    Recently moved and WOW, the team helping us was EXCELLENT! Excellent communication Excellent care Quick and efficient moving. They were so good we even bought them all lunch and tipped. Can't express how much we appreciated them and how easy they made it.

    I requested 3 movers Dau and his crew. You could tell immediately how well they worked together. They treated my belongings with such care and they were fast and efficient. I will definitely hire them in the future if I need things hauled away or for another move. Excellent work!

    They arrived on the previously agreed scheduled time and immediately got to work. All our stuff made it safely to our new house with no damage other than 1 minor issue which they agreed to fully compensate us for on the spot. The team they sent was responsive and efficient. Would recommend to anyone.

    TL;DR: they "lost" 2 of my boxes, ignored me, blamed me, lied about what happened, and tried to offer me a laughable amount of money. _________ I used Dependable Movers back in July 2025 for my move to San Diego. Things went relatively uneventfully, so, naturally, when I learned I'd be moving back to the bay, Dependable Movers was my first choice. Unfortunately, this proved to be a mistake. Among many smaller problems which I thought would be the focus of this review (e.g., they arrived 6 hours after they said they were first supposed to be at my building), the most egregious issue was that they failed to deliver 2 wardrobe boxes. From the beginning, the office as a whole was uncooperative. They were not proactive in communicating with me, often requiring me to follow up on my own. More than once, I was promised that a manager would call me when they ultimately did not. When I finally got ahold of Frank (the dispatch manager), he insisted that the boxes must still be in San Diego, and that the movers never picked them up. At least twice, he told me that the boxes "didn't show up on the inspections" done after pickup and before delivery, confirmed they "weren't on the truck," and they weren't on the warehouse security cameras. He even tried to say it was my fault because the truck was in the warehouse longer than it usually is(??). Frank and John (sales manager) both said multiple times "we don't know how this happened." However, the security footage from my new building shows that the boxes were in the truck. My building said that "The movers pushed the box back into the truck, closed the truck door, and left...it was not unloaded / delivered within the time frame that the movers were in the loading dock." This directly contradicts John's and Frank's claims that the boxes weren't on the truck. It's one thing to mishandle and lose my belongings, but it's another to fabricate a narrative, denying the boxes were ever on the truck. When it came time to request compensation, they initially tried to hand me off to the normal claims process (which would've given me $0.60 for each pound lost). To John's credit, he did call to offer me an insulting $200 to cover the lost items. Independent of the fact that the value of the lost items is well in excess of $200, this joke of an offer says that the time I spent chasing down people who told me they'd call me back is worth nothing; that the emotional distress this has caused me (so bad it even necessitated taking sick time from work) is worth nothing; that not having the proper clothing to give an important presentation at work is worth nothing. But, most shockingly, it says that the company and its employees don't stand by their work and, when faced with the consequences of their negligence, they prefer to throw up their hands and brush the issue under the rug instead of make things right with the customer. The whole time, I got the feeling they weren't really looking for the boxes and hoped I would just go away. I understand honest mistakes, but the abysmal communication from the office and the laughable $200 "go away" offer really makes me think that something sinister is going on here. An honest company would do everything they can to make it right; instead, I was given the runaround. I was lied to, blamed, ignored, and ultimately given a piss-poor offer of compensation. It really makes you wonder if one of these crooks is walking around the office in my finest suit. In the interest of full disclosure, I'm pursuing all options for recovery of my items. I've put them on notice that I will be filing complaints with the CA Attorney General's office and the CA Bureau of Household Goods and Services, a police report, and, if it comes to it, a lawsuit in small claims court. Don't be fooled -- someone from Dependable Movers will respond to this review saying how sorry they are that this was my experience and make excuses or try to blame me. Don't lose sight of the facts: they lost 2 of my boxes (that were in the truck at the destination!), ignored me, lied about what happened, and then tried to get me to go away.

    AFTER...Doesn't look like much, but that's because they did a Tetris-like job of putting everything in there.

I used a cash app. There's no written contract. Moving day: Last month: movers Bao & Deng, don't speak English but seemed to understand us. Owner/supervisor Nancy came to out house to see, a surprise! Their moving truck was clean. Moved items from house and storage facility. They padded and plastic wrapped bigger items like sofa, dresser, desk, etc. They are efficient and know their stuff - what would've taken me and my family 3-4 hours to move they finished in 30 minutes! Nothing broken, nothing damaged. Payment: $200 cash tip each. $2,100 final payment via Cash App. Reliable, efficient movers, would use them again!

This also appears to be illegal in California "Unfair Competition Law (UCL): Charging for a service not rendered (like fuel not used) can be argued as "unfair or deceptive" under California Business and Professions Code § 17200, especially if the surcharge is used as a hidden profit center rather than a cost recovery tool." Below is a reply and here is my response: The information about the fuel fee was presented to be based on a percentage of the total move time. Not your actual cost, which I would have been okay with. I'm not asking for anything to be waived, just transparency. Your remarks about your family are completely out of line. It's clear you want to change the subject from your questionable practice and make this personal. It is not personal. I don't know you other than how you have presented your business here. Very Questionably. I see you removed your statements about your family business. I provided the law that it appears you are not following in a private message. Adam was great explaining all the details during the booking process and what we could expect on our moving days. Fast forward to the day and our moving team showed up on time and ready to go. We booked full packing services and the guys jumped right in and got going on packing everything in a super professional manner. Our belongings were packing with a lot of care into boxes and furniture wrapped super well to prepare for a few months of storage and then a long distance move. The guys really went above and beyond to pack our pods really efficiently and maximized every bit of space. With that said we didn't end up having enough room so we scrambled and Adam made a storage and moving solution work for us for what we had remaining. It was a relief to have a versatile company step up and help with what could have been a huge problem for us. They provided an estimate with an upper maximum limit that we were comfortable with. Arrangements were made via email and over the phone, and the office staff were always courteous and responsive. We needed to get the things moved within a few weeks and they were willing and able to come based on our schedule. The team of four were on time and they were incredibly agile and strong. On moving day we received text updates on their arrival time. The team communicated and worked well with each other. They were fastidious about keeping track of their time, which we appreciated. For example, they stopped for lunch and deducted their time from the total. The movers were extremely careful and I was amazed at how efficient they were. They wrapped and boxed up items carefully so that nothing would be damaged. I was impressed watching them in action. A piano and pool table were included in the move and they had to navigate a few steps for these heavy items. Lots of heavy woodworking equipment was also moved and they placed it in the destination workshop in an organized fashion.
