After some tough negotiating in the beginning, Eyal delivered on our Bathroom remodel. We had a 4 week timeline and made it just a few days behind schedule which is pretty good for a construction project! Eyal spent time with us designing the project, sent us what we needed to choose from and showed us some really great tile and hardware options. First of all, I want to thank EYAL & his team(s). They really went above and beyond! They were respectful of my property, my time, my neighbors, and most importantly, my animals!! When my partner and I bought our first home in the summer of 2019, we knew that one day we'd need to renovate the bathrooms and kitchen, which were painfully ugly and old. That day came earlier this year when, in the wake of the L.A. fires, we realized it would never be easier or cheaper to do a major renovation. In addition to requesting bids from contractors who'd worked with friends of ours, we put out a request on Yelp. In total, we interviewed seven contractors in early February. It was a tough process. Every last one of them filled me with a sense of dread--except for Guil Weizman of MDRN Remodeling Co., one of the companies that responded to my Yelp request. Guil showed up at our house looking clean-cut and stylish--nothing like the schlubby, gruff guys who'd paraded through our living room earlier in the week. As he sat at our dining room table scrolling through images of MDRN's recent projects on his tablet, I was struck by the quality of the company's work, which was elegant, creative, and anything but cookie-cutter. I was equally impressed by Guil's calm and confident demeanor. He was only the third contractor we'd spoken to, so we continued to interview more candidates, but as we entertained their bids, I knew in my heart that we'd found our guy. Guil understands that you get what you pay for -- that great-looking and long-lasting materials inevitably cost more than basic ones, but are the right choice if you want to create a home that will still look beautiful in five, 10, 15 years. He understands the trends but instead opts for materials and colorways that are timeless. Along the way, he offered us numerous upgrades (to natural white oak cabinets, for example), and while we had to pay extra, I am so happy we said yes. Speaking of cabinets, MDRN's cabinetry is unparalleled. Marc, the cabinet maker at the MDRN shop, is a talented woodworker with a deep understanding of what makes sense in a kitchen (not to mention a custom closet or bathroom vanity, which he also crafted for us). We spent time with him on Zoom as he navigated us through the software he would use to design our cabinets. The process--from ideation to installation--was seamless. No renovation project is flawless. In one instance, Guil forgot to install a shower bench even though we'd agreed on it and it was part of our project's scope. He fixed his mistake, no questions asked. By the time we were close to completion in early July, I gave him our final payment even though there were numerous little issues that needed to be resolved, because I trust him implicitly. We had two bathrooms that badly needed to be remodeled. We got four detailed estimates from established contractors including MDRN Construction. Guil came to our house and spent nearly the whole morning working up the designs and answering our questions. We needed to replace a roof on a house and garage in a hurry to satisfy our insurance co. Guil responded quickly and had his roofer look at the roof on the next non rainy day We received the estimate quickly and I thought it was a good price considering the poor state of the roof. Our home turned out so beautiful!!! Better than I could even imagine. We did an entire house renovation and, although it was a long process, it turned out to be amazing! Before we found MDRN, we had been working with another architect who assured us the designs she drew were within budget but....surprise! They weren't. Every contractor bid was double our budget and that wasn't going to work. Then we met with Guil who did a completely new design his team could actually build for the budget we could afford. It saved us! Our home needed so many fixes, was very inefficient, had no storage and did not utilize the space well. The new design Guil created and has now delivered is perfect. We engaged MDRN to complete our kitchen remodel project which also included new wood floors, stairs, and a living room fireplace finish upgrade. While I work in the construction and development industry I am far from a designer and we were initially overwhelmed with all the options and how to best configure our space to bring all elements together into an attractive, functional package. While doing due diligence and working to select a contractor for the project we were impressed by Eyal and Guil's eye for design helping us to translate our ideas into a complete concept utilizing their 3D software tools to help illustrate what the completed project would look like. I chose this company of two brothers because of reviews, design photos and their seemingly kind personalities and enthusiastic interest in my home remodel. The remodel started in November/ December 2020. I noticed the project was stalling and taking longer than other commercial construction projects I had in the works, and every time I came to visit my home there were 1-2 men working on a 2200sqft full remodel. When I questioned the contractors/Brothers there was always reason for delays, lack or workers, incorrect supply orders. The contract mapped out all items to be remodeled by the team and as they would complete an item they would add change order fees for reframing/stucco /repainting. The main aspect of the remodel was creating an open concept living room & kitchen and a wall had to be removed and a supporting beam placed, once the beam was placed and the ceiling and wall closed up, they left exposed bolts extending from ceiling down the wall and attempted to charge me an additional $1200 for crown molding to cover the exposed bolts they created ( see pictures). A full interior paint was contracted and paid for and the entire house has streaky walls, chipped paint at base boards and some area water damage streaks from construction. After 11 months in construction I moved in October 2021 on top of the construction team and told the contractors I felt that they were completing other projects and stalling mine. When I moved in they told me all that was needed was the installation of my kitchen appliances and final inspection. The contractors team installed appliances and I noticed a smell, stove was installed incorrectly and gas compnay came out and fixed, bathroom and kitchen sinks leaked, a plumbing company came out an repaired connections of pipes installed by contractors. While taking a shower upstairs in my bedroom my family noticed water running down the den wall and eventually the lower level brand new floors lifting with water. Somehow the contractors team forgot to seal aspects of my shower and now the water had leaked all over the lower level of the home. At this point now walls, flooring and shower resealing had to be completed. I was so upset. After resealing the team left a orange chemical all over my shower tile that cannot be removed. I sent the contractors a list of all things in the home that needed to be addressed as they were half finished or not working. A very long story short...... I have had to hire other companies to repaint, redo, reinstall a remodel that I paid over $175,000 to MDRN to complete. As of today the final inspection has not been completed. read more

My wife and I have been wanting to remodel our home for a while now. We've been searching for contractors day and night to make our dream become a reality. I first started working with MDRN Remodeling when a renovation inside my house was abandoned mid-project. I was looking for an honest company that would take care the remodel of two bathrooms and small kitchen. Interviewed 5 different contractors including MDRN remodeling Co. Due to Eyal's and Guil's professionalism I selected MDRN remodeling Co and we are pleased with the results. Phenomenal. That's MDRN Remodeling. When people say to me "You're the only one who has ever said they had an amazing experience with their contractors," you know you hired the right people. Guil, Eyal and their exceptional crew were an absolute dream to work with, and I would share that sentiment ten times over with any potential clients who need a general contractor. I knew nothing about MDRN Remodeling when they contacted me through a referral service -- and I was immediately impressed due to their prompt reply and their willingness to talk to me about my project within a day or two. I needed a permitted sunroom rebuilt as it had a leaking roof and had deteriorated over the years, and I wanted it to be demo-ed and re-built as a permanent part of the house. I also was interested in possibly adding a 2nd story/master bedroom to the rebuild in the process. Guil and Eyal both arrived promptly and ready to work. They spent more than THREE HOURS with me when they came to give me an estimate, designing my project on an Ipad as I watched it all unfold with a to-scale 3-dimensional rendering. Guil is not only a contractor but an incredible designer, and he offered me insights and ideas about my project that I couldn't have possibly imagined. He steered me in a direction of not adding a second story but instead, converting my current kitchen into a 3rd bedroom and making the new build into a huge kitchen, giving my home an even greater open floorplan. I was so impressed with his design skills and Guil and Eyal's kind and courteous manner that I knew then and there I was going to hire them. Anyone who would spend more than three hours of their time with merely a "potential" client, not even one who has already hired them, was gold in my book. They weren't the least bit hard-sell, and I went with my instinct chose them as my general contractors the next day. Ultimately, I couldn't be happier with how phenomenal my project turned out. Once the permits were granted, the work went unbelievably quick. Even my neighbors were impressed with the speed of the remodel. But that isn't to say that quality lagged in any way-- in fact, quite the opposite. Not only was the workmanship and design first-rate, but their response to any issues (and I had minimal issues, if that) was met with an immediate fix. Guil and Eyal never deflected when I brought up a slight concern, and always took care of it to my satisfaction in a timely manner. If you have any hesitation about hiring general contractors, you have to give Guil and Eyal a shot. They're extraordinary people, hands down, and one or the other of them were at my house daily to check on the construction and remodel progress. If I could give them 10 stars, I would. Unlike others who don't place work ethic and respect for clients as their number one priority, Guil and Eyal do. They take pride in their craftmanship and will do everything in their power to do right by you. I contacted Guil for a garage conversion/ADU and the construction of a new patio with a five foot retaining wall . After speaking with many other contractors I decided to move forward with Guil and his team because he moved quickly to produce a detailed plan and scope of work contract at a very competitive price. Throughout the project, Guil and his brother Eyal were very responsive and had excellent communication for each step of the project. There were some challenges and hiccups along the way that delayed our project which is to be expected when dealing with city permits, paperwork etc. I felt that they worked diligently with me to the best of their ability to find the solutions and get our project to the finish line. We engaged MDRN Remodeling Company for a couple of related projects. They replaced and painted our front porch wood deck along with repairing the rails and painting those as well. They also installed rain gutters in the front in a manner which did not stick out like a sore thumb. Next they replaced our back yard deck with beautiful redwood which was stained with clear coat and again repaired and painted our existing railings. The steps up and down needed widening and they took care of that. They replaced some privacy lattice on our deck along with lattice skirting in the lower area of the deck. We also had an interior gate which was in desperate need of repair which they did and painted. Al and Guil are very attentive. Their crew was efficient, neat and personable. The job was finished earlier then expected and both the front and back look fabulous.
