They moved him about 160 miles away and they moved all the heavy items couch, desks, kitchen, chairs, etc. they assembled the couch and the kitchen chairs and the desk everyone I've talked to has been so nice, very helpful and willing to share information or helpful tips. Moved this June 2022. While everything appeared fine at first, upon unpacking, things got worse. I regret using their services, and will not consider them in the future. Details below : Successes : - Equipped, they have boxes, cushions, etc on hand for last minute requests - On-time - Got the job done Failures : - Fragile items : boxes that were clearly labeled "Fragile" were delivered upside down and/or with broken items (ex. broken dishes, cups, etc) - TV : My TV was damaged beyond repair during transit. The original packaging was provided, but was ignored out in favor of wrapped up blankets. Upon delivery, while the screen appeared fine, there ended up being 3x small holes that shattered the screen - Messy : Left some packaging material behind my former apartment - Recycle : Items were labeled for curb-side recycle pick-up were clearly labeled, some additional items that appeared similar were added without verification or confirmation from me directly Final verdict : - I will never be using, nor recommend Impel Movers For the amount of $$$ I paid (note : there is a minimum amount of hours for delivery), the quality was not great. A FANTASTIC job done by Max and Ivan! They packed up my small bedroom (disassembled and moved my bed, heavy/wide dresser, desk, and more) and put it all in place in my next spot all in 2 hours!!! Incredible! They were so friendly, respectful, and eager to help. Throughout the process, they asked me before touching/packing up personal items, and remained upbeat even while I made them carry heavy things up and down 2 flights of stairs. They are truly experienced professionals and I could tell just in the way they handled all my belongings. The actual move was fine. I am keeping this at four stars for that alone. The problem occurred several months later when I received an email and text message confirming "my move"...from a completely unknown address. But with my full name, email, and phone number on the quote. When I contacted them, they kept making excuses. All those excuses involved claiming that I had requested this quote and that I happened to share information with the customer who did, so it was just a "simple mixup." I did not request a quote for the addresses mentioned, and none of the details (including dates, size of move, and more) in this second mystery quote in any way matched mine from several months prior. Except for all of my personal information being used as that of the requester, the addresses involved and other details all belonged to someone else. Before this happened, I would've recommended them. Now, definitely not. Now I have serious questions about their security and how my information is being handled in their systems. read more

I started my projects via Yelp and communicated with Mary. She was very responsive and addressed every concern that I had; granted this is my first time using movers, so I have no idea what to expect. Sergei and his crew (3 others) arrived on time. They greeted me and were very professional. Just my luck (more like their luck), this was the hottest weekend since summer started in 2023. I guided them to each room and told them what needs to be moved and what needed to stay. Unsure if I had too much to move, I also prioritized the items that must be moved and Sergei made sure by repeating my requests. These guys work fast and knows what they are doing. You can tell they have worked with each other before and very efficient. I felt bad for sitting and watching but I would honestly slow em down. Working in 106 degree weather, these guys did not slow down with great pace. They were super careful with my new home and took extra precaution. We had a very last-minute move, booking just 4-5 days in advance, moving from a single-level house in Richmond, to a small apartment on the third floor in Redwood City. The only negative thing to mention is that the arrival window was 2-3pm, and they ended up showing up at nearly 5pm. However, they stayed in communication the entire time, apologizing and offering a reschedule the next day. That wasn't an option for us, so they gave us 10% off, which was helpful. 3 movers arrived and were extremely polite, respectful, and very efficient. They packed everything up in about 1.5 hours, carefully wrapping the furniture in both moving blankets and industrial cellophane wrap. The dining room table was a little complicated to disassemble and move (I didn't even realize it needed to be disassembled), but they were very careful and meticulous. Overall, I was very happy with the crew! While being so late was a bit disappointing/annoying, they definitely made up for it! Also, our time window was 2-3pm, which is late for such a significant move, so it's understandable that other customers before us could totally throw off their schedule. Honestly guys, if you are moving, use Impel! These guys were super professional, quite fast, and took care to help me move on a scorching hot day. I was quoted $1200 to move by the first moving company I called despite having mainly only boxes and no large furniture or other items. These guys helped me move my old furniture to the curb for trash pick up and moved all my boxes on a ninety plus degree day in under 3 hours, for a whopping $420. I saved $800 by calling around. When they first showed up I was a little nervous because they were small framed men. But, they were definitely strong! Highly recommend! read more

I had an extremely awful experience with Impel moving today. They are the slowest movers I have ever hired. I have moved 7 times in SF and this is the first time that it took them over 7 hrs to move me, it was unbelievable how slow they were. All these reviews are fake. I also fell for them and they turned out to be pretty bad. My apartment is 500 sqft and I was slammed a bill of over 1000 dollars with extra packing materials I didn't even ask for. Obviously I tipped lesser and the movers freaked out and they didn't see their own fault. Horrible horrible experience and this is after yesterday when they were supposed to show up at 2 and they told me at 3 that they would arrive at 4. Please save yourselves read more

And worked hard the whole time they were moving my stuff and it was a very hot day. They could have been a bit more careful with my stuff, a few things were slightly damaged. Amazing quality service. They are very responsive, transparent with prices upon contacting for a quote (there is a slightly discounted rate for cash!), quick to respond via text as well (I was running against the clock packing up my last boxes in the morning and asked if they could show up near the end of the 30 min time frame they provided for arrival, and Dave was responsive and sent notice to the movers as soon as he could despite the short notice), and they take care of your things. I moved locally, with a bedroom's worth of stuff and some miscellaneous furniture. This included a decently expensive PC. They sent me two movers, both named Max (one of them is Maksim, not sure if the other as well). These guys were friendly and professional, and they were strong and efficient! I had quite a few hefty boxes with heavy books, and they handled several flights of stairs in both apartments beautifully. I know for sure it was exhausting work, and I cannot believe they managed as amazingly as they did. I have unpacked all my boxes and no glass, kitchenware, appliances, or vinyl records are broken at all. My PC boots up and runs! My furniture was wrapped and well cared for. I even had loose pieces of a large loft bed, which I had no idea how to pack or wrap -- many of the pieces are 5-6 ft, and there were many of them. My movers handled them all for me. One thing I must say: When asking for a move, from now on I will always be sure to mention pets present in the household. One of my movers has a cat allergy... and would you believe it, completed the entire move lugging all my heavy boxes with care and with a great attitude. When I have allergies, I cannot breathe... Imagine transporting a couple dozen heavy, heavy boxes up and down 4 ish flights of stairs! He was not only helpful in moving my stuff into my new place, but he would not let me reposition heavy pieces alone, immediately offering help. He knows his stuff, and had plenty of advice on how to carry/transport things, best posture and how to hold certain troublesome furniture, etc... when I mentioned that my loft bed pieces had to go into storage later on, he spoke with the other Max and they proceeded to wrap the rest of the pieces together for my ease of storage. Above and beyond! The other Max was wonderful as well, I just had less chance to speak with him. I could not have the great move that I did without both men of this awesome team. They turned a day of anxiety and dread into a quick and easy morning. I would not believe this is a 2 man team... I've had 3-4 guys complete the same move at the same pace. Impel does have a 3 hr min, and this is absolutely fair because even though I thought I only have a studio's worth of stuff, it is a lot... and Max and Max finished everything barely after that 3 hour mark. I guarantee that they do not waste time. I had the rest of the day to unpack all my things and unwind. I've moved about 4-5 times in the past few years, and had many decent movers who did the job. The two both divided tasks, such as dismantling furniture, and worked together (like seasoned dance partners) on large items. Dennis and his partner made my day of moving run smoothly! Up until the day of the move, I had a lot of questions that I sent over and Dennis always responded back asap. Like other reviewers, he also brought me some boxes. The morning of he ran into some traffic and texted me to give me heads up so there were no surprises about running late. They moved my things quickly and carefully, wrapping and padding all of my big furniture so I didn't worry one bit about anything being scratched up or broken! I mostly packed up my things in boxes beforehand except for some loose kitchen appliances, random things in my closet, and lots of cleaning supplies in the bathroom and under my kitchen sink. For the things I didn't pack, they quickly swept those up in boxes and made sure that once when we were ready to go over the new place, the old place was quite literally emptied out! My one bedroom move took a total of 7 hours, including disassembling and assembling my bed, couch, and dining table. I literally sat there scrolling through my phone on the couch (until it was time for them to load it in the truck!) and then on the floor while they occasionally would come over and ask me where I wanted things. I did also run a couple Target errands since you don't actually need to be there the entire time. I would highly recommend impel moving! My friend and I recently moved out of our fully furnished home with way too much stuff (it's me, I'll admit it) into a 2 bedroom apartment. Dennis and Tim were great on communicating their arrival and worked very meticulously to wrap all of our items or re-wrap what we did to ensure secure transportation and no damage to any of our items. They have a 3 hour minimum and we definitely needed that and more. I've moved a lot and have used cheaper movers or even faster movers but what I appreciated from Dennis and Tim were the level of care.
