This is a very dishonest and scandalous company. Not to mention the work they did in my apartment is terrible. They did a mold removal for the previous owner who only wanted to quickly sell the property. It was a major mold issue behind the wall. Instead of doing what the mold inspection company suggested they did half of the wall 2 ft or so down. There is literally a dark line between the old wall and the new wall. They also lied to the city stating there was no mold to avoid certain requirements. Like pulling permits. This means they are not required to do a good job. While the immediate restoration team did a good job taking out the damaged drywall, carpet, and tile in our bedroom and bathroom I would never choose to work with them again. When we first contacted them they were quick to show up the first night but failed to communicated quickly and schedule the follow up work to be done after asbestos testing. The first night they implied this could be done immediately after test results came though but wasn't scheduled until almost a week later. On the day the final work was done (this entailed removing remaining tile, carpet and drywall) the contractor had us sign off on the work then quickly take off. I wish we had taken a closer look at the rest of the house first. The remaining rooms on the same floor were covered in a thick dust, see photo, and our other second level was covered in a thin layer of dust. They sent someone to my house to check for water damage. They had no problem cutting holes into my ceiling. The guy said he'd be back the following day to do the repairs. He never came back. We called them and were told it would probably be a couple of weeks so we might want to find someone else to do the repairs. We told them wed wait the couple of weeks for them. They said we'd get a call to schedule. Never got a call until today when they called for payment for the visit where they checked for water damage. They never even sent a bill. I gave them my email address for the bill and told them we were still waiting for the repair. She said she would have someone from the office call as she only handled payments. I got a call from the office saying that they weren't going to do the repairs at all. Horrible communication and a lot of lies. read more

I had a plumbing issue that caused a gray water backup into my home. The plumbers called Emergency Services Restoration to start the mitigation, and they in turn called Immediate Response Restoration (which I've recently found out is a sister company of ESR). The contractor from IRR was rude, and their work left much to be desired: They left half of the door trim on, even though it was damaged. They were slow to provide quotes for the work done. They did not remove the carpet that was damaged in the master bedroom, causing a second visit by ESR to remove that. After two weeks of asking, they finally provided a quote for the renovations: Their "flooring guy" would refuse to install flooring that wasn't provided by him. When reinstalling the vanities and toilets, they would not reconnect the plumbing. I would not recommend them to anyone, even people I dislike. read more

We contracted with them at the suggestion of our plumbing company Lloyds Plumbing due to a leak from our 2nd floor to our Kitchen. They were extremely slow and did not complete work. For cabinetry they had to re-do they ended up removing glides for drawers and it took three weeks and numerous calls to get them replaced. Our kitchen was down from mid March thru June. Mike came to us without any background check, but I would hire him in a heartbeat. Worst ever. I had water damage and my plumber contacted this company. They removed part of my travertine flooring that the insurance company said they should not have done bc it is natural stone. I had to pay for the flooring they ripped out. They tore out part of a cabinet in one bathroom and did not tell me or report to insurance. Wasn't covered. They were pulling the humidity from the wet bathroom but never turned the water to the toilet off so it kept sucking humidity from there so had to keep the machines way longer than necessary. The Mitigator lied insanely, promising this and that then quit part way through the ordeal and the company never contacted me nor provided a new point person. It wasn't until I called them to complain about him that they told me he quit. I could go on and on with all of the issues. I strongly recommend you find another company. read more

Maybe one of the worst contractors I've dealt with. Little regard for quality of work being performed, which says a lot since they were only doing demo. Dans crew left a mold section of tile at the intake of two operating floor scroll fans. This resulted in blowing mold spores throughout my house. Dan verbally stated that a plastic sheet barrier would be placed in the hallways adjoining the demo area to alleviate drywall dust in our house. This item was stated as a line item on the contract but was not performed. I was finally able to reach dan on the phone 2 days later. When questioned on these issues he had no answers. When asked why there is a line item for 1 hour of "supervision" on a two hour job, yet he didn't have any answers, he asked "is there a problem here". He also asked why I was concerned since insurance was paying for this. He demonstrated a blatant lack of respect and concern for simple health and safety concerns. If you are looking for a sub-par demo crew that will happily take your insurance companies money, then give these guys a call. If not, I recommend looking elsewhere. read more

Mike and his team did an outstanding job restoring our Brentwood home after two separate flooding incidents. They worked very well with our plumbers and other sub-contractors to make sure everything was done right and as quickly as possible. The end results were beautiful. I especially appreciated how easy it was to communicate with Mike, and how reasonable and rational he was regarding finding solutions to some challenging problems related to the restoration. I would like to extend my appreciation for the amazing work & effort Robert Hartly had made to assist my mother with her water leak damage. The endless hours & months fighting with our Insurance agents has been exhausting not only for my mother & me but for Robert too. The professionalism & patience that he portrayed has impressed us both, had he not made the time to fight for us with the insurance company we wouldn't have gotten the repairs we needed and we would have been in debt for additional repairs after the fact. Initially I decline to use Immediate Response Restoration as our contractor because the bid was higher than the other contractor's invoice. After Robert review the other contractors bid (who was referred to us by our insurance company) he noted that there were many repairs needed that were not on the bid and other repairs that were listed were not up to date per the California building codes, my father who is a retired contractor in Texas confirmed Robert's findings were legitimate. After discovering five inches of water under our WLA house, Emergency Services Restoration came out and sucked the water out almost immediately. Immediate Response Restoration came after to dry everything out. Mike who was my contact through it all was wonderful. He called back each time I called to talk about the work's progress and he even was proactive and called with updates on his own (amazing communications for these days). The ESR person who was removing the water was great, too, giving us updates as he worked under the house and took pictures, which we greatly appreciated. The IRR person worked with our plumber so he could fix the leak before the dryers went in, which again we greatly appreciated. Overall, I'd highly recommend both ESR and IRR as they made a difficult time much easier. read more

This is the worst contractor I've ever dealt with. Over-charged, rude and unprofessional. Without sending me the contract and getting my agreement, they demolished the kitchen of my rental property. Then they charged me over $3000 for the job. When I argued that they didn't get my permission, the guy threatened to send me to collection company. IMMEDIATE RESPONSE RESTORATION and EMERGENCY SERVICES RESTORATION in Lawndale are right next door to each other and affiliated with each other, possibly the same owners but I haven't confirmed that. After a plumbing issue that caused water to leak from a bath tub onto the first floor bedroom, the ceiling and flooring had to be removed. Emergency Services Restoration (Josh Hagewood) handled this part of our problem. IMMEDIATE RESPONSE RESTORATION was sent in. We dealt with their Estimator, TONY GONZALES. TONY GONZALES' quote to our insurance company included replacing the carpet. TONY was a bit of a bully about the payment demanding payment for certain things before the job was complete. He even went so far as to say "He would have to send us to collections" if there wasn't payment at a certain time. The job wasn't even complete at that point and we were simply waiting for the insurance check, which came fairly quickly. On the final day of work, the walls had been repaired and painted....but no flooring! No carpet, nothing. TONY refused to complete this portion saying it was not included in the quote. My husband went ahead and paid the amount, which was over TONY'S original estimate. We later called the insurance adjuster who confirmed the original and less expensive quote contained replacing the carpet. TONY GONZALES is a real shyster. We even made a call to IMMEDIATE RESPONSE RESTORATION after confirming with the insurance adjuster and all they did was have TONY call back and still refuse to replace our flooring. Bottom line, if you check out this company or EMERGENCY SERVICES RESTORATION prior to them coming out for work.....DO NOT USE EITHER COMPANY. First off, Rob was very nice when he came to my home for the initial inspection. He offered me a "cash" price or an "insurance" price, meaning if I were to go through my home insurance, he would charge more. I explained that I would be using insurance, however in the end they wouldn't pay the claim. So I get an itemized bill 1. Emergency call (8-5pm) $161 2. Supervising Lead Cert. tech $60.49 3. Initial equipment set up $57.64 ALL Fine charges....now ... 4. 2 men wearing PPE (personal protective equipment) $35/per visit. $70 Okay, here's the problem..."PPE" was not worn, and one man dropped off fans and 2 picked them up? Apparently "gloves" are also "PPE" 5. Containment barrier $50 THERe WAS NO bARRIer (they took this charge off after I called them on it) 6. Apply microbial solution 0.25/per sq foot $50 7. Equipment monitoring $125/visit It does not state that this is a charge to pick up THEIR equipment, it states "monitoring and manipulation" but they charge $125to pick up THEIR EQUIPMENT??? 8.+ 9 $600 for 3 days of two fans (that was fine) Please look over your bill and make sure it's correct! I had three erroneous charges on mine!! Call around and demand honest business practices! It's your money! Oh and "Norma" is a treat to speak with regarding your bill..NOT! She's rude, condescending and at one point while I was asking about my bill, she so rudely said, "people like YOU just don't want to pay their bills!" Like I had no right to question the charges? We were on vacation when we had a flood. The house sitter called Emergency Services Restoration on the referral of a plumber that we will never again use. Emergency Services is the sister company of Immediate Response Restoration. They both are extraordinarily dishonest. The billed for both hourly work and for the demolition. The number of hours they billed for the hourly work alone was far in excess of the number of man hours they were at my house. I eventually kicked them off the job and then they proceeded to invoice my insurance company for work they didn't even perform. I don't have a problem paying service providers a fair price for work performed, but these guys are just dirty. read more

Be very careful with these guys. Tried to charge for work not performed. The subcontractors hired to perform the work were sub-par at best. All work was subcontracted out. IRR wasn't even present when work was being performed by their outside contractors. Subcontractors showed up without the proper material to perform their work, causing me to make runs to the hardware to buy what they should have brought in the first place. Communication was basically a one way street. Quality of work was so-so. Arrived late regularly, and on two occasions couldn't fully perform work that was expected to be completed that day. I was told that this is an "insurance approved pricing" company and that my contractor and the insurance will work together on pricing. Truth of the matter is that was a blatant lie. I had a water heater leak, when the Home Depot (Fast Water Heater) guys showed up to replace the water heater, they discovered mold. Luckily the water heater was in the garage. On their recommendation, I contacted Immediate Response for Demo (after the mold report) and reconstruction. Robert Hartley, was assigned as the lead Project Manager, he showed up right after he received the mold report. He explained it to me in detail as to what needs to be taken care of and prepared estimates for the Home Insurance folks right away. Once the insurance approved the claim, Horatio came in to perform the demolition and setup the enclosure for drying. They gave it a couple of days for drying and then sent in Miguel for reconstruction. Miguel was quick and did a superb job. Everyone at this company is extremely professional and supportive as you are going through a not so pleasant experience of demolition, cleanup and reconstruction. No one pushed you to get paid right away. They worked around our schedule and waited for insurance claims to be approved. I am pleased with their services, even though I didn't pick them. read more

OK, so ESR and IRR have very negative reviews. Maybe after all the one-star reviews their policies changed, I don't know. What I do know is I have just finished with the removal, remediation and reconstruction of four rooms after a hot-water pipe burst. Mike was the contractor with IRR. He looked over everything, saw what needed to be done and got everything moving. Dais, his right-hand guy got to work. Four weeks of tearing out, drying out, remediation, a couple of testings and reconstruction and everything...everything looks better than before the pipe burst! At no point was Mike or Dais unprofessional. They were always courteous and informative. Everything was explained and my questions were always answered. If I had any concerns or questions i could text or call Mike and if he didn't pick up, he always called back; every single time! Not once did he not immediately call me back. Dina at the IRR office just called me to ask after the service provided and I was happy to tell her how much I appreciated Mike's work and how he went beyond what he needed to do. The pack-out people when walking the moldy wet items from one room, dripped it across an undamaged room with 1-year old carpet...it was a mess and I mentioned to Mike how unhappy I was about the pack-out company not yet cleaning it. He called them immediately. My carpet was cleaned within a few days! I hope not to need reconstruction or mold-remediation or any of those things again but I wouldn't have any hesitation on using IRR, providing I can have Mike and Dais come back to do the work. read more

I want to express what a great job Alfonso did in the removal of our drywall and insulation. It was a complicated job with "backed" cabinetry behind all kitchen cabinets. He was conscientious about keeping the area extremely clean and dust free throughout the whole process. He was thoughtful with my moms home and kept me appraised of what was going to happen. My experience in the bay area seems different from others' in SoCal. AT my plumbing company's suggestion they did work in mid2014 at my San Francisco home after a bathtub seal leak, and were pretty timely, informative and thorough. I've had no issue with that work since. Over 4 years later after a separate toilet leak, I called another recommended company who tried to change their quote and then would not come out to do the work, so I called IRR again. Tim Day was very responsive and professional in quoting, and Brent was informative and quick, just great in doing the work over a few days in January 2019. read more

The demolition performed by the contractor seemed to have gone without any problems....until I went to use lights in the kitchen in the vicinity of the area where the demo was performed. The over head lights had no power, the in sink food waste disposer would not turn on and 2 other power outlets below the counter had no power. I checked the main panel circuit breaker and none of the breakers had tripped. I also re-set the GFCI outlets but still no power. I called the company and and was transferred to the contractor who had performed the work and was told that no wires were touched during the demo process and that basically I was SOL. The company sent an invoice for the work performed and called after a couple of weeks to collect payment. I relayed the issues I was having with the caller and told them I would not be making a payment until the electrical issue had been resolved. The company has been absolutely zero help in trying to locate or resolve the problem and the started threatening to place a lien o the property. And when I have called the company to try and pay my invoice I and transferred to a voicemail repeatedly so cannot make payment. Sucky experience. Waste of time.
