I am very impressed with my designer Lisa Merkle. Her work is solid and she is a passionate and well intentioned person who knows her business. In the beginning we wrestled with certain aspects of my vision, but Lisa was easy to work with. She helped me pull together a great dining room project. The upholsterer, window treatment fabricator and painter she recommended all did wonderful work at reasonable prices. Lisa listened to my needs and desires and was very attentive, but not pushy. She was very budget oriented and always prompt. We redid the dining area in my small 900 sq. foot apartment. What she created was exactly what I had envisioned. She listened to my ideas, interpreted my sketches and left me with a space that is now useful and enjoyable to be in. The entire space seems much bigger. The scale and colors are correct for the space. It was too cramped and dark before. Now it's light, airy, fresh and modern, but still masculine. It's basically updated. She brought my 175 foot space to life with light fresh updated architectural colors that allow light to radiate and a feature wall in a taupe color, which makes my eclectic artwork pop. My ancient lighting fixtures were upgraded to a more modern style that give more light and update the entire look. I swore I didn't want a round table, but Lisa convinced me that with a leaf, I would have enough table space for dinners with the family. I feel better and enjoy the space much more. It's like a breath of fresh air that is in some way improving every aspect of my life. I love being there. My girlfriend refuses to eat anywhere else but at the table now. She has an incredible eye and understood how to make my condo look more cohesive. I had moved into my place, but it was largely furnished with old apartment furniture. For her years of industry experience and high net worth projects, she is fairly priced and works with you on the level of involvement your would (or not) like to take on. She also has creative ideas for lighting, cabinetry, color of paint, and making sure the furniture didn't weigh down the room. I tried putting my place together, but wasted more time and money doing it on my own. Also, I tried those free design services that furniture stores offer, but the problem is they are ultimately pushing their products and selection is limited. I first used Lisa Merkle about 6 years ago. It was to help me with a few pieces of furniture. I came to see what a great eye she had for style, so I slowly had her redo one room at a time until she helped beautify my entire home!! Lisa would choose the furniture, paint and accessories and each time I saw an incredible transformation. A couple of years ago I had her redesign and oversee construction of my bathroom. I told her I had stayed at a beautiful, stylish hotel in Greenwich Village and was extremely impressed with their bathroom, never thinking that she could create the same incredible look. But she did! My bathroom is gorgeous and the complements are still coming. What I love about Lisa is not only her taste, but the fact that she is a perfectionist. Her follow up and pride in her work has always impressed me. As she worked with the construction people she would check every single detail!
