I popped in for lunch before an appointment at the nearby medical complex and the experience was as expected from service to food. Inside seating and layout is standard for a Firehouse, but given their location on the complex, they have a few outdoor tables and seating options as well. I always go with a Turkey Bacon Ranch or New York Steamer at FH, and they always come out hot, tasty and as expected. That was my experience here. Wait time was a tad longer than expected, but the service was solid and the person who brought my sandwich out acknowledged the wait time. The store is well kept conditionally, but could use some attention from a cleanliness perspective. There was debris and trash strewn about on the floor, tables were dirty and sticky and the drink station was in a bit of disarray. Nothing alarming, but definitely noticeable. I visit Brentwood, TN for a few days roughly once a month for work. My favorite lunch spot is this Firehouse Subs. Since the one closest to our house in Louisville sucks and we won't go back there, this location more than makes up for those shortcomings. It's about a 3 minute walk from the desk I occupy to this Firehouse Subs. That's pretty ham dandy! I have a favorite menu item and that is the Spicy Cajun Chicken sandwich. I have it at least once while I'm there. The chicken is warm, the bread warm and toasty, and there's some kind of magic going on there in the rest of the ingredients because once I arrive in Brentwood after my drive down I literally can't wait to get lunch. I think, too, that the jalapeños have a lot to say about that great taste. The staff I've encountered here has always been GREAT. Everyone is hustling to take orders, preparing food, and make sure the dining room is kept clean. This place can be crazy busy for lunch, but it's never felt rushed. Every person working is focused on keeping things moving and keeping things in order. Since Firehouse Subs was created by firemen, the décor lends itself well to that, with few pieces of fire fighting equipment decorating the walls, red fireman helmets, and a red-and-while motif. Walked into this location at 8:39- pm on 11/20they close at 9. Technically , they are still open at 8:39 and should take your order . We walked in and the manager who says his name is Angel states he will not be cutting any more meat and we could choose to have ham and salami - take it or leave it . I tried to plead the case that they were still open for business and that corporate would likely not approve - he said : call corporate if you want . I will not be coming back to this Firehouse Subs location after my experience tonight. I arrived a little after 8 PM to pick up my order, which I had already placed online. My food was already sitting on the counter ready to go -- I could clearly see it -- yet not a single employee acknowledged me for over 10 minutes. No greeting, no "we'll be right with you," nothing. They carried on with their side work as if I wasn't even there. For a place that usually prides itself on friendly service, this was incredibly disappointing. If you can't provide basic courtesy and acknowledgment to customers who come in after 8 PM, you shouldn't still be open. Absolutely unacceptable. read more

I had barely stepped through the door and was glancing at the menu when the cashier, completely monotone, hits me with a "What do you want?" Uh - probably a sandwich, but maybe give me 10 seconds to actually glance at the menu? First off, who doesn't love a good sub?! While yea this is. Chain restaurant, not all chains are created equal. The location of this particular firehouse is a bit tricky for parking, unless you want to just park in the garage. There are some parking in front, but they tend to be taken most of the time. As for the food itself, in my opinion, it's hard to mess up a sub. At this particular time, I tried the Italian, which I hadn't had before. Let me tell you that I was wanting another one as soon as I finished it! It was perfectly heated and all the extra veggies I asked for made their way in it (which doesn't always happen). My wife and I shared the Club, cold, because I don't care for toasted subs. It was supposed to have bacon, but when we were just about done eating, we noticed that there hadn't been any. Maybe because bacon can only be added if it's hot? I will say that the sandwich was good and I was very surprised at how much meat they put on the large. Probably more meat than just about any major sub chain that I have visited. Were the employees over- portioning or is that the usual amount? If the latter, then this is the place to go if you really like your lunch meats thick. They asked me if I wanted to round up for firefighters and I said yes. Then I noticed the sign on the wall showing a check with how much they had given to the firefighters last year. Very impressive. The thing that puzzled me was at the bottom right corner of the check it had their name on it when it should've said "the customers of firehouse subs." Ordered sandwiches for family in town, had to place two separate orders but then came into the store to pick them up, and walked in and realized my order time wasn't until 10 minutes so stepped out to make a call came back in 5 mins later and was scolded by a worker for "her yelling my name for 15 minutes and all the customers having to listen to her call my name" ... and asked if next time i feel like placing such a large order and split it into two orders if i could do them a curtesy and call them... mind you i ordered 8 sandwiches and a couple kids meals not really the most massive order. I have stopped and ate at this Firehouse Subs location on several occasions over the past 18 months and and have not ever experienced poor service, order issues or long waits as I have read in other reviews. On my last visit last week the store was busy but the line moved as quickly or faster than most other places during the lunch crowd. The longest wait I had was waiting for other customers to get their drinks at the drink station and my food was being brought out as I searched for a table. As I sat and ate I observed many customers names being called as food was being brought out while they were still getting their drink. On all of my visits the store was clean, well stocked and staffed and the food has been very good for a sandwich shop. For a quick lunch stop this is a good place to give a try. You really have to make sure to try the different hot sauces that they offer. The best for the Italian sub is the Melinda's Garlic hot sauce (they run out of this quite frequently). read more

I got the hungries for a beef brisket sandwich, so my wife and I went to the nearby Firehouse subs and their beef brisket sub. When we first read the news that Firehouse intended to locate here we were thrilled , because that meant good sandwiches. This store did not disappoint. I ordered their Smokehouse Beef & Cheese Brisket sub. It looked as good as the one pictured on their website!! It would have been nice had the cheddar cheese been allowed to melt to embrace the meat, but it didn't. I would have liked to have had a lot more brisket, but this is not a deli. All in all, it was a tasty, filling sandwich. My wife picked my old fav, their Pastrami sub. She seemed to enjoy it down to the last bite. I was really impressed with the level of service today. That, and the food, are the reasons that we are long time customers. My sandwich, their Smokehouse Beef & Cheese Brisket sub, was a good deli-style sandwich, but a deli sandwich it isn't. I ordered a medium Engineer on wheat, and added banana peppers. Guy told me right off they were out of tomatoes, so there wouldn't be any of those. OK, I can live with that - but unfortunate for a sub restaurant to run out of one of the most popular toppings ever. They only serve salads and subs, very limited menu, and can't keep tomatoes? Tons of grocery stores around, they should have picked some up. Come on, guys! Got it to go - waited at a nearby table that had sticky pink soda or some kind of drink on it - yuck. Took a little less than 10 minutes for them to call my name, so I grabbed my sub and headed back to work in Maryland Farms. Sat to eat when I got back to work - and there were zero mushrooms on my sub. Not a single one. Though after reading another reviewer mention the mushrooms they use are canned and not fresh, well, heck, not as disappointing as I may have initially thought. Supposed to also be served with a pickle - didn't get one of those, either. So, no tomato, no pickle, no mushrooms. I paid more for an Engineer sub, when I could have just paid for a turkey sub, cause that's all I got. Also, feel it's worth mentioning that it was served in a little closeable carboard box. IMO, just a waste of resources. What's wrong with wrapping the sub in paper? Cardboard sub box, then in a paper bag as well. Not very eco-friendly. Well, since this was my first ever visit to Firehouse Subs, and they basically cannot even do their job, this was also my last visit to Firehouse Subs. Food is always delicious here. Never not enjoyed what I had, but the employees at this location are a joke. My wife and I dined here today at 6:15pm and got two sandwiches. We and one other person were the only ones in the restaurant. Took 15 minutes to get our two subs. Not only did it take a long time but they got the orders wrong, and we got the wrong sandwiches all together. The young lady at the register was short and rude and the other young lady working didn't move at all when the sandwiches were ordered. She was on​ her phone hiding behind the hot sauce tray. In the time we have been here (25 minutes) two other customers have come in and they have yet to get their food. A group of young kids came in halfway through our meal and the two ladies are hanging out with these boys instead of actually making food. It's unbelievable. I feel awful for the customers still waiting, and I'm terribly upset with my experience. As paying customers, we expected much more. We don't just pay for good food, we pay for good service... I KNOW THAT YOU CAN DO BETTER! I am not a fan of purchased sandwiches simply because they just don't live up to my standards and that is not arrogance it just reflects my specific preference. My husband decided that he wanted a sandwich and I specifically told him that I did not. He bought me one anyway. It was a turkey sandwich with canned mushrooms, scant lettuce, scant tomatoes mayo and turkey. Boring!! I like my sandwiches hot and fully dressed. This means that the bread needs to be toasted, the meat needs to be grilled, there should be a double serving of fresh vegetables added to include leafy greens such as spinach, or green lettuce, a sharp cheddar and a shot of balsamic vinegar. I also will occasionally add mixed peppers, cucumbers or guacamole. I would never have canned mushrooms added to my sandwich as they are frankly disgusting. Of course my husband is aware of my mushroom rule but simply forgot to ask if the mushrooms are fresh. Also, as far as I know, he has only eaten two Firehouse subs over the past 20 years and is not really familiar with their practices. Unfortunately, I am away from home and cannot access my own kitchen to make my own sandwich so I appreciated my husband's thoughtfulness. I removed the mushrooms from the sandwich and tried it. I found it lacking in flavor and in need of additional vegetables and seasoning. Firehouse needs to step it way up and commit to a better quality product. Choose carefully! read more

I'm writing this review assuming you've been to a firehouse subs and like the sandwiches. I like to eat at firehouse back in Colorado and was in Nashville driving by the restaurant. I decided to try out a Nashville firehouse. Upon entering I was welcomed with a friendly greeting. The cashier took my order quickly and was very polite. The sandwich came out fast and the team member addressed me by name and asked if I needed anything. The sandwich was well prepared with plenty of meats. I stopped it off with a couple hot sauces each with a little variation on heat. Overall this is one of the best firehouse experiences I've had!! read more

This Firehouse Subs location has gone downhill. I have visited here frequently in the past and it is not the same. Last visit there was no diet soda in the Coca Cola Freestyle machine. In addition, they are down from 2 Freestyles to one. This visit, we had to wait for the cashier to stop texting to acknowledge us. They were out of banana peppers which was disappointing but I guess it happens. It doesn't seem like this location is being managed as well as in the past. This place is hilarious. This has got to be one of the saddest experience of customer service I've ever experienced. First, there was another person inside already eating and then there was me. Walked in, and for the first 5 minutes no one even acknowledged my existence. Then I ordered and it took 20 minutes..... I mean I'd understand if they were busy, but there was like no one inside. So I get my order and I asked for Wheat Bread and they put white. lol. Slow and messing up the order is just bad. My husband and I LOVE firehouse - but this location is beyond terrible. Sandwich orders are ALWAYS wrong, the staff moves slower than molasses, over 30 minute wait for a sandwich?!?! Are the ingredients grown in that time as well? It's just so bad. Never experienced a firehouse this slow and the customer service is just awful. Where are they getting these employees?
