This is my second time coming in here, first visit was ok, salon is so close to my house, and the two ladies that did my pedi/mani were courteous and did a good job with my cuticle, which is often mistaken for an ingrown nail. Today, however I am welcomed, barely, by a young looking girl who is wearing a mouth mask, the girl does not even talk, she hand gestures almost every thing she wants you to do. When I asked her kindly if she could remove some of that hard cuticule on my big toes she refused and said ..no I can't... this will bleed if I touch.. no can't do... ‍for the rest of time she kept on throwing my foot into the water soak pull the other one out and no in a gentle way. I had high hopes for this place, the reason why I came back, and I had plans to get their lemon pedi one, which costs $55 and the pedicure lasts 40min, the girl never even asked me what I wanted, just because I said no nail polish just buffer, she assumed I'm coming in for an 8minute pedi, splashing lotion and over my legs for less than a minute.. the girl clearly hates her job and can't stand being there. She was rude to a point she was fighting in the salon and asserting that service was done fine. Very bad service. She made me pay more money than what it says on their website. My daughters had their nails painted with different colors and without telling be beforehand, she charged me more money for each one. It was also very rude that while she was painting my nails, she came with her phone so I could pay her by Venmo. I didn't want to tip her because she charged me with more money than what she should've and she demanded the tip and even told me what to tip her. My pedicure was rushed while no one was waiting. Totally insincere work. Few things done on right foot were not done on left and vise versa. When people who work there speak in their own language it feels like they are (alienating )commenting on my feet or tip amount or some sort of bad words which I don't understand. I am an Asian( who don't speak their language) and I was not asked about water. On the other side I saw white woman coming in was offered water bottle.My pedicure professional was engaging " other "customer in conversations.( Even though I was sitting right in front of her.) I have been going to Impress for two years. Since it is within a block from my home it is very easy to get to. Today I took my daughter for the first time (she had a pedicure and a gel manicure). I got the usual powder dip manicure. The salon is great, nice and clean, maintains masking requirement, the nail techs are very friendly and skilled, and it is usually quiet with only a couple of clients at a time. Today we had it all to ourselves! My daughter was just as pleased as I was. Have always had great service there, even before COVID when they were busy. Of the salons in Needham, this was my favorite until my experience today. The manager, I don't know her name but she's always there. She scolded me for not giving her a big enough tip. I seriously can't believe she asked me to increase my tip, after spending $90 on a mani and pedi. Their prices have also jumped way up, since the last time I visited about a month ago, or she overcharged me. Either way, you just lost a customer by demanding a higher tip. That is by far the rudest thing I can think of in terms of customer service. I don't carry a lot of cash and you don't accept tips on credit card, so what do you expect?! Accept tips on credit card - yes, then you'll need to claim them on your taxes, but then you might get the tip you think you deserve. read more

I was recommended to try this salon by a coworker as it is very conveniently located near our office. It's a beautiful little salon behind a major road--something I'd call a "hidden gem". As other have mentioned, the salon is brightly lit by huge windows lining the walls. The atmosphere is really relaxing--I believe they played a mix of Louie Armstrong and soft jazz over the speakers--and the two ladies working were super nice. Immediately upon entering, Juliet offered me a refreshment and led me to their huge selection of polish. I was really pleased with the variety of colors and brands they offer--it seemed like they had the whole Essie line, which happens to be my favorite! In no time I was seated and treated to the best manicure I've ever had. For just $15 you get the usual trim & paint, as well as a paraffin wax dip, moisturizing, and a brief back and hand massage. Juliet took real care to make sure my nails were well done, going back with the cuticle cutters a few times if she noticed that she missed a spot. My nails were trimmed, filed, cuticles cut, painted twice, and topped with a clear coating to prevent chipping. A quick sit under the dryers and my nails look fantastic! I was also very pleased with the cleanliness and professionalism of the salon. All of the bottles were sealed using a cleaning solution and the work stations were well kept and neat. For extra value, they have a loyalty card (every $20 spent goes towards a discounted visit), and $5 off of a pedicure for first time customers. Definitely worth another visit! read more

Disappointed after reading such great reviews. I came with a friend. Her pedicure seemed rushed and her nail tech wasn't friendly. I started my pedi first and my friend was done 5 minutes before me. Mimi who did my pedicure did a nice job and was friendly and smiled. I like the water very very warm during a pedicure and they just didn't get it warm enough -- after asking at least three times. They did give a one minute backrub as your toes dried. The woman in charge seemed great but she was with another client. Less than 30 minutes for a "spa" pedicure for $35. Not impressed. read more

I just found this place through Yelp, really close to my work. The woman was extremely nice and helpful, even gave a little shoulder massage at the end! The other woman were sweet as well. The place was super clean and very nice, easy to find and park. This review would have been 4 stars easily if not for the situation that just unfolded. I checked in with Yelp to get $10 off, It popped up when I looked for a place so why not?! I mentioned this coupon before the service and after. The woman asked me to a write a review and I said sure, but then proceeded to say, "yes thank you while your nails dry". Then stood there awkwardly for what felt like an eternity!! She finally left after I started to type the review. She came back with my receipt that said $35, she didn't take off the $10! She asked if I wanted a gift card, I said no I want the $10 off. In the end they voided my sale and re did it. They were very nice the whole time, but my regular place is better and is only $25, so I probably won't be back. I was so excited when I first arrived at this nail salon because the layout was inviting, the massage chair was so comfortable and I haven't been at a nail salon in more than a year. I wish I would have read reviews before coming but since it was so close to my house and I wanted to get pampered I gave into my excitement. I was COMPLETELY shocked and disappointed by my Gel manicure that peeled off two days later on three nails and by the end of the week my nails looked a HOT MESS. The point of getting Gel is because it supposed to stay on your nails for three weeks straight. I had to take time out of my schedule to return and have the Gel done properly. Julia didn't ask me to wash my hands first nor did she wear gloves during the service. Julia, the manager, is unbelievably rude and for me doesn't know the meaning of true customer service. I've been going to Impress for almost 2 years now and had an amazing experience until a few months back. They hired a couple new people and one of them does my nails every single time I go there, very sloppy job, but I gave her a chance 3 times thinking she might get better each time but I was wrong. I went to get my gel mani and pedi on Friday after making an appointment. The same lady took almost 2 hours to do my nails and again a very sloppy job. I told the owner, Julie, and she apologized and told me to come and that she would fix it for me with no charge as I had spent a lot of time for a bad job and paid the full amount for it plus a tip! Julie also gave me a $25 off coupon and told me I could use it anytime next time I come for a mani-pedi. Today, a day later, my gel nail is peeling off and I have a wedding to attend so I call Julie and make an appointment to get my nails done again. She greeted me and told me she was sorry and painted my nails again and fixed it. I was expecting to leave with a tip for Julie since she spent time re-doing my nails but then she asked me for the $25 off coupon that she had given me to use for another time! I was totally startled and didn't want to argue with her and just left after giving the coupon. Got my eyelashes done and they look EXTREMELY natural! The owner did it for me (Sarah/Kyung-Ah) and she's so gentle with putting on each eyelash that I caught myself falling asleep a couple times. It's embarrassing, but that's actually a REALLY GOOD sign that you're comfortable with someone working around the eyes! It took a little more than an hour to finish (which is typical) and it's inevitable that your muscles around the eyes feel strained. But she gives you a nice head and face massage at the end. And when it comes to eyelash extensions, they will fall out and you'll probably need refills. But as long as you're careful with putting on/taking off makeup and washing your face, they'll last! It's been a week for me and only a few have fallen out. Honestly, I don't wear makeup as much when I have the extensions because they make a huge difference. I love them! read more

Worst customer service. Extremely rude. Went in for a manicure. Half way through my manicure a woman with 3 children arrived asking for 4 mani pedis. Instead of making them wait all of 5 minutes while she properly completed my manicure she globbed polish onto my nails leaving polish all over the sides of my fingers. When I asked her to clean them up she reluctantly dabbed my pinky and sent me to the drying rack. I tried to get over it and sat there drying for close to 12 minutes. When I stood up to leave the polish on my ring finger dripped because she put it on WAY to thick. I asked for my money back and a cotton ball to remove the polish and she refused to give me a full refund. Now my hands are literally stained red and I look like a fucking murderer. read more

Stay away! I went in a couple of days ago to have the dip powder nail treatment done. The woman who did my nails hacked two of my cuticles so they were bleeding and also filed my nails so they are shorter in the middle and longer on the sides. The amount was $45.00. I gave a 15% tip because of how the woman did my nails and when i was checking out the owner said you can just give me the cash and i will give it to the nail tech. I gave her the cash and as i was walking out of the salon the owner yells out (insert nail tech name here) She gave you $6 so i am going to give you $9. In front of all of the other patrons in the salon. I just couldn't believe she did that. I'm sorry that you felt 15% was not enough for your employee and felt the need to shout it out in front of all of the others in the salon. I have come here many times and have really enjoyed it but my last visit was uncomfortable. I had someone I never had before and she was actually rude. I don't think she was new. She had an air of cockiness. It was rushed and then she left me to find a dryer on my own and set it up myself. But as soon as I sat down, she came over to have me pay up then stood there waiting for a tip. I usually tip when it's all done on my way out but I didn't have that choice without giving rise to an uncomfortable moment. After I paid and tipped, she took my water away and left the shop leaving me to finish. Usually they help you figure out when you're dry enough. It's too bad this one person ruined the whole experience with Impress because the rest of the staff seems super sweet. I went for a gel mani and pedi. The young lady that did my pedi was great but the guy who did my dip gel mani was horrible. He removed my old polish using A nail file and filed the thickness down to the point that my fingernails would bend without polish. I am used to having the polish removed with a nail drill. Also he refused to put a third coat of dip despite the color being uneven and him not covering the sides of the nails with polish so bare Nail was exposed. i asked him to correct it and he put a single line of polish on the edge so that there was a clear step down on the finished nail. read more
