The entire space…read moreis beautifully designed with floral details everywhere -- it's easily one of the most aesthetic brunch spots in the area. The presentation of the food is stunning. Every dish looks like it was made for photos, but it actually delivers on taste too. The drinks and desserts were especially memorable -- light, fresh, and not overly sweet. It's definitely more of an experience-driven place, so expect it to be on the pricier side. But if you're going for a cute brunch, a girls' day, or content creation, it's 100% worth it. Service was friendly, though it can get busy, so I'd recommend making a reservation. Overall, if you're in the Bay Area and want a brunch spot that's both visually beautiful and enjoyable, Son & Garden is a must-visit.

Our…read morereservation was at 1:00, but from the moment we arrived, the hostess kept repeating that the kitchen closed at 1:30. It was said so many times that the whole table immediately felt rushed instead of welcomed. To make matters worse, we were seated on the outdoor patio during a cold, windy day, and the heat lamps didn't seem to work. Not exactly the best setting when hosting business guests. Even though we arrived on time, menus didn't come until around 1:15, which left us with barely any time to order before the hard 1:30 cutoff they kept warning us about. Then right at 1:30, we were told the kitchen and bar were closed, so no additional food or drinks could be ordered. I ordered the stone pot bibimbap and it missed the mark. The rice should have that crispy texture from the hot stone bowl, but instead it was wet, mushy, and didn't feel like a true bibimbap experience. The most disappointing part was being asked to leave around 2:15 while people were still finishing their food and drinks. Overall, it felt more like we were being managed out the door than hosted. I was genuinely embarrassed to have brought corporate guests here.

Multiple floors of monotony and sameness, an ode to neutrals. I imagine that someone who loves neutral palettes would want this stuff. I felt starved for color and vibrance, which if you're looking for, you will not find here. I'm not sure who the target demographic customer is for this place, e.g. in all my years, I've never been to a home with a massive grecian bust as decor. Maybe this is for a commercial establishment? If someone was looing for an off white huge sofar with stuffed cushions, and willing to pay more, this would fit the bill. It has a completely different ethos from what they were over a decade ago when they had way more interesting, well-built furniture, e.g. we have an RH eight person dining table/seat set we got from them over twenty years ago--it's classic and standfs time, a gorgeous polished piece of wood. They truly don't make them like that, as the sayin g goes--and RH these days definitely doesn't sell like these.

That being said, our server broke one of our wine glass while serving us, they were out of Migration and Caymus, the only two wines we wanted to try, and my sea bass was the most undercooked fish I have ever been served at a restaurant - and it's a relatively pricy dish on their menu. I was do disappointed. I didn't want to complain and have it sent back because they were already taking so long to get food out. As for positives: the grilled avocado and caviar was delicious; the butterscotch dessert was very rich, but delicious. If they sold that in a jar, I would have walked away with it. At one point, the server offered us a complimentary shrimp appetizer - maybe they noticed they were falling short on our experience and tried to sweeten the deal. Appreciated the effort. Maybe their brunch is stronger. I can only imagine what those glass ceilings would do to the place on a bright clear day.

We ordered cocktails "Flying Ace" and "Cielo Rosa", Forager Flatbread, and Roasted Beet Salad, and cheese plate. The cocktails were fun and inventive, but maybe a bit too complex for us. The Flying Ace was a smoky old fashioned type drink with a charred cinnamon stick. Maybe the wrong choice for a sunny afternoon outdoor venue. The Cielo Rosa, with mezcal and jalapeño has a lot going on as well. The forager had great mushroom flavor and loved the roasted garlic. The first bites were great- wish they could have kept the crust crispier for later bites. (Heated plate works well) The beet salad was really good. The crushed pistachios really contrasted well with the beets.

It's inside The Ameswell Hotel, with a spacious layout, aviation-inspired design, and a relaxed indoor/outdoor feel that's rarely crowded during daytime hours. They serve coffee drinks and food. The vibe works well for getting work done between sips of coffee. 1-2 stars for the food: they really need to redesign the entire menu completely, in my opinion. The dishes I tried were just underwhelming and did not justify the price point, not even bakery. There is a strange mismatch between the location/ambiance and food. I mostly just stick to the coffee right now. Bonus point for getting to test robot delivery. :D

OK, I'm going to be honest here. When you come from LA, you have been exposed to the best of the…read morebest so you are a bit more critical. Not sad after spending a few days in Sacramento I would say that this was probably the best place they they had. The restaurant was very cute and it was a vibe, but the food was honestly pretty mid. It wasn't bad but it definitely wasn't anything mind blowing. And we went safe with pizza, pasta, and meatballs. The cocktails were really good though. And the service was good. I would say if you are in Sacramento this is probably one of the best places you're going to find. So my rating of 4 is more so compared to other places in Sacramento.

We were 15 mins late to our 6pm reservation and understood that we would now be treated as a walk in guest. The hostess was extremely rude and told us that they have a 15 min late policy and that we could get a drink at the bar while we wait for our table. She said it would be about a 15 min wait for a table to open up. The bar was already over crowded with several other people waiting for a table. I also overheard another group of women saying they missed their table and were waiting to be seated. There was really no place to wait or stand, it is clearly a fire hazard to have so many people blocking the enterance/exit. Even the bartender was struggling to get around everyone blocking the walk way. After about 10 mins, I asked my husband if they took down our name for the waitlist. When he went back to confirm, a different hostess said that it's now a 30 min wait and that we weren't added to the waitlist when we first walked in.... The first hostess was so quick to dismiss us for missing our reservation, she didn't even put our names down. We would have been happy to wait if she wasn't so rude and dismissive. We decided to leave after it kept getting more and more crowded and had a MUCH better dining experience at Zocalo. Recommend reading all the bad reviews here before dinning here - there's a lot that point out poor customer service.

Since it was our first time, I played it safe and had ceased salad with added grilled chicken. Portion size was enough for two people. Overall, I would give the food a good rating. Server (Diego) was also good! On the flipside, the bathrooms were TERRIBLE (not clean) and if you use any type of walking device beware, wheelchairs won't fit through the door and the two small stalls were a joke. They need to reevaluate the meaning of a handicap bathroom(not to mention the door doesn't have a button to open or close). I plan to dine there again but hopefully, they do something about the bathroom soon. Oh, and the ambiance outside was very nice for picture purposes

We ended up celebrating my birthday a little late here, and it was absolutely worth it. The restaurant itself is beautiful--my friend took so many great photos. It has very romantic vibes, but I was also surprised by how many larger groups were dining there, like work teams out for dinner. There are so many photo-worthy spots throughout the space. Now, let's talk about the food. I started with a glass of Pinot Noir. The truffle fries had great flavor, though they could've been cooked a bit longer. That said, the Caesar salad was incredible. It's so hard to find a restaurant with a truly good Caesar dressing, and this one nailed it. I'm literally craving it as I write this. We split it as an appetizer, and it's a generous portion--if you order it on your own, definitely add chicken or salmon. For our mains, my friend ordered the blackened salmon and I had the lamb chops. The truffle purée and potatoes that came with the lamb were a bit too salty for my taste, but the lamb itself was cooked absolutely perfectly. The blackened salmon was also a hit--no misses there. We were both very happy with our dishes. We finished with the molten cake, and I asked nicely if they could add raspberries and almonds, which they happily accommodated. Overall, this place still deserves five stars. There were a few minor things I would personally tweak, but we'd absolutely come back to try more dishes. That Caesar salad, though? I'm ordering it again--no question. Definitely check this place out!
