We had a mold issue in our primary bedroom. Ricky gave a thorough quote and helped to feel confident that the remediation scope would fully address the issue. His team set up a solid containment, performed the work to scope, and passed clearance testing with a third party company. They also offered to leave their containment up (including some temp poles) for the duration of my build-back project. The team was careful of my house during the demo which involved carrying large, heavy pieces of shower glass down some stairs and through some turns. The only downside I found during the process was the need to pay for the site visit for the quote. This payment is credited to the bill and it wound up being a non-issue due to selecting BH environmental for the job, but none of the other companies I had out requested payment for the quoting visit. read more

UPDATE: I appreciate your pride and accountability in your business. We just had very little confidence that your bid - the only one for which we paid - was reliable. None of this process was communicated clearly to us. I appreciate the owner's effort to make it right with a refund of the fee. I wouldn't even recommend requesting an estimate from these people. I wish I hadn't. The star is because someone technically came out. They were the only ones who charged a fee to come out, and their inspector spent a total of maybe 50 seconds in the bathroom that had water damage. The person who came out told us would have an estimate within a day, and no estimate. Unlike the other companies that came out, he made no inquiry about the age of the house or mention of required asbestos testing. Overall, his visit did not inspire confidence that any estimate we did get (if we got one) would be valid or accurate (not require change orders). Maybe the reason why some reviewers say they're cheaper is that they cut corners? (We wouldn't know as we never got our estimate.) We were really dissatisfied even with our (extremely brief) visual inspection experience. Communication with respect to the process was not good (as we don't know what's going on). Clearly my short list selection process failed me here. ETA: Apparently they were waiting on payment for the estimate (no one made clear what this process was), which we finally got, and indeed did not include asbestos testing. read more

I was shopping around for a company that could get rid of the mold I found in my new home so I called to see if someone could come out and do an inspection. When I called I spoke with Stephanie who informed me that the inspection fee was $150 and I told her I was looking for the best company and the best price. She was very nice and even had the owner of the company contact me to offer me a free inspection. They had also asked if I would send over an estimate that I received from another company to offer me a better price. They sent someone out, I think his name was Roberto who seemed to come out just to say he did. He did not do an inspection at all but just looked around and said that he would go off of the other company's estimate that I sent a day before. Unfortunately, I never received an estimate and had to move on and secure another company. I was hoping to work with BH and was pleased with the communication of the office staff and owner, but it seems that the people they send out to "inspect" is causing them to lose business. read more

I had a great experience working with BH on removing mold from my house. Although the house is currently under construction and vacant, the BH team still took every precaution in securing the areas with mold and doing a thorough clean up. Ricky came the same day and did a thorough inspection of my unit. He did a baseline air sample outdoors, an air sample in my kitchen, air sample in my bedroom, and cavity sample in the bathroom. I was soo appreciative of everyone at BH! All aspects of customer service were considered, and I felt listened to, first and foremost! Word to the wise, don't waste time on a swab test and just invest in getting your own mold inspector to come out at first site of mushroom growth - or really at first feeling that you aren't feeling right. Allowing landlord to handle things means they aren't fully following a protocol in your best interest. My case had an unusual chain of events of mold growth under my toilet floor over 18 months after a fumbled re-piping job in my unit in 2022, which I didn't realize was brewing until full-on fungus growth finally pushed out from under my bathroom floor in August 2024. I had coughing and breathing issues I couldn't pinpoint, had even called around city depts to see if asbestos permits were done - nothing on file. When I should've just called BH first off in May of 2023, and then REALLY should've called them at first site of growth altogether, to get initial mold contamination results instead of allowing landlord to proceed on their own path to avoid addressing the breathing issues for these past 18 months. I did do a home-swab test after 1st growth, thinking the landlord would've done some type of their own mold test, but wanted my own just in case. They actually didn't and just repaired - which is great, but doesn't take away the last 18 months. I then inquired about the black mold that I did find was in my swab and wanted full-on proper mold inspector. Cut to, I found out from Tenants' Union that if landlord hired the Mold inspector they aren't required to show me the results, so I decided to jump in and get my own mold inspector on-site before the landlord's, just in case. And sooo glad I did, and big shout-out to Nissa at BH office, who made it happen for me! Rick came out next morning, I showed him original situation so he could gauge where to get the best air samples, and he was just so knowledgeable about factors revolving around my particular situation (4 samples taken)! He did wall moisture readings, whipped out plastic containers and a tripod to capture proper air samples, and further guided me on asking the landlord's mold inspector for a test I can't do as a tenant. His inspection took about 45 minutes and VERY glad he came before the other inspector, because I saw how landlord just brought a guy out who was only in my apartment about 10 minutes, only did wall moisture readings, and not full air capturing as Rick had, and I was unable to request wall sample due to how fast things went (and landlord standing right there, staring at me.) Test results came back next day!! And although I was basically not on track for my needing to get that test at FIRST sight of fungus growth and not leave it to landlord, Eitan, the owner, further helped with answering any follow-up questions for what my results meant in relation to dealing with landlord. I'm very grateful! Rick was the perfect guy with his extensive background and so professional, and Eitan's finalizing support made me feel i was in good hand every step of the way. read more

I had a great experience with BH Environmental. While rearranging furniture in a bedroom next to a shower, I noticed mold on the carpeting & baseboard. I contacted several mold remediation companies & decided to go with BH Environmental due to their availability and good reviews. Ricky Hernandez came out and did the inspection and advised me on my options & pricing. I decided to move forward with the mold remediation & they did an excellent job setting up containment areas and allowing us to still use the bedroom while the remediation process was going on. Since this was on a Friday, they came back on Monday to remove their equipment and to advise me on the source of the water leak which turned out to be improper sealing of the tub by a previous contractor. All in all, BH Environmental were very professional, were very careful about keeping our house clean while they did their work, and were very knowledgeable and gave me good advice on solving my water leakage problem. Updating my review for the new page! A few months back they did a great job removing the mold in our mudroom; they kept me informed despite me being out of town at the time of the job (more so than the relative I left behind to watch!). They were a little expensive, but their staff were willing to work with us to cut the cost by a lot by filling in a cancellation spot. I'd recommend mostly if you have the financial means to cover it, at it is a definitely a better job than a standard bleach method, which other companies can usually do for half the price at half the quality. read more

BH came to my apartment after there was some water and drywall damage, they tested for mold in the air and also the drywall since it was and older building for asbestos. both test came back negative. there test results are fast within one or two business days. they where professional and answer any questions I had.
