Gregory from Master Cabinet did a OK job. There were several areas that need improvement. While the overall work was acceptable, his craftsmanship and work ethic left much to be desired. His team was very messy and did not maintain a clean work area, which created a lot of frustration. Additionally, Gregory made a measurement error and failed to take full responsibility for it. Although he agreed to come back to fix it, he wanted to charge an additional $100 for his time, even after we paid over a thousand dollars for the project. After trying to explain him, he said he would come back for "warranty" service but gave a timeline 2 months out stating he is "very busy at this time" His lack of a warm personality made the experience less pleasant. If you decide to hire him, be prepared to closely monitor his work to ensure it's done correctly. Proceed with caution. His warranty service will take months to get addressed if at all.
IN RESPONSE TO YOUR COMMENT BELOW:
1. I gave you specific instruction and blue print of the wine chillers and told you i need an opening of 48". Any gap/ filler needs to be measured accordingly. You got the right filler measurements correct, and the left one short, and you say this is not your fault?
2. While I monitor the work closely (imagine what else would happen if i did not), it is not my job to micromanage, hence why I hired a "professional". I don't go about measuring every single piece of wood you cut and install. It's your job to get it to turn out perfect. So after the appliances were installed, the gap became noticeable, and at that point i took the measuring tape and noticed left filler measurement was cut short compared to right. How is this not your fault?
3. I noticed the filler was initially not installed. Your foreman TOLD me that the work is not done and that your office will contact me for the final pieces. This was expected. You did not do it because you noticed it was missing. A second trip was due from the start. In fact, Michael, your foreman told me that YOU will come back AFTER we install the appliance to make sure everything fits perfect.
4. Any professional would own up to their workmanship, and come back immediately or within a week or two max to address any issues. You not owing your mistakes and trying to offer free services by making us wait 2 months is a questionable work ethic.
5. Clean work area - We all have common sense. You drilled cabinets to install handles in the laundry room. There were very visible clean laundry on that counter, which you could easily move to the other side or tell us to move. Better yet, cover it with plastic. You drilled right above it as if those clean laundry did not exist dropping wood dusts on clean laundry. No further arguments needed here for your sense of belonging. It's not yours you don't care what happens to it.
At the end, I no longer need you to come back as I do not want to wait a "reasonable" 2 months. I paid someone else to fix the error you "did not" make.
For me, it's not about wanting free services from you. I want you to own up to your mistakes, which you are not doing here, hence im taking an additional 1 star out for your work ethics. read more
