It's right by the Gowanus Expressway and about a 10 minute walk from the Prospect Avenue subway station. The 8 PM class that I attended was free (the dance party after the class is $15). There were about a dozen people in the class. Unfortunately for me, the two hottest women in the class had boyfriends/husbands. During the class, the instructor went over the basics. The class was a little helpful, but it wasn't quite worth the trip to an obscure part of Brooklyn. If you live in the area, have nothing better to do, and want to go over some basic steps then I recommend this class. If you're looking for a meat market then look elsewhere.

I purchased the Intro to Pole 4-Class Pass and found the first class's content useful and appropriate for beginners. Unfortunately, the instructor's communication style made the experience uncomfortable. Her feedback often felt abrasive and condescending rather than constructive. Another student expressed similar concerns, and although we both returned for a second class, the tone did not improve. When we encouraged each other while practicing, the instructor responded with brash commentary that made us feel belittled. I ultimately canceled my third class and chose not to return, despite having two classes remaining on my pass. I'm disappointed because I had been excited about the studio, but this experience made me feel more comfortable continuing my pole journey with someone else..

Avoid! Attempted to reach out during posted business hours to confirm a class was being held. One…read morephone number posted was out of service and another no one answered. Attempts at reaching out via Facebook also went unanswered. Frustrating to say the least. Finally managed to contact someone someone to confirm class was being held. Then I tried driving there. Supposedly there were two paid parking lots; they neglected to mention one has very few spaces that don't require a permit. The other was hard to find and closed. When I tried to call after to discuss my issues... suddenly I am back to their voicemail. Poor communication, no parking, and frustration through the roof... and I never even got to dance. Nope, never again.

Now, I hate exercise but the workout part was so fun and easy I forgot I was actually exercising! To get into the building you have to sign in, and once you get to the 16th floor there's another reception area where they direct you to class. Based on other reviews, I changed before getting there and brought a water bottle. Liz was the instructor, and she was great! So welcoming and encouraging. I was definitely sweating 10 minutes in. If you like reggae/caribbean music you should definitely try this class!

Brukwine instructors had a trick for me, this was an intense workout with lots of cardio, stretching and sweating. I think of myself as fairly good dancer when it comes to wining my waist and vibing to chunes, yes chuuunes. I learned that I am not that good with coordinated dance steps. I didn't let that defeat me because I burned calories and it was money well spent. The Ripley Greer Manhattan location does not have good changing areas. I would suggest being comfortably dressed prior and bring yourself some water. There are a couple of 5 minute breaks in between routines. Bring a friend to maximize your "fun" experience.
