I had an amazing time at this studio. It was actually my first time here. Off the back, the studio environment felt very cozy, & the staff was very welcoming. I did a Beginners 2 Pole Class with Sam. Sam was absolutely amazing. She made sure to check in with everyone in the class each step of the way. She also remembered my name. There's nothing like trying a new move & your instructor, who you just met a few minutes prior saying "YAAASSSS WHITNEY". Like wow, she remembered my name haha. May sound silly, but it made me feel very welcomed. That's huge for me. I was definitely challenged in this class, but absolutely motivated once it was over. I took a conditioning class here over the summer to see if I wanted to switch over studios as this one would be more convenient with much better options... so I thought. After I finished my contract with another studio I checked out the classes for the following day and saw classes I would be interested in taking with the conditioning classes I had in mind. Little did I know there weren't any conditioning classes. They had one invert conditioning class per week with an instructor who I don't care for and that was it. There are at least three at the smaller studio I was going to before. Unfortunately, one was instructed by the same instructor I can't stand so that leaves two classes. I work the other day so I only have access to one of their conditioning classes. It's weird having such a plethora of classes but no conditioning. That sends a bad message and that's one reason why I didn't know the importance of conditioning classes because it wasn't offered at the spaces I've gone to back in the day. Now that I know better I do better. Now I'm stuck in a monthly contract with them and I can't even get access to the most important part of pole. Can't respond to comments on IG but still posting. Their app is minimal. There's no email address on the app nor is their policy on the app yet when you're on the site they keep trying to get you to download the app and redirect you there. There's tons of open pole play though if that's what you're looking for from a studio. That's a waste of credits for me. I have a pole. I'm so annoyed and disappointed I wasted my money on this. Edit to add: I was sent a passive-aggressive email about them not being mind readers when it comes to offering conditioning classes as if that's not a non-negotiable in your pole journey. Amazing first class! Came last night for the Intro to Pole with Alex-- he was amazing! Gave great feedback and corrections and made sure everyone was having a great time! The facility is so quaint and impeccably clean. The room does get hot so you will definitely break a sweat. The pole can be super intimidating especially for me being that I have -5% upper body strength, but I felt 100% comfortable during class. I read previous reviews that the girls can be a bit catty/cliquey- didn't happen to me thank God! I started pole back in January at Incredipole and immediately fell in love. The instructors are kind, supportive, and make you feel confident the moment you step into the class. Not only did I invite friends to take classes with me, but I also made friends in the classes I attended alone. It seems that everyone that works there, and attends classes there, are all equally as respectful and friendly. Unfortunately in February I sustained a pretty bad back injury. I have a connective tissue disease that makes it incredibly easy for me to sustain injuries and takes a WHILE for me to heal properly. I called Incredipole and explained the situation and Sharon was super understanding and helpful. She put my account on hold and told me I could come back and use the rest of the classes I had purchased whenever I got better. This meant so much to me as I knew I had a long road ahead. Well, by August I am still in pain and sustained yet another injury. It was looking bleak so I asked my doctor if I'd ever be able to return to pole ... the response was not what I had hoped and I had to settle with the fact that unfortunately, pole is just not for my accident-prone body. I called and spoke with Kirstin who was understanding, patient, and beyond helpful. They were able to refund me for the classes I purchased and wouldn't be able to use. I am so sad I won't be able to return to Incredipole, so if you're considering attending classes here, stop considering and just do it. What a gem of a studio! read more

Took my first class this week for open level conditioning, using ClassPass. The process was super easy, the check in transaction consisting of giving my name and filling out the first time client form. From the outside the place is incognito, but there's a sign pointing to enter through the courtyard into a very cute 2-level studio space. The interior is chic and rustic, with wooden planks and a fireplace, and white curtains over one wall and a mirror along the other. During the class the teacher also turned the disco lights on to make it a real party atmosphere! The stretches and drills were challenging but not too daunting, and the teacher was available to help at any point. It felt like a great workout and was super supportive, but only the next day did I feel the real grunt of it! I was sore for the next few days, in the best possible way. Will definitely be back here and excited to try the other classes! read more

(Wish I could give 3.5, cause it's not quite 4 stars but it's more than 3) I took the Intro to Pole class. FAQ on the website said we can wait at the mezzanine if we arrive early (and we were also told to arrive 15 early if we're new--which I was) but we couldn't find our way up there. Doors were all locked and there was minimal signage. There's no reception. Not a big deal. My instructor Alex was amazing- made the effort to remember our names, played lots of Lizzo (yessssss), and made sure everyone was comfortable. Downsides- even though it was my first class, I didn't get a workout. I was hoping to get my ass kicked but I didn't even sweat. It was just slightly underwhelming. Maybe it's the nature of intro classes, and there being 9 other students so we had to share poles, but we only learned 3-4 moves the entire class, and had to clean the pole about every 3-5 minutes. Half of class was waiting for the rest of class to try what we just tried. Overall it was still really fun. I think I'll try the beginner class, hopefully that'll be more intense. But I read somewhere that you have to take two Intro classes before you can move on? I could be wrong. read more

This studio is cool, I love the anterior and people there: amazing students and teachers. Love the name of the studio too, very creative! I felt comfortable at the studio, I am pretty chunky thanks to the pandemic, so I get really insecure at other studios because most women there are so so fit. At Incredipole I was surrounded by people all kinds of race, body shape, gender and sexual orientation. Amazing location and affordable prices. What I DO NOT like is that no one picks up the phone and whoever is responsible for the customer service has no idea what they are doing. This has been my favorite pole studio as a beginner (started pole ~1.5 months ago and completely fell in love with it). I am based in Boston but have visited most of the studios in Manhattan. I was immediately struck by how friendly and open the vibe at IncrediPole is--the space feels very inviting and homey, and all the instructors I've taken classes from have been exceptionally friendly and professional. I felt really comfortable being a beginner here, even in classes where the other students were more advanced. I took three classes here and always had lots of individualized attention from teachers. In only one of the classes did we need to share poles, and even then the teacher took the time to learn everyone's names and spend time with each of us individually. Great studio and classes but I second the review on the students acting cliquey and generally unwelcoming. I thought I was the only one who experienced this. There was one occasion where a woman aggressively told me that the pole I was about to use was "her" pole. Ummm are we in the first grade??! I had to politely inform her that there were 5 other poles in the studio and I'd be MORE than happy to share with her. It's quite disturbing and bizarre to see adult women fighting over a pole to use in a dance class. I have been coming to this studio for a while so I'm used to the cliques but I can totally understand why this would be really off-putting to new students to the point where they wouldn't want to return. read more

Despite being one of the closest pole studios to my current home, I only recently started pole'ing at IncrediPole - this, in fact, is its strength: it's a hidden gem, y'all! This is by far the most unusual studio I've been to - and I've been many (see my Pole Dance Yelp list). Here is why I dig it; - The space: it's an old church! It's like dancing in a forbidden space. The vaulted ceiling gives it a very light and airy. The fireplace gives it a homey feel. The high poles this space can take, of course, is also an advantage - Instructors: top notch instructors! Internationally renown choreographers, performers and competitors teach and train here under the radar. While they don't have as many classes as the larger studios in Manhattan, the variety they offer is plenty. - Class size: I've never had to share poles here... maybe because it's a hidden gem? Either way I've experienced good instructior-to-student ratio so I don't ever feel left behind - The vibe: you know there is this debate in the corporate world on setting up conferences in a U shape, or classroom style? Well same goes for the pole community and IncreidiPole is the first place I've dance where classes are taught with students facing each other. They have positioned mirrors on almost all walls so you will get to see yourself. This orientation alone is so reflective of the studio owner's philosophy. Overall, loving it. I just took my first class here last night and had a blast. I took Mixed Level Pole with Roz the Diva. I've been taking pole dance on and off for the past few years at assorted studios, but this class was a great refresher and workout. Roz is an excellent instructor -- she breaks down the moves and keeps the class entertained. My class was all female. Everyone was very welcoming and kind. Overall, the vibe of the studio is relaxed and happy. This is not a competitive place, unlike many other studios in Manhattan. Everyone is there to have a good time and learn some new techniques. Getting to the studio: To get to Incredipole, first you need to go through a gate and then a courtyard at 145 Java St., then up a staircase at the back of the courtyard. Remove your shoes at the top of the stairs and place them on the shoe rack. Studio itself: There are about 6-7 poles here. Four of the poles are super tall poles -- around 20 feet tall. I've never worked on such tall poles!! There are two small bathroom stalls and cubbies for keeping your purse and coat. I changed in a tiny bathroom stall. You could also opt to change in the loft space up the stairs, but that is not very private. There is very little space/privacy to change, so I would recommend coming dressed and ready for pole. The room is old and it gets cold in there. They have equipped the room with about 10 heat lamps to keep things warm, and I was plenty warm by the end of class. Studio mascot: There is a medium-sized dog named Gypsy who is the studio mascot. I think she is the owner's dog. She sort of wanders around the room during stretching time. During the pole time, she runs upstairs to the loft and looks down on everyone doing their pole routines. She is a friendly dog! While i was stretching out at the end of class she came up and started sniffing my back lol. read more

I wanted to go in for simple basics and got a little more than I asked for which is great but also a bit dangerous. Unfortunately I did not have a great experience as I hoped for my first time doing pole. I booked a class on a Tuesday with Yoon MJ. At first, I thought she was a quirky, nice, funny, and talented instructor and I thought it was going to be a fun class. However throughout the class, she began to get irritated with everyone. She never fully explained each move and she would just say "yeah, yeah just do that", and also when another girl in the class asked her for tips on a spin, Yoon just said "Um, I don't know, kind of looks right. Yeah, yeah whatever", and just walked away and continued to teach another move. She also emphasized that not pointing toes is a big pet peeves of hers, and she hates it. Like seriously!?? I know when someone is just playfully joking and she was not! She had a nasty attitude about it. I was not born doing pole nor was I a dancer at a young age, how can you expect me to remember to point my toes with every move for my first class. To teach beginners, an instructor should be encouraging, avoid making these comments, and help us feel comfortable. Maybe she had a bad day and took it out on us, but that is not an excuse. I took another pole class in the city and I had a way better experience. This just left a bad taste in my mouth and I will not be returning. read more

One of THE BEST pole studios out there! Wonderful, friendly instructors, and the new studio is absolutely stunning. The new Gowanus location has a few different (and huge!) studio spaces so that multiple classes can happen at the same time, and I love that there are individual changing rooms so that you can have a little privacy as you get in and out of your practice clothes. The studios towards the back of the building in particular are equipped with gorgeous, color-changing lights, which is wonderful for setting the mood before you go into a freestyle, and the large front studio gets a lot of beautiful natural light---it's my favorite for morning/daytime classes. The lounge area is so comfortable, I'd hang out there with the sweet studio dogs all day if I didn't have anything else going on lol. I've since moved out of the New York area, and miss the Incredipole community dearly. I feel like I'm always comparing every other studio I find to Incredipole, which I guess is unfair because the Incredipole experience is so wonderful and rich, and there really isn't another studio like it. This was the studio that made me fall in love with pole, and I absolutely plan to come through to take a bunch of classes every single time I'm back in town. read more

My experience: Had a class tonight with Michelle Yoon, Intro to Pole, and had a really great time! This was my first pole class in my life and I really enjoyed her smooth, but challenging pace. I have to thank my friend Celine, who has been going there for a week, for recommending this experience to me. IncrediPole was a fantastic first experience. Michelle's tips became so engrained in me that I found myself putting a leg up on the MTA pole out of habit ready to mount it on my way home haha. The space: This was my first visit to a dance studio in general. My class of 9 had great amount of practice on the 6 poles. And they. are. high. They supply you with matts and ample spray to clean the poles when they start to get less grip. Overall, loved the experience. As I'm sitting here typing while watching my legs sprout bruises, I recommend this place to anyone who wants to have a fun exercise while feeling your oats. Oh, and it's 2 blocks away from the G so the trek home isn't grueling after slaying it over there. read more

This is my friend's favorite pole dancing studio and I can totally see why - it's on Classpass and first-timers who are not on Classpass will cost $20. My friends and I decided to take the introduction class and were really not sure what we got ourselves into ... but we took the long ride to Brooklyn to this cute little studio. The instructor was so nice; she took the effort to get to know everyone's names and was able to walk around and help each student throughout the class. It just felt like a very chill and relaxing environment. The poles are HIGH - the ceilings are incredibly high and I imagine if I was better at pole dancing, the height of the pole might be an exciting factor, but I was really horrible during my first class and spent most of my time falling. The studio itself is pretty small - there were about 5 poles in rotation and 2-3 people at each pole, so we did have to share the pole, but it didn't feel like a big deal or that I wasn't learning as well. I would come back here, but it's just so difficult to get here (closest train is G which is like the most useless train ever) - otherwise, it's a great studio for people who find it more accessible and I would definitely recommend it for beginners. read more
