignition coils and even prayers to the Virgin of Guadalupe resulted in our Jeep leaving in tip top shape. Hannah and I spent the next three days driving over the 26% grade of Sonora Pass, 4 wheeling to Bodie and returning. The Jeep has never run better (153,438 miles). It is currently getting better mileage than it ever has (20.2) and climbing hills more efficiently. I only wish we didn't live in San Jose. Sergio's family Car Service and Junkyard is a place of integrity, hard work, honesty and caring. They want nothing more than for you to trust them to fix your car the best it can be fixed. One thing I truly appreciate about Alex is that he has never tried to overcharge me or make me feel like I don't understand what's going on with my car.
