It was a long series of disappointments over company policies. Miron was able to prepare the floors and cabinetry and match prices on HD finishes. Him and Carlos designed custom cabinetry, which improved storage, at no additional cost compared to HD. I had an excellent experience with LA Home Construction. I had a sagging overhang in my back yard, and I was very concerned about the integrity of the structure. Another company had told me I needed to replace the beam in my attic, and the supports there, along with the posts holding up the overhang from below. The resulting estimate was exorbitant. Pasqual, the project manager for LA Construction, examined my attic and told me my attic beam was fine, as were the supports. He said I only needed to replace the external posts and replace them with thicker, heavier ones, anchored in cement. The company's engineer said the same. Pasqual was extremely knowledgeable, and a good communicator. He saved me a LOT of money, and the job he and his guys did was excellent. They were both fast and thorough. Miron, who runs the company, was quite personable, after a little bit of negotiation, we also came to terms on the repair of my back fence. That job was also completed to my satisfaction. I'm pretty particular about dirt and he and the team was very respectful of it, protecting my floors and ordering materials to ensure my place isn't overly difficult to clean after renovation was done. We hired LA Home Construction to build a deck for us on our rooftop. We chose to have material from Trex installed, which required them to prepare the decking by installing a massive underlying support structure as the surface of the roof had a slight slope for water drainage. The team designed the support structure to ensure that the decking materials were completely straight and flat, but retained spaces underneath for water drainage. In addition, they took our somewhat creative idea on design for the decking and managed to implement it so the final result looked exactly like we had envisioned. We could not have been more pleased with the final result. The final product is smooth, flat, and very sturdy underneath. Extremely professional job! I will also add that the job required the crew to bring everything up a narrow staircase to the fourth floor of our building, which they did by hand. It added additional challenge to the design, but the crew handled it very well, bringing hundreds of pounds of materials and equipment through our hallways and staircases with no damage to anything. The crew working on the install was extremely professional, considerate, and thorough as well, ending each day of the project with cleaning and vacuuming the work areas on the roof, and sweeping the stairs to ensure there was nothing left behind overnight. We can't say enough good things about the work that they did, and are now looking forward to furnishing the rooftop deck so we can enjoy some beautiful LA weather outside!! read more

We had two separate door projects with LA Home Construction. The first project was initiated through a random Yelp inquiry. LAHC was the only coherent and professional response. The project house was built in 1953. It's so difficult to locate contractors that can do more than plug in parts. Mid-century houses are super quirky and haven't aged as well as their Victorian or Spanish style counterparts. The first door project was quoted for timing and cost (except for incidental by-project expenses). Both were accurate. The worker arrived, was extremely professional and personable, and completed the project on time. The second door project used a different team but the results were the same. The were equally professional. Kudos for pulling out the original warped door and its obtuse frame to make a modern steel door fit like it had always been there. Since our Security door wasn't available, it was decided to wait to install the security peep hole -- better to put it in the right position instead of guessing. Such a wise decision on their part. We're super happy with both projects and and even happier we will always have a reliable, reasonable contractor for our ongoing renovations. read more
