With other quotes I've had contractors push their vision in my space and over price the job by a long shot but not Eric. Eric is respectful, aims to please the client, and is extremely responsive which is key when working together. His employees were respectful of my time and space. I like to do home projects with my husband, so I really micromanage my house if I hire someone and these guys always did as I asked with a cooperative attitude. Was looking forward to working with them but never heard back with a quote after following up a few times. Was told it was sent but I never had it in my inbox and my time should be valued and respected just like theirs. I really wish people can just be straightforward rather than make you chase them down and make excuses (check your spam, it should have been sent, etc) - it's totally okay if the job was too small/wasn't desirable, so just tell me that instead of giving people the run around. We just had two bathroom remodels done by Eric and his team. They tore the bathrooms down to the studs, did additional plumbing work that was needed, and they facilitated the permitting process as well. We were so pleased to find a contractor who was honest, really listened to us, and handled the whole job with attention to detail and integrity. Any time we had concerns or when something unexpected came up (those little issues that are unavoidable with construction), Eric and his team were proactive and took care of any issues immediately and happily. They wanted the job to be done right and took pride in the quality of their work. His whole team as well as subcontractors worked hard, showed up when they were scheduled, had great attitudes, and cleaned up after themselves every day. Trash pickups are done regularly so we didn't have a big dumpster in the driveway. They are careful to work neatly and use machines that help handle the dust created. I have to mention Eddie (tile) and Uriel (drywall, painting, etc.) by name as we were so impressed with their meticulous work and patience with my many questions, requests, and peeking in on the progress. In a city full of bad contractors, we were a little apprehensive in posting a review, since we found a GREAT one. Not because he has an amazing attention to detail or keeps the job site clean. Not EVEN because he works with the same talented local craftsman, or generally cares about matching his work to his client's HIGH expectations. I'm on the board of an HOA and had the daunting task of finding a contractor to satisfy the new balcony law (SB326) and had to rebuild 10 balconies in our complex. After meeting or speaking with a dozen contractors, Eric was straight forward, open to walking the property and met with our board to go over his bid line item by line item. When they had to reschedule due to family emergency, they called in a timely fashion and rescheduled instead of leaving us hanging. Eric showed up right on time and listened to what we wanted and was understanding to the fact that we might not be able to do everything in one shot. The estimate we were emailed was broken out by project and itemized for every aspect of said project. And the office called me to ensure I had received the email, but then did not continue to call to pressure me into a decision. My issue with this company is that they came out to give a quote and then left me hanging. Jim (the estimator/partner?) left our house and said "looks good... let me get a quote together for you after I do some research". Jim then emailed/texted me to get more info on the existing hardware. I sent him everything I had (which was not that much). I didn't hear back so reached out two more times over the next month and was told "waiting to hear back from the manufacturer" and then, two weeks later, "Should have everything back to you by Monday"... never heard from him again. It's been over three months now, I think... no quote, no follow-up. It would have been fine to hear from him something like, "Ya know, the job is not right for us" or "We've gotten really busy and can't help you"... but to just leave us hanging when I could have been spending my energy looking elsewhere is irritating and left me thinking that this outfit is less than fully professional and considerate. So, yes, give them a call... they seem to know what they are doing (that's why they didn't get two stars from me!). But if you get ghosted, you heard it hear first. read more

We had originally planned on just replacing floor with a tile company, but they found the floor and drywall was rotted between the tub and toilet. At that time we made the decision to do a full remodel. Two different contractors/handymen simply failed to respond after initial meetings. With a baby on the way, we needed the work done so I went to Yelp and found EG's construction. Eric, the owner, was responsive and professional. He worked around our schedule to do an initial survey and quickly got us a reasonable and detailed estimate and a timeframe for completion. It laid out all that was covered, no haggling or guesswork needed. He also gave us all the info on items that would need to be purchased (how much tile, size of fixtures) Eric had different teams come in for specific jobs (ex: demolition, plumbing, electrical, etc.). He or a supervisor would come check on the work daily and were in constant contact with us. Any issues that came up were handled quickly, courteously, and professionally. We have a pipe burst in the middle of the night in our kitchen. It was the pipe from the refrigerator to the water supply, which will allow us to get ice cubes and water. We called e.g. construction and spoke to Eric. He told us that he would be there the next day and he was here. he told me what he would do for me, and said he has his contractors license, which was true as I looked it up online. our kitchen was totally damaged because of water. We had a restore team come in and do that wiping away of the wet wood. They got rid of that and then And Kim, Eric and his crew. He had told me that they would be working back-to-back every day, except for weekends. That was totally true, and they even worked on some Saturdays. He told me it would be six weeks and that's what it took. they transform my kitchen into a beautiful work of art. It looks like a model kitchen. He gave me lots of bang for the buck. The update is my flooring robots to tile and grout, gave me a new countertop and recessed lighting. These were all extras. Eric was one of the three contractors we met with, for our remodeling project of the new home we recently bought. We had a huge list of big and small things we needed to get done - flooring, fireplace removal, exterior and interior painting, framing a closet, recessed lighting through out the house, adding a skylight, garage cleanup/upgrade, kitchen cabinets staining and a lot of other smaller things. Eric sounded very sincere & genuine and his estimates were reasonable and detailed for every task. We are very glad we chose EG's construction. Eric started our project in the week that he promised. He is always responsive to all our questions and that is one of the most important things for the project to go smoothly. His crew and subcontractors are all great & provide quality work. He comes by for supervising and monitoring the work when needed, and makes sure that the quality of work is never compromised. He tries his best to schedule tasks on time in order to keep the project moving along, even if scope gets added on during the project. He is honest and true to his word - he even went back and reduced one of the original estimates after getting an accurate price from the sub-contractor. In a project this big, things can get left out or not get done as expected, that's just the nature of such projects, but he owns up to it and rectifies it to one's satisfaction. We went back and forth in our decisions at times during the course of a task, he was patient enough to deal with it. His invoices are always very detailed and clear, its easy to understand what one is paying for with the interim payments which are billed only for the work that has been completed. Eric and his team replaced/repaired a lot of termite damaged wood around our two story house. The cost was about a third of what was quoted by the termite company. The work was beautiful. You can't tell where the wood was blended or new pieces added. This allowed us to also have the entire house painted. They repaired some minor stucco issues, painted all of the stucco and the trim. New colors! Eric was very patient while we chose colors and provided many samples which Uriel painted on small sections of the house so that we could compare and make the best choice. The paint was premium quality and we are very happy with the way it turned out. The crew went above and beyond in cleaning up everything. Power washing around the porch, patio and driveway, cleaned the skylights, even wiped down the dusty car. I think things were cleaner than when they got here.
