I worked with Asaf/New Cali Construction for over a year on our whole home remodel/renovation. This was a complete gut with an addition. When I originally was looking for a contractor I reached out to 4-5 different companies, and I'll admit that Asaf did not come across as overbearing or intimidating and did not make you feel obligated to work with him. He was not the cheapest quote but definitely not the most expensive. It was somewhere in between. He provides a one stop shop type of service. I did not have to go find an architect to get the drawings approved or anything. He has a whole team from the architect who draws up the plans and gets them approved, to demo the final product and everything in between. He did finish the job within the time frame from his estimate in the beginning. It would have actually finished faster if the city hadn't been so slow with the permits and asking for more each time they came out to the property. I recently renovated (complete gut) my kitchen with New Cali Construction. I met with several contractors before choosing New Cali. I chose them because I found Asaf to be very organized, straight forward, knowledgeable, and the price was very fair. During the contracting process, Asaf gave me a file folder with his company's license and insurance information and a thorough contract which articulated the full process - demo to installation, permitting, and payment structure. It was great to work with a contractor that really cared that I understood the full process, when payments would need to be made, and how long the full renovation could take.
