There are few things in life that can make me feel the way a Flying Dutchman, only 1 cheese, whole grilled wrapped, with a neo shake can make me feel. My wedding, the moment my wife and I found out we were pregnant, the first time the Seahawks won the Super Bowl... these all live within the same universe of happiness. Hyperbole (super-bole?) aside, in-n-out is a fantastic place to come and enjoy burgers and fries with friends and family. The menu is simple, it's one of the cheaper options around, and consistently good. They do have a lot of "secret menu" items but the staff is very willing to help you get what you're looking for. I grew up on the west coast and I'm happy to have one of these in Franklin! read more

So I gave in and waited in that long line in the drive thru. First off , the service and every person I encountered was a 5 star. Very friendly and helpful. Excellent service. The food? Omg , awful!! The fries were not even cooked thoroughly. Worst fries I've encountered in a long time. The double cheeseburger ( I got the #1 meal ) was below average. Maybe it's just me , but this place is so over rated and for what?? A very below average meal? McDonald's and Chik Fil A are right across the street. I'll stick with them , thank you very much. I've missed In-N-Out so much since leaving CA years ago. I was so excited when they opened in TN. We stopped on our way to and from Atlanta to had lunch at the Franklin location. On the first stop, we arrived during peak hours. We still managed to find a front row parking spot, walk in and order immediately, and find a table. The food was as good as always (double double animal style). On the way back, we stopped at 10:30 (opening time) but there were already people dining inside and being served at the drive-thru when we walked in at 10:30 on the dot. I hate myself for eating In-N-Out in Tennessee. This is spiritually illegal. This burger belongs in California, within 12 feet of a beach, a sunset, and at least one guy named Chad or Brad playing a ukulele. Not in a parking lot next to a Dollar General and emotional instability. I ordered a 3x3 like I had something to prove to society. Then I absolutely annihilated it in under 2 minutes. No chewing, just violence. I blacked out halfway through and came back covered in sauce like I just survived a small war. And yes, I filmed it. Because if you're going to make bad decisions, you document them like a National Geographic special. "Here we see the grown man in his natural habitat, destroying his dignity bite by bite." While visiting Franklin we had to try this place to see what all the hype was about. Arrived at 11:45 to a large body of organized chaos. The parking lot is huge. The line for the drive through is as large as a racetrack. They have someone at the door when the waiting line reaches it to direct you to a register line inside based on the number in your party. The line wait time to receiving our food was 25 minutes. We both got the #2. A burger with a single patty with cheese, fries, and a drink. The burger was good but I would get the double patty as the single gets a bit lost with the other fresh toppings. I noticed most of the burgers coming out were doubles. The fries were good. They are from whole potatoes, cut in house, and fried in sunflower oil. The inside dining area is bright and cheerful. It's well worth a stop. read more

It was great and the wait wasn't terrible. We dined in, and had great burgers and shakes. The cheese fries are not Steak and Shake. The cheese hardened on top. That probably means it's closer to real cheese, but I still like Steak and Shake cheese fries better. I'll just get regular fries next time. I LOVE the Bible verses on all the packaging and cups! Even though they were very busy, the staff was very nice and efficient! The store is big and has a lot of seating, but it's still pretty busy when you go there, we waited 30 minutes from ordering to receiving our food. As a California native I am excited that In-N-Out is in Tennessee. I have visited the other new locations as well and they are all amazing. We braved the lengthy lines and crowds to give In N Out a try. They were very prepared for the large crowds and had help directing parking. While there is plenty of parking, it may include a short walk to the restaurant if you are going inside. ALL the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Give them 10 stars! They stay busy clearing and cleaning and checked on us regularly. The counter staff was also great. My only complaint was that the menu is VERY simple and you can order things not listed on the menu so that is a bit of a learning curve. (the not so secret menu is what they call it but it's no where listed in the restaurant) Fortunately we knew we could order a "grilled cheese" for our toddler friend who was with us. That is basically a burger bun with cheese and she loved it so thumbs up. The place was packed so folks were roaming and looking for space to sit. Thankfully due to the aforementioned adorable toddler with us, we caught the eye of some folks who were vacating. There is outside seating but the day we went it was too cold to take advantage of that. The burgers were very good as were the fries. However we wished we had known to order "animal" style on the fries as they could have benefitted from the upgrade to include melted American cheese, caramelized onions, and their signature creamy spread. Hands down, this is the BEST burger and fries around. The price is less than popular fast food burger places nearby, but the food quality is far better. Yes, the lines can get long. Go during off hours, and enjoy less wait for a late lunch or early dinner. I didn't want to like this place. Our CA neighbors kept going on and on about it, so we finally tried it. IT WAS AMAZING! And the service has been great every time we've come. How these guys can be that kind and happy on a 100 degree day while they're standing on hot asphalt is beyond me, but they did it with a smile. I knew it! I knew it! I knew it! I knew that I'd be in Franklin on a visit, and be here for the opening of the Franklin In-N-Out. For months I was wondering when it would open. No more wondering, no more waiting. The cat is finally out of the bag. In-N-Out has finally been unleashed on the fine hamlet of Franklin, and what a debut it was. Streams of anxious patrons poured onto the property located on Double Double Drive. All, joined in unison, for one experience. That being, the taste of freshness. The new kid delivered. Every bite a joy of nostalgia. A burger as it should be, and with a smile. Actually, more smiles than I could count! Every employee was beaming. Friendly as all get out too. As busy as they were, there was still time for some banter. I had a blast. It was like waiting in line for Disneyland. The taste of anticipation was almost overwhelming. The taste of the food was exhilarating. The smell of the burgers cooking, intoxicating. In my opinion, the Franklin opening is a huge success, and will be so for years to come. Quick Tip: Actually not a Tip. More of an amusing observation. While waiting in the drive thru line, a young employee was walking between the double line of cars with a sign. She was hocking In-N-Out merch. It immediately reminded me of waiting in line to cross the border into the U.S. from Mexico. If you've experienced that scenario, you'll know what I mean. Scores of entrepreneurs badgering you to buy everything from plaster skulls to ponchos. You won't have to endure this though. The girl mentioned that today, Sunday opening weekend, was the last day for pushing the merch on unsuspecting drive thru customers. LoL, just an amusing observation. I eat In and Out every time I'm out west and I considered it a special treat to get it on the way home from a vacay in FL. My kids had never tried it so it was going to be a first. We practically ran out of gas pushing for a dinner/gas stop in Franklin just to go to this place. Careful with navigation, it messed us up trying to have us enter from the back side instead of right off the highway and we ended up on a very long accidental detour on 840 west before getting back 65 and just taking the exit that drops you literally at the front door. I can't understand why navigation wants you to enter from the west, it was not hard to get in from the east on the main road the restaurant sits on. This location is a beast. It's gigantic and has a huge parking lot. And it was 100% completely jam packed full. The drive through line was way longer than any I have EVER seen at chick fil a, and I thought that was impressive. We went in to eat, ordered pretty quickly, then circled like vultures waiting for someone to get up from a table. I think there were like 15 families doing the same thing. It was scary and intimidating. Once we pounced on a family and scared them into leaving probably sooner than they wanted (so sorry), we sat at a dirty table that was quickly cleaned by a bright-eyed smiling young thing. I think they must employ every teenager in the town. It took quite a while for our food. For me, it was worth the wait. I ordered a double double and it was just like it was supposed to be, although maybe a little light on the sauce. My kids were a huge disappointment to me. One got a double double plain and declared that there was too much cheese. This is my kid that loves every cheeseburger she has ever met, and she didn't like an In and Out double double. Other kid got a single cheese with ketchup and pickle. She doesn't generally like burgers and this was no exception. I was sure they would love the fries, but they declared them "weird" and not enough salt. they were right on the salt, but that's easily fixed with some extra salt. 3 fries were more than enough for all 4 of us. What was supposed to be a quick dinner stop for some burgers took a full hour, and no one was as impressed as I hoped. I got a lot of grief when we arrived home at midnight instead of 11 because of that "stupid burger stop". Hopefully once the novelty wears off, the lines will move quicker. If you change your mind, there's an empty chick-fil-a right across the street. read more

We came at around 2:00 and it was super busy in the drive thru but going inside is always much better. It's still busy and a bit loud, but as always it's sparkling clean! The lady at the register was super friendly and read back the order to make sure it was right. The price is also great, three of us ate for $21, with a burger each, 2 shakes, and a fry. The food itself was very good. Of course the burgers are the best, super juicy and delicious. The fries were good, they are a bit dry but nice and salty and hot. The shakes are a bit bland but they feel calm and natural, and having a fry after a sip of shake is a delicious contrast. read more

After reading the reviews about how good it was. Went here for a change of burger joints. Got my food fairly quick, order was correct. All good signs, but tasted the food. Burger nothing special about it, taste ok, not what I was expecting after the reviews. Next the fries, they had a funky taste which was caused by leaving the pealing on. Doing this changes the taste and is not the healthiest thing due to all the chemicals used to grow them that come in contact with the skin. Will I go back maybe if I want something different and will skip the fries. read more
