This was our first time at Impact Kitchen and loved the delicious, nutritious food and how colourful and vibrant the Power Bowls looked! I had to take some time to let my eyes do the eating first! We went because I wanted to eat more rainbow coloured meals that were also healthy and their website had excellent photos. They have several locations in Toronto and we went to the one at 444 Adelaide St. West. The service was excellent, friendly and very helpful with our many first timer questions. We loved the spacious, warm atmosphere and big, bright windows. Would definitely come back and do some work here since many others were doing the same. My pal Derek enjoyed his colourful Poke Bowl, Power Bowl: Marinated tuna, brown rice, edamame, red peppers, cucumbers, carrots, avocado, pickled ginger, green onion, sesame seeds, spicy aioli, poke marinade (tamari, rice vinegar, chili oil, sesame oil, honey) And I enjoyed my Hero Power Bowl very much! I loved the colour and textures of my meal and it looked like two different meals from different angles! Kale, salsa fresca, avocado, roasted broccoli, roasted sweet potatoes, roasted beets, hemp seeds, sliced almonds, sprouts, pesto dressing (parsley, spinach, basil, sea salt, garlic, nutritional yeast, walnuts, water, olive oil) with add on of grass fed steak. I found the prices a little high for the amount of food you get but I'd still come back for the awesome ambiance. Highly recommend this location for excellent, healthy meals and awesome place do do some work.

Latest gimmick from Impact. Coffee Subscription. 1 month $20, 3 months $50.

Impact on Adelaide has been my go-to for a daily coffee routine ever since I signed up for their coffee subscription. It took me about 20 seconds to do the quick math of what I was spending daily, walking a similar distance from home to Jimmy's original location on Portland. That coffee expenditure sure adds up! So for $49.95 I opted for the longer duration giving you unlimited drip coffee, any size, espresso, or Americano, one every 2 hours minimum all day while they are open so wow, what a deal, especially if you like to greet the day with a short walk for coffee, rather than make your own at home in your pjs. There's another option, at least when I signed up, for $19.95 for one month, so save another $10 by going all-in for the 3 months. The coffee is Pilot roasters, so delicious! I've had it as espresso where you can really get a handle on the flavors and it does not disappoint. I don't mind sitting and having my coffee there, just to people watch, to have a break from being at home, getting to know the place, regulars and staff, and also to avoid having to bring a paper cup home to add to my trash. I tried having the drip coffee in a ceramic cup while sitting inside, but found that with the cold ceramic and also the generally cool room temperature, that it wasn't warm enough for me. The paper cup at least keeps it from cooling off as quickly, although I really prefer drinking coffee out of a proper cup, rather than cardboard. There is a small patio just around the corner door which is nice and well-used weather permitting. The big heavy glass doors do not have any barrier to the interior once opened so often there is a cold breeze blowing in when someone opens them on a cool day. You'd think in Canada, a double door would be nice, especially when it's right beside people sitting inside, brrrrrrr. The advantage is the app ordering, like SB where you order on your phone and blow in and out (dogs are welcome!) quickly with the single door. I haven't tried the food at Impact Kitchen, but it looks amazing and plenty of people love having the bowls of the healthful-looking offerings. They have a fantastic business model where they have the good stuff, with different protein options that include meat so basically good for everyone. The originators of Impact are the guys behind Mac Cosmetics, another Toronto success story, so if you want to support local, Impact is another legitimate place to patronize, rather than the usual McDonalds, Tim's or Starb. Recommended!

Zesty Mexican Power Bowl, with added steak - tastes delicious, try it with fish!

Impact Kitchen is a non-guilty pleasure, and a combination of dining experiences. There is something for everyone at Impact. They serve all the fancy coffee drinks of a coffee shop; wine/beer like a casual cocktail bar; protein bars and smoothies for the active guests; and breakfast/lunch/dinner for those looking for a full meal. Most dishes are vegan/vegetarian as a baseline for those with dietary restrictions, but they offer fish/chicken/steak/bacon additions for the meat lovers. Their kitchen is gluten-free and the way they operate their business is sustainable, leaving little "impact" on the environment by hospitality standards. They have bar height tables each equipped with a power outlet for those who need to bring a laptop, but the decor is stylish and modern for those who would like a restaurant-style experience. There is something for everyone at Impact and nobody is left out!

    Hair in bowl

I ordered via Ritual and got the breakfast bowl. It looked nice and I enjoyed it. I would say they need something for the spinach because it was a little boring. I asked for hot sauce and that made everything a lot tastier! The eggs were excellent but the salsa was a little lacking. I was pleased until I found a hair in my bowl. Not the worst thing that can happen, but certainly not the best. Seeing as this was my first time ordering from them, it has definitely left a negative impression.

    Beef & venison stew

Impact kitchen is one of my favourite places to take my laptop to and get some productive work done. Their spaces are clean and well equipped with good wifi connection and many outlets to charge your tech. For this visit I ordered the beef and venison stew ($8.95) which came with a slice of bread, chai tea ($3.25), and an MCT bar ($3.95). Service is always great.

Hero bowl with chicken. I challenge anyone to put this many different vegetables in a bowl and have it taste better.

This is one of my lifesavers in the neighbourhood when I need a balanced meal or need to make up for missing vegetables. It's one of the most affordable full-nutrition places in town and has two dishes in particular that are so comprehensive and delicious that I could probably survive off them alone. The first is the Hero bowl. It has literally every vegetable in one dish with a perfect mix of sweet, salty, spicy and acidic flavours. I always get it with chicken for the protein boost. For $25 I've tried to recreate this at home and it's simply impossible. The other menu item I love is the burger. Paleo bun, real burger, real potato fries, real salad. Once again, perfect complement of flavours and quality. Impossible to buy and make yourself for less. As a burger aficionado, this one gets my vote for the most "home cooking" style. It's the opposite of the majority of Toronto burgers which are smash style with no toppings and tons and tons of fat and salt. When I'm really craving beef and still want to feel healthy I get the Impact burger. In short, Impact is the food you'd cook at home if you could cook and wanted to be healthy but still eat a non-restrictive diet. Others may complain that it's not 100%-vegan, gluten-this or almond-that, but to me the advantage of Impact is specifically that it is not hyper "restrictive". It's great, accessible healthy food.

My friend got one of their banana bread drinks - if you like the taste of hojicha, this was particularly strong which I personally enjoyed! Drinks I tried: Maple Goguma Latte - Slightly nutty, lightly sweet, and super comforting. I added a shot of espresso, which made it perfectly balanced and not too sweet. Dalgona Latte - A really fun drink with great texture. Just make sure to stir it well since the sweetness settles at the bottom. They're known for their creative, seasonal drink menu, and I'm already excited to come back to try what they release next season. Definitely a must-visit if you love cozy cafés, unique drinks, and supporting local artists.
