I went here for the first time the other day because my usual place was closed. I've never had a more rushed manicure in my entire life. The "hand massage" at the end was approximately 10 seconds total. Spending over $50 on a manicure I would expect a little more care into their service. I was also shocked to know that there's an unwritten rule of charging an extra $5 if you have "naturally long" nails. I've never come across this in my life. I have tried so many nail salons over the years in the greater Natick area. Mass Nails in Wellesley is by far the best I have ever gone to. Not because they are the most upscale or trendiest, but because they truly value their clients. They do a great job, are flexible and accommodating. My stylist, Jenny, is fabulous. The owner, Marisa, is warm and welcoming. There is not much to differentiate one salon from another. But the one attribute I find most lacking is how much value is put on your business. Everytime I go to Mass Nails they have the sweetest staff members who provided amazing conversation. They consistently do an amazing job on my acrylic nails and gel manicures as well as pedicures. That said, the salon is cluttered and my feet were sticking to a substance that had clearly been an uncleaned spill. They kept the temp to 67 degrees on a late December day so we all kept our winter coats on. The aesthetics are low and I question the hygiene practices. Not a great experience, to say the least. I asked to remove liquid gel but they didn't know what they were working with. They soaked my nails in acetone for 40+ minutes completely damaging my skin. I told them that I never use acetone in other salons and that it's a machine-only gel but they insisted on using it saying "if you come back and use our gel then we take off fast". Mass Nails never disappoints. The techs are very efficient and professional, and considering that it's not even one of the most expensive nail salons in Wellesley, after having tried just about every single other nail salon in Wellesley, Mass Nails still prevails as the best! Although they say their gel manicures last up to 2 weeks (I'm guessing for liability reasons) my gel manicures regularly last 3 weeks to a month without even chipping. I usually get a gel manicure and regular pedicure, and although their spa pedicure is nice, I find the regular pedicure is still a great value. read more

this is without a doubt the worst, most unethical nail salon. we paid for nail tips and dip--the nails were uneven and poorly done. When we called the manager to ask for them to be redone, they scheduled an appointment, then charged us again (twice in two days) to have them redone. Then the blamed us for things being wrong. I went there regularly for some time. They are good at taking walk-ins but for reasons I don't understand have no respect for regular clients or those with appointments. On the last occasion I went there I had an appointment, arrived 15 minutes early, and happily sat down to wait. Five minutes after my appointment was due to begin I was shown to a pedi station by Marisa, the owner and was told I was 10 minutes late. I pointed out that actually I was 15 minutes early, and it was now 20 minutes since I arrived. She then went off to see to two walk-ins, friends, who had arrived after me. She started work on them, and I imagine, thought that because I was a regular client I would wait. 30 minutes after I arrived I took my feet out of the water, picked up my purse and left. I won't return. Marisa has nice staff (their manicures and pedicures aren't always the best but I liked the staff) - but Marisa is disorganized, she needs to learn to prioritize better. they did not disinfect any instruments or the tub before my pedicure. There was a customer seated next to me who just finished her pedi and the technician scooped up all of the used and dirty pedi tools and put them on my tray.No cleaning, no disinfecting! she didn't even seem to be aware that they needed to be disinfected!! I attempted to tell her but it was difficult with the language barrier. The large callous file contained dead skin from the customer she had just finished with!! naturally, I didn't let her use it on me! the pedi was terrible and she didn't clean my nails or even apply lotion! She then proceeded to charge me extra at the end for the color I chose (when beforehand I made it clear that I wanted the regular included priced color and not the more expensive performance polish)! never again! disgusting and the worst experience I've ever had with a pedicure! The employees charged $70 for a 2 hour appointment. Although the nails took 2 hours to complete, they looked shaky and unprofessional. I did go back to ask for some money back because the window outside said $40 for dip and tip. The employees said no and explained the reason of the cost which overall made no sense. I would not recommend getting your nails done at Mass Nails and I had a horrible experience. The vibe was not what I expected and not what I was hoping for. I would like to say I typically don't write reviews but this was the most terrible experience I've had getting my nails done. The typical length of time for tips and dip is 30 minutes, nothing near the 2 hours of my time wasted. These nails weren't worth $70 and I wish I could get some money back especially since I was told a completely different price when I first sat down. Do not get your nails done here. This place is cheap, but it comes at the cost of any sort of human decency. I came here on a Sunday an hour before closing to get a gel manicure. When I got there, the manager (Marissa) was angry at me for not "telling her I wanted a manicure". She said that they close at 5 (even though it says 5:30 online), and got mad at me and my boyfriend even though we told her on the phone that we were coming in for a manicure. She ended up just removing my previous gel and told me to come back some other day of the week to get the manicure. During the removal, she was rushing and was very rough with my nails, I even told her that she was hurting me and she didn't say anything and continued. Immediately after, all my nails were hurting and my nail beds were tender and RED. I immediately called the morning after and asked what to do, and she told me to just take a break from getting a manicure. Every time I called her, she would just yell at me ("Do you want a manicure or not?") and then hang up. Not once did she say sorry -- just kept telling me it was just my nails, and that she didn't do anything wrong.Today, I called again because 7 out of my 10 nails have all broken PAST MY NAIL BED, and they are all very painful. She yelled at me for calling ("What do you want? You just want a free gel manicure?") I told her no, and at this point she was screaming goodbye over and over and just hung up on me mid sentence. She has great staff, I've been here before and they're kind -- but I cannot say the same for Marissa, the manager. read more

I want to give a 5 star rating but will deduct 1 star for the pedicurist leaving me mid way. I called up for a pedicure and was told that they can attend to me after 15 minutes. The service was warm and I my pedicure started on time. The procedure was pretty nice and clean. The BCL spa products they use are pretty nice and the scrub massage was really nice. She then applied a mask followed by paraffin treatment and left for home. I was sitting there waiting for someone to take off my paraffin wax and massage. I know we are suppose to use small businesses and help support them now and I try to do my part. The problem is when the service you receive is poor and the people rude. I made an appointment for mani/pedi. When I showed up there was no social distancing they placed me in a chair next to someone with no barrier. We were the only customers. I asked to be moved and the service went downhill. Rushed me out and my nails are uneven and not even smooth. Now having pain in my toes from the cutting of the nails. Things got worse when I went to pay with gift certificate. They don't honor state laws on this. I used with their required year but had a few dollars left that I planned to put with tip. They refuse to give cash back snd say I lose it all in a year. My discomfort with Yelp established let me get to the point. Mass Nails is fantastic!! It's an oasis of sanity in this television set of a town. I'm graduating tomorrow, and my mother would stab me with verbal daggers if she noticed I had no manicure/pedicure. Resigned to my manicured fate, I walked into MiniLuxe. The blonde receptionist looked at me blankly and dismissed me with a, "we're all booked tonight." OK......well. When I asked if there were other salons, she listed a few places in the area. If at first you don't succeed.... Off I went, into the heat, ready to spend some obscene amount of money at one of Wellesley's questionably luxurious spas - when suddenly out of the corner of my eyes I saw a balloon decorated sign for Mass Nails. I walked in, and was immediately seated. My technician was so kind & friendly, my manicure and pedicure are great -- I think she gave me more time and attention than any other manicurist I've ever encountered. $35 for a gel manicure done in a chair on a wobbly table with no massage that has already started lifting after a week. If that seems like a good deal then definitely come here. There was no music when my friend and I came here for a manicure (me) and pedicure (her) so it was super awkward sitting there in silence with 5 other women getting their services. They have arm chairs lined up side by side with nowhere to put your things so I sat practically on my bag. My nails were done on a frozen tv dinner sized table that shakily swiveled onto my lap. There was only room for 1 hand to be done at a time. Just the least relaxing experience I've ever had. Luckily the tech was obviously rushing through my manicure so I didn't have to sit through it for that long. When she finished there was no massage or anything, just a little lotion. By the time I paid she already had her jacket on so obviously she was ready to leave. The manicure itself is bumpy and uneven. A week to the day and my gel manicure has started to lift. Only stopped by because I work in the area and everywhere else was busy. Wouldn't suggest this place unless, like I said, the first sentence sounds appealing to you.
