When we purchased our home, we made major renovations and I can find issues with everything everyone has done EXCEPT for the kitchen cabinets Richard and his team at RTC Services did. They were professional from day one and worked around contractors and movers but here are a few more reasons why they were so great: 1. When he came on day 1 of install, he said "i couldn't sleep worrying about whether the floors and walls were even". Richard is such a perfectionist he actually lost sleep worrying about our install and he was genuinely excited, like it was his own home, when he measured and saw that the walls and floor were even. 2. Richard made a trip to Ikea to pick up something we needed and only charged us for the actual item that he purchased and everyone who knows Ikea knows that alone makes Richard an angel. 3. Richard made suggestions in our layout that in hindsight the kitchen look so much better. 4. Ikea hardware (knobs and pulls) aren't great. Ikea's installers charge extra per knob or pull you use that isn't Ikea. Richard uses whatever you ask him to... that saved us hundreds. 5. He charges SIGNIFICANTLY less than Ikea's installers. They have a high standard for their work and they know how to make off-the-shelf Ikea cabinets look high end. I appreciate the little pieces of advice they gave me along the way. Richard and his team recently installed our Ikea kitchen for us and I couldn't be happier with the service. He was incredible easy to work with and the quality of the finish is fantastic. Right in the middle of the install we noticed an issue with the floor we had installed (not by RTC) and Richard was amazingly flexible as we navigated that, coming and removing the island he had already installed and then putting it back in once the floor had been fixed by the other contractor. I truly could not recommend Richard and his team enough if you are installing an Ikea kitchen. Oh, and Pam, who manages bookings and communications leading up to the installation is amazing. Ikea delivery issues are well known but we also had items unavailable to us due to supply shortages. Which meant RTC had to make several return trips in our case. Email communication was spot on and our project was very well managed by RTC. They squeezed us in at every given opportunity. Richard and his crew did an wonderful job at installing my IKEA cabinet frames and custom fronts. They are very professional, came with every tool under the sun! Richard started by measuring the space and asked me a few things about the appliances. Then his crew went right into work. They took care of the details, made sure that I will still have access to the outlets. Also, I ordered the handles from China which were very difficult to screw. They were too short for my custom fronts. But RTC were able to help me inset the difficult one. Wow, they are true professionals! They also saved me a lot of money by not opening some of the extra IKEA drawer sliders and lights that I didn't need. I would hire them again! Great customer service! Reasonable price. After getting an installation quote from IKEA's recommended vendor (more expensive than the purchase of the cabinetry plus a staggering 5-6 week lead time), I was given RTC's info from a trusted friend who had worked with them in the past. Within a day I was given a very reasonable quote, and an installation date within 1-2 weeks. I had purchased IKEA cabinetry but Semihandmade door and drawer faces. Richard and Juan knew exactly how to work with both, and the ins-and-outs of how Semihandmade's pieces were different from IKEA's, as well as how to make adjustments so it all worked together beautifully. Our house is 90 years old, so everything isn't perfectly level and even, but you wouldn't know it to look at the cabinetry. They did a stellar job making everything work. We had a couple of trouble spots due to our funky layout and Richard was able to help me find solutions for everything. The one piece of advice I would have would be to contact him BEFORE you purchase your cabinetry so he can help you trouble shoot before he shows up to install. I highly recommend RTC for all IKEA cabinetry installations, and will not hesitate to refer them to my friends. I am not a frequent yelper, but sometimes I feel compelled to call out extraordinary service. This is one of those times. read more

My old kitchen was in sorry shape, and probably hadn't been updated since the Nixon administration. So installing a new kitchen would be a huge undertaking. I love the IKEA kitchen concept, but the IKEA recommended design team/contractors were a nightmare. They were impossible to get a hold of and took 3-4 days to return a phone call. I was completely irritated and I started looking for alternatives, this is when I found RTC. I was pleased to see they were IKEA Certified. The owner Richard called me back within two hours. And his quote was like 1/2 the price. HIRED! His crew leads by Michael were outstanding. I can't say enough great things about them. They demolished my kitchen quickly and hauled away the rubble. I'm not savy with home repair, and he sketched out where outlets and items needed to be on the wall. This made everything much easier for me when I explained things to electricians and plumbers. They show up ontime and ready to work. Michael's three man crew assembled my 17x8 foot galley kitchen in 7 hours. That's incredible, and they even cleaned up afterwards. The kitchen turned out better than I could have imagined. IKEA says that you can install it yourself. I tried to deal with Signature Services, but was not impressed. I had to badger them to get a quote after waiting for two weeks. And their quote was much higher than I thought was reasonable. I then started searching around to see that Signature Services has less than a stellar reputation. That is when I ran across RTC Services. They were quick to respond. I got a quote and the work done in less time than it took to just get the quote from Signature Services. They scheduled a time within a week for the demolition of my kitchen and performed the rebuilt four days later. I needed the time before the rebuild to move outlets and perform other tasks. I reached out to him (because he had such great reviews) to see if he would install non-Ikea cabinets as well, and lucky for us, he does! He was very responsible and did an excellent job installing our non-Ikea cabinets (which was extra challenging since our floor was uneven and it included uppers and lowers). He even used some of his own wood to substitute for a couple pieces Home Depot forgot to include in the delivery (as a temporary solution). I highly recommend working with RTC and Richard. My wife and I did a complete remodel of our beach community "fixer-up" home. We initially worked with an independent Ikea kitchen designer (Rodney) are were super pleased with the new layout as it saved us a lot of headaches. When I asked for referrals for an installer I was only provided with one: Richard C., the original installer for all Ikea kitchens coming out of the Southern California stores. Richard, his son Michael, and the crew are consummate professionals. They're fast, clean and clear in their communications which makes for very easy alignment of expectations. On site, Michael was able to answer all my questions, provide guidance on next steps and various considerations, and his crew even went above and beyond by helping me nudge a couple of appliances into place. My home remodel project ran long. The original kitchen cabinets and framework were installed to allow us to then have the sinks, countertops, backsplash, etc. installed. RTC Services was clear as to what point they should be called back to complete the cabinet trims, handles, plinth, etc. Along the way I had questions on mounting the apron sink and the valence for the under cabinet lighting. Second install date consisted of aligning all door and completing the kitchen. Overall very professional, accommodating, and clean. It's been a great experience working with Richard. My renovation project ran into a little snag and one of the kitchen walls was not finished in time for the install. Richard was very patient and accommodating. He did what he could during the first visit and then came back a second time to install the remaining cabinets, then a third visit after the flooring had been installed to install the toe kicks and finish off the miscellaneous items. Richard's experience and thoughtfulness were evident for my project. Not only did he save me money by letting me know what items could be returned, he also pointed out a mistake by the IKEA designer (she put in the wrong cabinet size) so I could return and re-buy. Amazing service and results! Richard has been an absolute pleasure to work with! We just finished our remodel in Simi Valley and we couldn't be happier with the results. I don't know what we were thinking, but we initially planned on installing our new Ikea kitchen cabinets ourselves. Luckily, we came to our senses and decided to get help at the last minute.
