First time in my life two people sent their dishes back. The lobster gnocchi dish was just a poor plate. The lobster was rubbery and the gnocchi was tasteless. We also had ravioli with ox tail - ok Tenderloin - ok Rabbit Ragu with linguini - favorite Cod - that was better than ok. Risotto - not ok, tasted like Velveeta cheese Service was better than average restaurant in Amsterdam We went to the Winkel 43 to lift our spirits after the dinner with the taste of the best apple pie

Incanto is an authentic Italian restaurant in the Heat of Amsterdam. We arrived 20 minutes before they opened and all the staff was having their early dinner. Even though we did not have a reservation they let us stay and prepared us some cocktails until they finished. All the staff is Italian and they were extremely polite and friendly, they made us feel at home and welcome. The food was beyond amazing and the bottle of Chianti we chose was superb. We finished our courses with home made gelato and limoncello. Thank you Incanto for a wonderful experience

Went on the recommendation of my boss and was not disappointed. The food was incredible, the service exceptional and the atmosphere lovely. We started with some shrimp that was wrapped in some kind of a, well I don't really know what it was wrapped in -- but it was delicious. I wanted to eat 10 of them. The next course we had the lobster gnocchi and I can tell you that it was one of the most delicious things I've ever eaten. The flavors were complex and robust and it made my mouth so happy. I finished with a veal chop and then followed by the chocolate lava cake. I can already hear everyone saying, "wow how did she eat all that??". I'm not exactly sure but I would go back and do it again any day. On my list of all time favs.

We've had dinner here 3 or 4 times. We won't come back again. Last night we arrived at our booked table, with our kids. We take'm out to restaurants at least 2 per week, so they know how to behave, eat, sit, respond to waiters and order their food. Well... Let's start with 5 stars. The place, location and staff is great!! -1 star. My stepsons pork was so pink, it was still bleeding (and talking) - 2 stars. My stepdaughters pasta was so small, and really only pasta in olive oil with bottarga... Just a small hand full. She was so bored with the food. Yes, we have completely spoiled their taste buds with amazing restaurants... Incanto was not one of them. (No there are no side dishes on the menu) - 3 stars. My pasta was super al dente, it was almost raw. When I poked it with my knife, the rigoletto almost crumbled. I kid you not. Sent it back and got very wet and cooked to death gnocchi with the same (but less) sauce from the rigoletto. I mean, really the same. The artichoke was cooked to death and had no structure left. -4 stars. They made Lucas, our 8 yr old a very nice pasta. "With meaty red sauce!" He was not complaining: he was happy, I tasted it...it was so bland, I could have given it to a newborn. The wine was great! The staff was great! Setting was great! No, We like really good food. This wasn't it. Super disappointed. We used to like you.

My hotel (The Banks Mansion) suggested Incanto as a high-end Italian dining experience. Traveling alone, I jumped at the opportunity to try it. I walked away very satisfied, with a warm/fuzzy post dining feel. I had no reservation but was fortunate to be seated near the back between two larger tables (this place is small so the largest table is a 6-top.) My server was attentive and helpful with suggestions and a warm smile. Chairs comfortable and ambience a "10". Tables are close together as are all Amsterdam venues, but that was not a concern for me. One note of caution - steep stairs lead to this establishment. I did not see a lift. The prawns are a must - done just right, melt in the mouth buttery feel paired nicely with the spinach purée. My entree was the mushroom risotto. Perfect! Just the right portion, with earthy aroma and soft, ultra creamy finish. Ask for parmesan to top it off! Cheers!

The view from the kitchen is even amazing here!

If you're looking for amazing views of Amsterdam and a fantastic northern italian dining experience look no farther than Incanto. The regular dining room is amazing and the little birdhouse room above that, next to the spectacular kitchen, is a magical and intimate 4 table perch. Phenomenal food and views of two canals and the clock tower (plus some bonus kitchen energy and close-access to the bathrooms) make the up-upstairs worth the hike (do not attempt in high-heels however!). The mushroom risotto is fantastic, so is the veal cheek and lobster gnocchi. Good value for quality at €160 for two.

Amazing place and good view! Very relaxing atmosphere and nicely decorated. The staff is mostly Italian I think, and you can get a full experience. Try the chefs menu, it's worth it.

We came without a reservation at 19:30 with 6 people. We got a great table on the podium. The food was quite pricey but excellent, just as the wine. The kitchen in the 3rd floor was open to guests who wanted a peek and the service was outstanding!

    Best dessert ever!

Wonderful food. A respite from the maddening crowds of tourists. One flight up, with a nice view. Certainly recommended.

I had the 4 course chef's menu and, from the amuse bouche to the cheese course, this was a virtuoso performance.

Another very nice Italian place in the little Italy street from Amsterdam…read more Don't expect pizza's here though this is a real kitchen! This very small Italian is always packed. In the open kitchen you can see (and hear!) the chef work his magic. The bread, the starters, the fresh home made pasta's and the secondi's are all amazing. They import a lot from Italy themselves, and you can even but a bottle of olive oil here. The place is full of ferrari signs, foto's of Sophia Loren, etc. It feels like a second home. Great for a nice romantich night out or a double date, maybe not so good if you go with more then 4 people, as the place is very small. Expect to spend about 115 euro for 2 persons incl a bottle of wine. Make sure you reserve a table!

On the outside it doesn't look all too fancy. Inside, the tables are closely arranged; making getting up from your table quite a challenge at times. However the waitress was friendly, and the atmosphere cosy. I had the truffle tagliatelle, which tasted excellent, but sadly wasn't cooked properly; it stuck together. Same goes for the pasta with sausage we had. Maybe the secondi taste better, but I'm not prone to go check them out after this experience. All in all, good service, but for the pricing they might pay a little more attention to the food.
