This salon has been absolutely incredible for pedicures. The salon itself is pretty and clean - and I love the person who has been doing my pedicures the last couple of months. Today, I decided to try them for a powder dip manicure and I was HORRIFIED at how they violate standard hygiene practices and guidelines. To be specific, they just dip your fingers straight into the dip jar instead of setting aside a small amount for your particular manicure. This is known to cause infections and actually means that each dip jar on display and in use is harboring bacteria. I wanted to bring this up to my nail tech but when she dismissed my concerns and questions about another issue related to the manicure, it became clear that I wasn't going to get anywhere with this. The manicure itself looks good but now I'm paranoid that I'll get an infection. So, safe to say I won't be returning for powder dip manicures. 5 stars for pedicures 2 stars for manicures read more

I love to vibe and decor of this salon, but I went there a couple months ago for a pedicure and got a horrible cut on my toe that wouldn't stop bleeding and took a while to heal. I decided to try another salon for a while but returned to try and give Beauti Nail Bar another try. This time I got cut 3 times! I don't think it's related to the skills of the technicians, but more likely that they rush through the service. My $50 pedicure took 20 minutes total... a normal pedicure should be closer to 40-45. Unfortunately I don't think I can go back even though I want to love it here - I just don't think it's worth the risk of infection read more

Single handily the worst nail salon in Wellesley. I went for an appointment at 3:30 I was started at 4 and was rushed out of there. She did ZERO nail prep on my nails and the polish application was awful. She left polish on my skin and only fixed it when I asked. Definitely won't go ever again. Best French manicure I've ever gotten! Totally perfect :) My two girls also had intricate detailed nail art done - one was an original design very creative and other was copying a Pinterest design. Spot on. All three of us were pampered, not rushed and had an excellent experience and conversations with Me, Laura and Tina. Even despite a steady flow of customers they spent just the right amount of time on our mani pedis. What a great location! Friendly staffers! And a terrific talented nail technician in Anna! 5 Stars! We did the new technique of NUGENESIS and not only was the process super easy, but i feel my nails getting STRONGER SND STRONGER by the minute! I'm excited for her to order more colors but for this we used PINK II & Peek A Boo! Also this manicure was only $35!!!! What a steal. It apparently lasts 3 weeks - i will keep you informed. I would recommend to the company that the receptionist put in his headphones on while watching shows if possible. It's just a little distracting! But the other staff were soooo friendly too, but Anna is such a sweetheart!!!! Also I was able to call and get an appointment within the hour, and Wellesley has freee parking! I've had great experiences when I first discovered this salon. But lately my manicures are not as good as my beginning visits. The two times I got the male technician that did my manicure have been super disappointing from the start to finish. It's mediocre for the price when I can get way better service for less than $30. My cuticles are uneven and he had supposedly pushed them back. My nails are short when I came in and the attempt to file or at least smoothing them out was a joke. The gel application was very bad too, bumpy and not smooth. I still have hang nails. Overall, I came in to get my nails cleaned up and it didn't happen. Unless I'm in a dire need for a manicure, I'll just wait to go back to my usual salon. read more

I am really disappointed with this salon. My first visit was a few weeks after they opened, and horrible, so I waited a few months and gave it another shot. My first visit my acrylic fill was too thick, it looked obnoxious, but the fill lasted- my pedicure was the second worst I've ever had in my life, I swear the woman was going to fall asleep, but the worst part was the eyebrow wax, I'm still missing a huge portion of my eyebrow. The second time I went my experience was much better, my nails look great but my acrylic fill is separating from my natural nails: this happens after months of having acrylics on, however I asked my nail technician if she needed to do a full set (I was happy to pay and spend the time for this to be done)- she said no, a fill would be fine- now a week later I have to go have a full set done. *update. Pricing is dependent on the managers mood and they do not do what is best for the customer and the care of their nails- they go for the money. Not sure why 2 weeks ago my service was $12 and today was $19... seems like a hefty price increase to occurs over a 2 week time frame. read more

I got dip nails by Trisha today & they were phenomenal. She was so polite and did my nails the way I wanted them. I was a first time client & I'll definitely be returning. They even had an issue with their credit card machine, and I didn't have enough cash on me, and she said it was no problem I could pay her next time, which I thought was really sweet. Let me just say I don't write reviews often, however after leaving this salon Mindy and Train left me no choice!! Not only am I obsessed with my nails, but the staff is friendly and attentive. I rarely post, but I had a terrible experience here. I got a regular manicure and pedicure. My technician literally spoke no English, so was unable to understand my requests. During my pedicure she used hot towels that were scalding and burned, as were the hot stones. The manicure took forever, partly because the tech was extremely slow, and partly because she messed up the same nail twice (while she moved to another nail, she bumped the middle finger). Another woman who came in after me, got a pedicure and gel manicure, finished way before me. A day later, the polish on my nails has not properly set and remains tacky, which means any time my nails touch something they get marks or dents. You couldn't pay me to come back. read more

I was really excited to go to this nail salon. I figured, being in Wellesley it would be nice and had great expectations based on all of these 5 star reviews. I'm new to the area and looking for a reasonably priced mani/pedi that I can have done on a fairly regular basis. These yelp reviews and the somewhat vague company website got me in the door, but... I couldn't have been more disappointed in my experience at this "spa". First of all, I don't consider myself hard to please but when I'm going for a mani/pedi, I look forward to feeling at least a little pampered. I like to enjoy my time in the massage chair but also feel good when the purveyors of the business seem at least a little interested in providing friendly customer service. Let's just say my overall experience was so less than feeling pampered and just downright underwhelming. From the time I walked in the door, I was pointed to which spa chair to sit in, the young man who facilitated my pedicure and then manicure did not make eye contact with me, tapped my feet lightly to direct me when to take each foot in and out of the spa, paid very little to NO attention to detail and seemed actually pretty miserable to be attending to me at all. There was no "massage" when it came to hands or feet for either manicure or pedicure and the trimming of my nails and cuticles were just sloppy. In fact, the workmanship was so shoddy it hasn't been a week and my manicure is looking pretty sad already. I've had many a great manicure/pedicure over the years and this place scores the lowest in my book! I guess it was wrong of me to assume that because this business was in the nice town of Wellesley that this "spa" would be nice as well. Man I really wanted to like this place, I did. The first and second time were great-service was great, polished lasted. That's when it all went downhill. The girl who did my nails was nowhere to be found, so another tech did them(not sure her name, but she has all black rectangle glasses). Her pedicure was sloppy and rough, ended up smearing, and gel manicure she painted on my cuticles so that lasted a whole 4 hours. I came back the next day and they were happy to fix everything. I wasn't thrilled at that point, but came back this past Monday for even more hell. I specifically asked another woman to do my nails, which for lack of English failed, even though I spoke with the manager and he clearly understood and agreed to another tech. So I ended up with another sloppy, rough pedicure. When it got to the manicure, I DID get another tech (with black and white rectangle glasses) , but that made it even worse. I asked her to keep my nails long (she filed them down so low I barely have a nail left) , AND ripped my cuticle so hard it bled, she put disinfectant on it, my fucking nail turned BROWN and they just looked at each other and kept going, and she kept making mistakes, she just painted over them instead of cleaning the nail and starting over. Of course the manager wasn't there for me to say anything, and she has zero English, so the original nail tech (who I didn't want to begin with) took over to continue to butcher my nails. I called back later to explain my issues to the manager, and asked for a refund. He said he would refund me, and that he needs to see my nail. So I went in, and suddenly he decided to turn it around on me and say 'oh you want us to do over we will? ' I said no I'm done with horrible service and now my finger is infected. He took me to the side to avoid the other customers hearing me, but I said no I want a full refund this is absurd. So he got mad and said oh , so you want us to work for free? So after I raised my voice and explained to him that I can contact the board of health I will be happy to, he gave me money back. As I left I saw him talking shit to the customer in earshot, so I just simply turned to her and said be careful they don't mess your finger up. The place is clean and most of the time when not busy every service comes with a complimentary back and shoulder massage! As for the reviews questioning if their staff is licensed - if they know anything about owning a business. All businesses randomly get check by uncover state agents to ensure all technicians/staff are licensed and the salon/business is up to legal standards. I have gone here 3x so far and have decided to make it my go-to nail salon. I have been living in the area for around 5 years now but never found a place I liked enough to make it routine. The salon is very clean, and Mi (pronounced My) is the lady who usually does my nails. I typically get a regular pedicure and a gel manicure, and I feel like she takes the perfect amount of time doing both. You aren't waiting too long for your nails to get done but you also aren't rushed like if you go to other smaller and crowded nail salons. My toes generally last a month which is normal, and my fingers (with gel) will last about 2 weeks, with maybe 1 or 2 nails slightly chipping (because I'm very active). The salon isn't ever crowded and this adds to the atmosphere of calm. I would definitely schedule an appointment in advance. read more

I have had many pedicures over the course of many years because I am work in a professional environment. I have never walked out of a salon bleeding and to make things worse, the staff tried to minimize the situation. The first time I went there, they included gel removal in the price. The second time I went there, I had clear liquid gel to be removed, which was basically the same process of buffing down and soaking but, they charged me an extra $8. I had even removed the color before coming in to make the process quicker. I was disappointed they charged extra and so I reached out to the manager to clarify over email. She said she didn't know why I was charged extra an that she would reach out to the techs on pricing and get back to me. She never messaged after that. read more

Had a gel mani and pedi- they were speedy and one of the only places that still gives a massage while your nails dry. I just found Beauti Lux and I will be going back again. I had Lili and she did an excellent job on my gel manicure. She took the time to file only, instead of cutting my nails, which always makes then rough at the edges. Perfectly shaped, they have Essie gel and OPI, million colors. They use LED lights instead of UV and the cost is very reasonable. The place is clean and I did not have any concerns. I will be a new regular. read more

I needed to find a new nail salon after my favorite of 15 years was sold, and then was never the same. I had manicures at a couple of places with poor results: who charges $24 for a manicure in which the cuticles get pushed back and the nail dryer is put in your lap? I walked in to Beauty Lux Spa on a whim, and was immediately delighted by the welcoming staff and sparkling decor. I had the pleasure of having "Trish" do my pedicure, and she was amazing. Clean and hygienic? Oh yes. A liner was put in the foot tub, and the autoclave for instruments was visible in the salon space. The chair gave me an amazing back massage while Trish did her work. She was meticulous with the pedicure, and the leg and foot massage she gave me with hot stones was amazing. My pedicure looked great, and as my nails dried under the dryer, Trish gave me an added bonus -- a really relaxing neck and shoulder massage. I have been back to Beauty Lux twice more, and am thankful I have found my new nail salon, which, as it turns out, is even better than my old favorite! read more
