This is our favorite location to order an Imos deluxe pizza, I really think it's the cut tomatoes at this location that make the difference. This location has been here as long as we've been in Webster, well over 20 years! The inside has tables and TVs playing sports. Like I've said, it's been around for a while and you can definitely tell it on the inside. There is a counter which makes it easy order and pick up. There is limited street parking in front of the store and a small parking lot in back, not huge. Overall, this Imos location is one of the best! I ordered the carryout big box, taste of st louis. The box was smaller than it looks like in the tv ads. Everything was pretty good except for the pizza with not enough sauce on cardboard crust. Not sure what the CinnImo's are doing in a taste of St. Louis, but they were very good- like a rectangle donut with a tasty caramel topping. I would think gooey butter cake is more St. Louis. So, I decided while in town visiting I better stop in to get some made fresh...plus I always loved their house dressing. They weren't too busy on a Saturday night so the wait wasn't long. I've been eating at this IMOs for 20 years! I've had so few problems with this place I can't recall one instance, however they have consistently made some of the best pizza in the St Louis area! They always hire good people and service is always great! Dine in take or delivery is wonderful. We had my Mother in Law's 90th surprise birthday party for lunch last week and it was terrific! They accommodated 17 of us including little kids quickly and easily. The pizzas came out hot and delicious right on time and the staff was friendly. We especially loved the meat lovers pizzas but the all veggie was good too. We all love the IMO's thin crust. It's The Best!! I would like to note that my cantankerous 90 year old mother in law did call in to complain about the crust being "tough", but I would like the manager to note that she refuses to wear dentures and so was eating it with NO TEETH! Imo's Pizza is THE pizza parlor in St. Louis. Don't go here if you're wanting to fill up on dough and sauce. This is thin and crispy pizza cut in unique squares with your choice of toppings. I like the 16" Deluxe with real strips of bacon topped with that one and only St. Louis ingredient- Provel cheese. If you put one of these pizzas in front of me, I always go for the edges- the best! If you order the Great Tastes of St. Louis, you get a nice sampling of your choice of T-Ravs, Provel Cheese balls, and Cinnimo's for dessert! Imo's is another example of a once-great company that has slowly, but surely been cheapening some of their ingredients. It started with the mozzarella cheese. For those of us who prefer mozzarella over provel, they've switched to a finer grade so that there's not enough cheese on the pizza unless you pay for double cheese. Then they changed the bread on their sandwiches. The hoagie rolls used to be that great old-fashioned Italian bread. Now it's a totally different consistency and taste like eating a sponge. IMOs still has wonderful pizza, wings and pasta but the sandwiches are no longer edible. Imo's PLEASE bring back the good Italian bread and stop trying to cut corners. You're still the most expensive pizza in town and I for one, I'm glad to pay extra for extra good quality. read more

I think that Imo's was probably the restaurant my family was most excited to check out when we visited St. Louis. Imo's serves 'St Louis Style' Pizza which is quite a bit different. Instead of using mozzarella they use Provel(sp?) cheese. The cheese has a creamy taste to it. The best way for me to describe it is to say it's like dipping a hot grilled cheese in tomato soup and taking a bite. It's ok... If you like creamier cheese you will probably like it. I thought it was very good at first but then felt it was maybe too creamy for my taste. My daughter, who is very picky even when it comes to pizza, absolutely loved it. We also got the bbq wings and they were pretty good. We were all very excited to try the toasted ravioli we heard so much about. We were all sadly disappointed. It could be because we are used to eating cheese ravioli but the meet inside was mush and the 'toasted' ravioli wasn't really that toasted. They were kind of warm and soggy. I am sure that if they were crispier and hotter they would have been a little better. We found this to be pretty affordable. The customer service was top notch. If it were up to my family we would be back again.. I'm kind of meh about it but I think this pizza definitely comes down to personal preference. read more

My family and I came here to experience St Louis-style pizza upon the recommendation of our Uber driver and a lot of local websites online. We ordered the veggie pizza and toasted ravioli. The crust is very thin and tastes like crackers. Imo's uses a combination of Swiss, provolone and white cheddar instead of mozzarella and this combination makes the pizza absolutely amazing. Would definitely recommend any pizza here. The toasted ravioli, also a local favorite, tasted like fried breadcrumbs on the outside and it has gooey spiced beef on the inside. This is, by Far, the WORST Imo's location I have ever had. I frequent this location often and EVERY SINGLE time ITS HORRIBLE. well, I made my last visit the other day. Want anything baked? Forget. They just hate using cheese. The cheese bread is always dry and there's ONE slice of cheese on it. The baked pasta has little cheese and the meat taste spoiled. Every time. Let me start by saying that I am a big fan of provel cheese. I wouldn't say that I'm a die hard fan nor would I make the claim that it's "DA BEST CHEEZ EVAR!" but I do enjoy it on occasion. Enter Imo's pizza, another iconic restaurant with a long standing tradition in Saint Louis- famed for being one of the first pizzeria's here to not only use Provel instead of Mozzarella, but also claim to be the pioneers of thin crust pizza. I can't say I'm a huge fan of their pizza. Please! Be reasonable! Before you throw the first stone, hear me out! Do as I did when I went this last time, order your favorite pizza and get half of it mozzarella and half provel. I got a deluxe. I really liked the provel side. I like that the cheese is creamy and sweet. How it somehow homogenizes the tastes of all ingredients into something rich and unique. I also have to admit that it's easier to eat since I don't have to play cat's cradle whenever I pull a slice from the pan. All in all, I can see why this unique flavor has kept Imo's in business over the years. A taste of the mozzarella side provided some further insight. Without the unique flavoring of the provel as a crutch, the pizza was, well, terrible. The veggies on my deluxe were sopping wet (not to mention the whole damn pizza!)- most likely an indicator that they used frozen vegetables. Which is a violation of Pizza 101- NEVER USE FROZEN INGREDIENTS! Running the frozen stuff through the ovens only thaw the ingredients...which means you end up with a lot of excess water on the pizza AND uncooked ingredients. Additionally, all ingredients were somewhat flavorless compared to the provel side, and, as the last straw, the mozzarella was very tacky and chewy- a noxious entity in it's own right. If I woke up in the middle of the night craving pizza, would I hold vigil until Imo's opened? No. If I were passing by an Imo's and felt a craving for pizza, would I return? Probably not. But for those who have never experienced provel on pizza, I think it's worth a shot. Just once. Why not? read more

I understand that teenage apathy. I was a teenager not too long ago. But when a customer ( a sweaty and crusty-looking customer at that) comes in and asks what's the difference between two salads, giving off some 'tude blows. I get a large salad that comes with pepperoni and other stuff with cheese. It comes to me LOADED with olives. Was I aware of olives coming on top of this? Nope. I brought it back and they said, sorry you ordered it like this. After picking out the olives, the salad was all right. St Louis Pizza is thin pizza with little sauce.My pizza came to me and it looked undercooked. Hamburger, pepperoni, Canadian bacon, onion and cheese. The hamburger meat was just a speck, the pepperoni was comparable to those found in Lunchables, the CB was good, onions were plentiful but the cheese, well, the only way to describe it is that it tasted like it was spoiled. Tangy and that's not good. But after getting a snarl before, I wasn't gonna complain again. Imo's is 'known' for their fried rav's. Haven't tried it but it did not look appealing. read more

Don't believe the hype. I remember having Imo's a long time ago, as a child. I hated it. I thought it was disgusting. I swore off of thin crust pizza for YEARS afterwards, because I thought that all thin crust pizza would taste like Imo's. Well, years later, I thought that I'd try to give Imo's another shot. After discovering some thin crust gems around St. Louis, I thought that Imo's deserved another chance. Me and Andy split a 14 inch supreme pizza. Half with provel, and half with mozzarella. I tried a bite of the pizza with the provel. Yep. Just as sickening as I remembered. How does this processed garbage pass for cheese?!? Sick. It doesn't even TASTE like cheese. Just a gummy, gluey mess that holds the toppings in place. I tried a bite of the pizza with the mozzarella. Slightly better, but not by much. Despite the fact that we had every meat and vegetable topping on our pizza, it was still super bland. No depth of flavor, just pre-frozen toppings slapped on a cracker thin "crust". Oh, and the best part of the experience? The dopey teenage girl who took our order. We requested half of the pizza to have mozzarella. I verified that the remaining half would have provel on it. Her response? "Umm...I don't think we have that?" Uhhh, are you NEW? She quickly realized her mistake and punched in our order. Wow. The youth of today. Maybe all of that provel did a number on her brain. Anyway, I know that some people swear by Imo's, but you can do much better in St. Louis. Trust me. read more

Imo's is some delicious pizza, and you're in for a treat if you know what to expect! Is this gourmet pizza? No Is this a fine dining establishment? No Do they receive an A+ (or even a B-) in customer service? No Is this standard pizza? No! But, if you're in the mood for some ooey gooey pizza-y goodness, then Imo's is a perfect no frills sort of place. Pizzas are cheap and delicious-- I think ours was $12 for two people, including toppings. Disclaimer: Imo's is not "regular" pizza. It's served on a very thin, crunchy cracker crust with provel cheese as the topping, so it's got a sharper more unique taste. I'm pretty particular when it comes to eating pizza. Okay, actually I'm not, but there are things that I know that I do like and not like. For St. Louis, everyone seems to be up in arms about the thin crust square cut pizzas. Now when I came here this was foreign to me because the pizza that I had always known had be in pie from. Well, after a while the St. Louis style of pizza has started to warm up to me. I have grown to understand while people like square cut pizza. They can eat a whole pizza and not feel like a pig because they eat only one bit at a time, like picking off the toppings when you first get it at the door as you bring back to the kitchen after you have paid the delivery guy. I absolutely love Imo's Pizza, and when I moved into my house a few years ago I was pumped to have one walking distance! Now every location is interdependently run, and I just love the staff at the one in Webster Groves! Every time I am in there it is packed full of people enjoy their pizza and their selection of beers and other alcoholic drinks :) They do have a Salad Bar that is available, but I have never gone in there craving a good salad ;) I also put pepperoni and pineapple on my pizza, and if I ask the crew to go heavy on the pineapple they don't charge me extra - which is always nice! Just a side note for new comers, they have a parking lot in the back - so don't feel like you have to try to parallel park on the front street! It seems like all of St. Louis gets their daily pizza from a chain called Imo's with over 40 locations in the area!!! I cannot remember ever seeing a Papa John's or a Dominos ever, anywhere, which could suggest a Socialist cabal that controls the pizza market here, in cahoots with corrupt City Government. They may even have had a hand in the murder of A. Scalia, who knows? I am of course only speculating. One thing that supports a conspiracy theory when it comes to St. Louis-style pizza is their choice of cheese. No mozzarella for them, rather a cheese-hybrid called "Provel" that has a lower melting temperature, and thus you avoid the stringy gooey mozzarella effect that normal Americans delight in with their pizza. The color is dull orangey-yellow, and Provel would be unpleasant if it were not just flavorless. That and the fact that circular pizzas are sliced like the Cartesian gridwork that makes up most of the city, indeed the Midwest. It's a St. Louis thang, and of course all the natives who grew up with this worse-than-Velveeta caliber Provel wax nostalgic about their native cheese, and outsiders like myself shake their heads.... and vote with their stars. Certain Imo's chains will allow mozzarella substitutions, so I recommend a half-n-half approach so you can at least say that you tried the "authentic" St. Louis pizza. read more

I grew up in Webster but live in Seattle now and I just made my mom drag an Imo's pizza and Webster Italian dressing (divided into TSA-acceptable 3 oz bottles) halfway across the country in her carry-on when she came to visit me. As a general rule, Seattle pizza blows and Imo's pizza is an otherworldly culinary creation. Crispy, thin but sturdy, PERFECT crust; lightly spicy sauce; happily basic toppings; all completely enveloped by provel, a cheese 'product' that only exists in the midwest...who invented this pizza? And the tangy, sinus-clearing dressing, which I have dipped the pizza in my whole life? You are a genius! Anyone in St. Louis who likes, but doesn't truly appreciate Imo's, move away and you will. This is about as good as it gets. Let's just say that I am supposed to not eat gluten or else I get really sick, but this is one of the few foods I am willing to feel bad afterwards for. Although I like every kind of Imo's pizza, I still order their cheese pizza every time. A trip to Imo's also isn't complete without an order of toasted ravioli and their salad (I even keep bottles of their salad dressing on hand for the rare occasions I make myself a salad). Still not convinced how good it is? My sister, her boyfriend and I shared two extra-large pizzas, an order of toasted ravioli, and a salad yesterday and there was not a crumb leftover (and yes that is a ton of food).
