I'm not a fan of the gym. Machines and weights all over the place are just not my jam. However, I would go because the way my tastebuds were set up I was always exploring some eatery. When I went I always wanted to take a dance class, cause it's fun and you don't realize your working out until you're completed soaked. Sadly, they wouldnt have multiple classes that I could take with different styles of dance. HOWEVER, I no longer have to worry about that because I found this AMAZEBALLS place!!! It's an answer to my workout with dance prayers. Which went like this... Lawd please... 1. Find me a workout dance spot 2. That's all women patrons that are nice 3. With amazing instructors, who encourage you. WON'T HE DO IT!!!! I've been to two classes (Clash after dark & Zumba) so far and I'm completely in love with this place. The vibe is just super fun and non judgemental. Which is what you need when you are starting your workout regimen again after a hiatus. The space is pretty big and looks like it can accommodate a good size class. Standard mirror and ballet barres. Coat rack out front, clean bathroom, lockers, and water fountain to hydrate yourself after you popped, dropped and locked it...LOL! I plan on making this place my home away from home. I joined Fit4Dance in November 2019 and it was one of the best decisions that I've made! I joined F4D to tone up before going on a trip and now taking classes has become part of my daily routine. They offer a variety of classes that caters to everyone's fitness needs, regardless of your experience level and the prices cannot be beat! I've always turned my back on Zumba until trying my first class recently and the fast-paced rhythm wore me out like a pair of cheap leggings. Never wanted to do Zumba after that. My friend signed us up for a class with Fit4Dance, even though I hesitated but before the class, Laci was very helpful and communicated well with us since it was our first time. I came to class a little later than anticipated but Laci was so sweet and came up to me and introduced herself. Having not enjoyed my previous Zumba experience, it's pretty safe to say that she restored my faith in Zumba again because I've been Zumba-ing more than often lately. She was all smiles and full of positive energy throughout the whole session, which is really important and stimulating to make your workout enjoyable. You could totally sense her enthusiasm and passion for dancing and it was infectious. I had a lot of fun dancing and she made sure we got the moves right by dancing with us side-by-side. The freestyle dance was my favorite part because it was so empowering and everyone was so supportive--so. much. girl power. I absolutely love love love F4D. The classes are awesome. The prices are very reasonable. You will workout. You will have fun. You will sweat. The teachers are encouraging and friendly (I've taken at least 5 different instructors and they are all super delightful). And the owner, Laci, is sunshine in human form. I actually had an old colleague who wanted to meet up for coffee. But the time conflicted with my F4D schedule. I told her that instead of meeting up over coffee we could meet up over dance!! LOL. I really like this studio. Everyone is friendly. It has a great variety of unique classes. There are fitness classes, dance classes, dance fitness classes such as Zumba and so many more. Just look through the schedule and you will see a variety of classes daily. I have taken a few classes here so far and I've really been loving it. I will be a regular. I used to go to a Caribbean Zumba class at the Bed-study YMCA every week, but it mysteriously disappeared. It was a weekly dose of joy. I was at a loss for a few years, doing other, much less fun things to work out. This January I did a class pass trial and this place popped up, a few blocks from my house. Seriously it was a dream come true. I even asked myself if I was dreaming, no joke! :) The work out is great and the staff and owner are INCREDIBLY sweet and welcoming to everyone. I don't really fit in anywhere, for the most part, and I've tried most NYC gyms over the past 20 years I've been living here. We all know the sort of attitude that is prevalent in many gyms. Not here. Illy welcomed me with open arms, and her vibe is contagiously carried out through other folks in the class. More recently, I've been doing Beach Body workouts at home because I have an irregular work schedule that doesn't let me make it to classed, but it gets hard to stay motivated. Sometimes I need that group energy to really work up a sweat. I'm so glad I found Fit4Dance. I hear they are moving to a new larger space soon, and I pray they stay in the neighborhood! read more

I take Laci's Zumba class every Wednesday and I try to not miss one day! She is inspiring, full of positive energy, and engages you to work hard and continue to try. Regardless of your level of fitness and/or activity, you will feel comfortable with her as she takes you through the steps and before you know it, you'll be working out a Sweat!! Laci can dance!!! So you will find yourself working very hard to learn and move just like her :) If you're new to Zumba, you can expect to have 2 left feet for a while, but there's no shame in it - just continue moving. Before you know it, you will learn the steps and master each and every move. The vibe of the group is easy-going and everyone in the class is very friendly. The selection of music is mixed with fun choreography providing a high energy workout. I LOVE going to this Zumba class - it is the first exercise activity that I actually look forward to. First of all Laci is an intelligent entrepreneur!!The studio is fantastic, clean, well kept -throughout the month of October she capitalized on it being breast cancer month , encouraging the ladies and all with a smile on remembering to take care of ourselves! She is a positive spirit and always an encouraging word! I tested the waters with the $20 special and since then I am going into my second month of classes as a paid patron which have been a lifesaver for me! The classes are energetic, fun and if you don't take your self seriously can really get a lot of exercise and solace out of your times there! This studio is amazing and has a family vibe that keeps you coming back. There's classes for anyone no matter what style of movement you're looking to get into or your fitness level. All the classes seem to be open level so anyone can join in. Theres children classes as well as adult classes offered and within those classes there are a variety of ages, abilities, and sizes so you will fit it no matter where you are on the spectrum. I've been going to Fit4Dance since September and I am obsessed! I was initially drawn to the convenient offering of day classes, but now I go whenever I have a chance. The classes are so much fun, the mix of music is amazing and will have you moving everyTHING, and the studio is bright and warm. But more important than all of that is that Laci, the owner, is just a wonderful teacher. She is all positivity and light, and she genuinely loves what she does and it shows in EACH and EVERY class...which is kind of unbelievable! I seriously love these women! They are both truly inspiring and fun to be around. LaShawn and Laci make working out bearable, with fun routines that you definitely know/feel that you are burning calories. Their Brooklyn and the city locations are just perfect and with a busy work schedule i always am able to make at least one a week. If you want to have fun - laugh - and feel the burn..these classes will absolutely do it for you! i see a difference in my body every week and when i am consistent in going i see that i am able to keep up with no problem. I sometimes double up on my workouts on Wed. with their back to back classes Zumba + Sweat choreography and after i feel awesome. I absolutely love Fit4dance. I started in around February and I haven't stopped . I go multiple times a week and try all different classes . Considering the fact that I live in Rosedale, yet travel all the way to Brooklyn to attend says a lot . Each instructor is unique and each style of dance is a fun great workout . The owner Lacey is the sweetest person ever . I've seen so much improvement in myself and others dancing and even shed some pounds. Fit4dance has a positive , warm ,welcoming environment (I've been to other studios around the city that we're super snobby and negative). My experience with Fit4Dance has been the best workout experience I've ever had. Laci is more than a fitness instructor, she's an inspiration. She genuinely cares about every one of her students and will take the time to get to know you and hold you accountable in a way that makes you feel supported. Her positivity and bright smile will make you smile and laugh when you feel like you want to give up! I am in the middle of my pregnancy and have never been more motivated to work out in my life. This is a class that literally everyone can participate in!!!! Whether you are super fit or just starting your journey getting into shape this class will challenge you and at the same time not leave you feeling discouraged like you are not able to keep up or follow along with the steps. Many people feel intimidated by Zumba because they think that it is over complicated and too fast paced but with an instructor like Laci she does this from her heart and always keeps a keen awareness of the class and will help you when needed. I had been meaning to take a class at Fir4Dance for awhile now after stumbling across the glowing reviews, so finally took the plunge. I originally signed-up online for what I thought was the 1pm Zumba class but instead turned out to be a Qoya class. I thought I was walking into some sort of choreographed seance but was super surprised to find the practice of Qoya and the class meditative + grounding. I actually took the Fit4Dance class at DANY Studios in midtown. Laci is super energetic, encouraging, and very warm. Despite being super uncoordinated, she never made me feel like I was lagging behind, she just made sure we all had fun. I will say that the class is probably not the best for novices or people who have no hand-eye coordination like myself. It IS a fun way to sweat it out and keep it moving, if Zumba and other fast-paced, high energy dance workouts are for you. read more

Laci is the most fun, sweet, gentle, kindhearted, and patient dance teacher I've ever had! She spices things up with new moves every week. Laci has a great knowledge of Michael Jackson style dancing (Thriller, Will You Be There) and Bhangra. I've been lucky enough to be taught by Laci every week for almost a year. If you want bootcamp style class, she can do it easily, but also is the best for people like me with injuries that need tender loving care (would make a great prenatal teacher too). She loves teaching kids to dance and do yoga, and I'm sure they love her sweet self! read more

You know the moment when you're in a fitness class and you shoot the instructor an evil look because they are really challenging you? That happened to me in Laci's Zumba class. Her class is no joke! It works every muscle in my body and then some. Yet, it is so much FUN and engaging and her energy is unbelievable. How does she do this all week and still give 100% in each class? Her smile is infectious and she's also very encouraging and diligent about correcting our form, in order to prevent injuries. I don't have a lot of time to work out, so when I do, I want to feel like I didn't waste my time. I've taken Zumba classes in the past that get to the cooldown and I wonder when we even started. I didn't even break a sweat! That has never been the case in Laci's class. I pray for the cooldown in hers. Lol. read more
