Mike and his team (my work was managed by Roy) were amazing. I identified a leak in my roof during the recent rains which I wanted to get addressed. My roof is less than ten years old so I knew it wasn't going to need a replacement, and right now it's very hard to find quality help for a project that isn't huge. I reached out to a good friend of mine who is doing a major renovation on his home and he highly recommended the team he's working with (Four Seasons Builders). Even before we closed on our house, I knew we wanted to work with Four Seasons Builders on our kitchen renovation. From our first meeting, I had nothing but confidence in (owner) Mike's integrity, expertise and attention to detail. He really got my vision for what I wanted the kitchen to be, and had great ideas that I never would have thought of. He was careful to go over everything with me, a first-time home buyer, so all of the steps were completely understood and agreed upon, always without making me feel like an idiot. His initial estimate included possibilities that might come up along the way that would change the scope and cost of the project, so there were no surprises. The estimate made it easy for me to see what materials I was responsible for buying and what materials were included in the price. It was a really simple way to keep track of the work and the timeline. The only change orders that increased the initial estimate were things that I added along the way because I changed my mind. Mike was very accommodating with these changes and incorporated them into the timeline easily. In fact, even with my added ideas, they still finished ahead of schedule. Their designer Natalie is exceptional. In just one conversation, she understood the look I was going for. She was able to translate that into a precise but easy to understand 3D design that was an extremely accurate representation of the end result. Everyone on the Four Seasons crew was amazing -- skilled, friendly, and respectful of our property. They cleaned up every day, all of the materials and large pieces from the demo were either removed or stored neatly out of the way. Everyone went above and beyond to make sure things got done in a timely manner without sacrificing quality. They were all just nice people too -- one day I was parked on the street during our street cleaning time and they found me and reminded me to move so I didn't get a ticket. Such a sweet thing to do! Mike was on site on a regular basis to manage the project, and his guidance and input were valuable, making the final outcome even better than I thought possible. He anticipated a few things that could have developed into issues in the future, and was quick to find solutions. TLDR: You are probably in the same boat as us where you haven't had experience with a contractor to do remodeling, an addition, etc. So similar to other reviews here, if you want ease of mind regarding this significant investment, look no further. Mike and his team will strive to keep you well informed and in the middle of all the action as much or as little as you would like. He will provide you with alternatives when hiccups inevitably arrive, whether in the form of an inspector or a detail related to the placement of a pendant light. And he will ensure that the project will be on time or early to the best of his abilities. If not, you'll know well in advance what is causing the delays. Yes, you might pay a little extra compared to other contractors, but the level of customer service care is unbeatable. Even after project completion. For those of you who would like a more in depth review: We worked with Four Seasons Builders to remodel a 1940's home from a 2 bedroom 1 bath to a 3 bedroom 2 bath. The overall scope of work included, basically everything: - Demo - Updated electrical - Repipe/gas - New and updated drain systems - New guest bath, Master bath, master bedroom, and guest bedroom - New addition for dining and kitchen (including kitchen cabinets) and installation of all finishes - Drywall and interior paint - Exterior removal and new stucco and paint - Rip out baseboards and install new laminate - Insulation in walls of existing home, replacement of roof insulation - New windows and doors - Add HVAC (none in original home) - Demo non-permitted garage storage area - Window sills/mouldings - Ethernet drops The only things we probably didn't include was adding a pool and a second story. With that said, Mike was never hesitant about his team's ability to deliver on any one of these items and he gave us a 5-6 month project timeframe. Due to the city permit office being behind, we had to wait quite awhile before permits were issued at no fault of Four Seasons Builders. All along the way Mike kept us informed of what we could do to help move things forward while also having his own team checking in with the applicable contacts. We ended up starting work on the house in July and ended in time to spend Christmas in our new place. During that time we went on vacation(s) as did Mike, but whether he was around or not we would get updates regarding how the house was progressing. We would also stop by often to provide feedback if we had questions regarding what was being done or if an outlet looked out of place. Mike welcomed the hands-on feedback and encouraged us to be another set of eyes to ensure we had the same vision come to fruition. Texts would be answered promptly and usually a photo(s) or video(s) were also sent along as Mike would frequently visit the site. All of this boiled down to having a fairly stressful and financially significant situation becoming a rather enjoyable experience. Don't get me wrong, it was still great to be done with everything, but Mike will make sure to help guide you along each step of the way. Just completed my renovation with Four Seasons and I couldn't be happier!!! When I started this journey to renovate my entire 1100 sq ft. condo, I asked a few friends if they would recommend their contractors and they either said "no" or hesitated to give me an answer. I ended up taking my chances on yelp and interviewed 5 contractors. When I met Mike Litman (owner), I immediately had a good vibe about him. And while all 5 contractors were contenders, my instincts were telling me that he would be the best to work with. Well, my instincts were absolutely spot-on!!! Mike is THE BEST!! He estimated about 3 months for my condo and completed the project on time. I had moved out during the remodel so Mike was there almost every day checking up on his workers and the progress. His communication on the progress was excellent! He continuously kept me informed either by text, phone or in person. He would send me pictures (or even videos) during the day on some of the work...even while I went on vacation for a week. He also made me feel comfortable to ask questions, requests and changes. And while he admits he's not a designer, he helped suggest a couple of things based on his own experience. (Side note: I didn't hire a designer but I wish I did to ease some of the constant decision making for this size of a project). Sure, unexpected issues came as with any remodel. And in a condo, there are unique challenges dealing with the HOA and ensuring the neighbors aren't affected, but through it all, Mike was so patient with the challenges and handled things with a lot of professionalism. He even handled a problem with my permits and was able to resolve it quickly with minimal delay. And most importantly...Mike made sure that I was satisfied with the work. I had a rat-shaped issue that would not go away due to a hole behind my kitchen cabinet, and that was when I decided the kitchen remodel of my dream was finally in order. I found Mike after an extensive internet search, and it didn't take long before I knew he was the one. His years of experiences were reflected in his thoughtful responses. His care and attention to detail were evident from his conduct. During our first meeting, we talked for over an hour. Unlike other GCs I had met who mostly went with what I had in mind, I loved that Mike gave me a ton of ideas on appliance placement and layout recommendations that I hadn't thought of before. Mike wasn't the cheapest, but he was the most earnest. His estimates were spot on and we barely had three change orders of minor amounts and most of them were due to a change of heart on my part. Even with the change orders, he managed to finish the project a whole month ahead of schedule for a three-month-long project. Aside from Mike and his own aura of awesomeness, he had a crew of highly competent workers that are respectful, diligent, and dedicated. They worked tirelessly 6 days a week, from 8am to 6pm. My remodel, which was really a total rebuild of a third of my house, was extensive: Two load bearing walls removed, two ceiling beams installed, concrete poured, two headers installed for new exterior openings, three shear walls installed, plumbing and HVAC re-routed, and countless electrical circuits added. While all of this was happening, I continued living in the same house and enjoyed my normal amenities, except for my kitchen and laundry. With the exception of one day when it was just boring ol' drywall sanding, Mike was on-site every single day. He was always around to monitor progress and kept me closely apprised of what to expect next and any unexpected issues. I had a lot of questions about the details of their work, and he always patiently answered them even if they were in the "nice-to-know" territory. I still can't believe how much he put up with me throughout this project to this day. From the get go, I made a point to Mike that sealing holes to prevent future rodent intrusion was of the utmost importance to me, as that was what had set this whole project in motion. I shared my experiences with the rats and how they had robbed me of my sanity. Sure, he laughed at my paranoia and my hyperbolic reactions, but he took my worries to heart and instructed his employees to be extra attentive to closing up gaps prior to wrapping up for the day and accommodating us to install metal plates around plumbing and electrical holes to deter rodent entry. His thoughtfulness and warmth opened a door to an unlikely friendship, bonding over our overwhelming need for perfection. To date, I continue to go to Mike for consults on everything home-related. My house got damaged during the heavy downpour in LA and my ceiling caved. I had Mike recommended to myself by a friend and upon contact, I immediately got a call. He was very up front in terms of his cost and very cordial in every interaction we had. He patched, painted, replaced a window, attached recessed lighting, and replaced an old electrical box that was not up to city code. When the city inspector came and suggested a new location (we wanted it relocated as it was previously obstructing the view of our backyard) and we did not agree with the city inspector's location (the new location was obstructing our new master bedroom view), Mike was swift to examine and to reach out to the inspector for another assessment. It is now where we would like it to be and I am beyond happy. I would recommend him for all other contractor jobs. He only uses workers he trusts and I appreciate that. So, you've got that room in your house. The last owners forgot to remodel it. It's the ugly duckling. You're thinking about renovating it into something gorgeous. Perhaps, just as a fully armored Athena burst forth from Zeus' forehead, you have a fully formed design vision leaping forth from your brilliant mind. Perhaps you've got some design ideas, but aren't quite sure how to put it all together. Call Mike. He's your guy. Mike and his crew remodeled our kitchen. It wasn't one of those pansy new countertops/cabinets and done remodels. It was a rebuild-a-third-of-your-house kind of remodel. We ripped everything out of the kitchen, down to the bare studs. We removed a couple structural walls and made the associated structural modifications. We closed some windows and moved a door. Moved plumbing and gas lines? Yup. Entirely new electrical? Yeah, we did that. New, shiny, smooth walls? Check. New cabinets. New countertops. New flooring. Tile backsplash. New appliances installed. Kitchens have everything, and Mike crushed it all. He finished a month ahead of schedule, and we were thrilled with the results. Mike is a veritable geyser of ideas. He's got ideas and opinions he can share with you, if you're interested. He's very experienced and can point out things you might not have considered or known about. And at the end of the day, he'll build what you want, not what he wants. He won't pressure you to do it his way; he's not pushy. He listens to what you have to say. Mike himself is very detail oriented. He visited the job site every day and if he saw something that he thought looked off, he'd get it fixed. Likewise, if we saw something we were concerned about, we'd talk to Mike and it'd either be fixed pronto, or he'd explain why we shouldn't be concerned. There was no problem touching up small details. The quality of the finished product was awesome; my wife has an eye for small details, comparable to Mike's. Mike is also an excellent project manager. He'll tell you about what decisions you need to make by when, and he'll keep reminding you about them until you make them. He kept everything on schedule. He's a great buffer between you and the workers so you don't have a continuous stream of questions in Spanglish coming your way. Mike's crew is extremely professional, hardworking and competent. They were there every day, on time, working their ass off. Their work passed all of the city's inspections the first time, except for a very minor plumbing issue that took someone an hour or two to fix. Overall, Mike and his crew produced high quality results ahead of schedule with a minimal amount of stress on our end. He is trustworthy, honest and a good problem solver. Over the weekend I called their offices as well as leaving a message through the website requesting a quote for some kitchen remodeling. They never got back to me so three days later I wrote another message through Yelp since they had so many good reviews and we really wanted to get in touch. Got back a curt message saying that they wouldn't touch any projects that sounded like they were less than $12,000. If we had that much then yes, they'd "love to come out and give us an estimate." I guess only rich people deserve kitchens. You should write that big and bold on your website before the average-income everyman even tries to get your attention. Not even a little help with recommendations for smaller-project contractors. They were basically going to ignore me because I didn't have enough money. You certainly do not "do it all." Update: Still one star. After ignoring my attempts to contact them for business, the owner called me to tell me to take my one star review down. Then, he emailed me telling me to take it down again. So, he ignored me until he saw that I had written my honest experience and tried to get me remove the review. read more

We had a lot of work done to update our 1930s home. We added a bathroom, remodeled our kitchen and existing bathroom, replaced the plumbing and electrical (it was getting scary), replaced the windows and floors, and painted inside and out. I'm probably forgetting a few things, but it was an extensive remodel. Needless to say it was expensive, and the work took a few months to complete. That said, we were involved every step of the way. The work moved fast and the results are stunning. Mike was always in contact, stopping by frequently to check on the progress and make sure we were happy. In fact, months after the job is over he is still available to help if we have questions or concerns, and sometimes just to say hi (we love Mike). If I have one complaint, it's that the painters could have done a little more prep work. Unfortunately, because our home is so old, there are a lot of flaws in the molding and walls. It needed a little more TLC in some places. However, they did manage to disappear the stubborn crack in the office ceiling. read more

Great general contractor! I don't believe in taking the lowest offer since you get what you paid for. Four seasons builders wasn't the lowest offer but not the highest one and they sounded very professional and patient to me not knowing anything about construction or remodeling. I wanted to remodel my bathroom. I'm sure it's not the hardest job to do so I gave the boot to all those contractors who started telling me how hard this work is and that's why it will cost so much - and I'm glad I did it. The whole experience with four seasons builders was great - they were always on time, very clean job with no headaches on my side, the owner constantly checked the progress and wanted to know if I'm happy with the job and progress. Before the work began I was ready for a disaster, I heard so many stories about how contractors break stuff, never finish their job on time, how they make you pay double and all sorts of horror stories you can read online, but I was very surprised when they finished the job exactly on the date agreed before starting and for the amount they initially quoted me. We felt confident enough in his work to hire him for our "down the line" dream project, taking over an extra bedroom and making a huge master bathroom and dressing room. It's been almost a year since Mike with Four Seasons Builders finished our kitchen and dining room remodel and it's time to post a review here - my husband posted a review last year shortly after the project was done, but now that we've had time to live in the space we wanted to share how it turned out. Back in Feb/March 2015 after interviewing 5 different contractors we chose Mike to handle our project. Mike didn't have the lowest or the highest bid, but we chose him because he was committed to helping us achieve our vision without breaking our budget. We loved the reviews we had read online, we spoke with a couple of his past clients, and after a few in-person meetings with him we were ready to move forward. Mike brought in professionals to help us choose the final layout and cabinet arrangement, he had his engineer draw the plans, he dealt with the city to pull permits for all phases of the project, and was there with us every step of the way. Our job was complicated and we're picky customers and he did a great job working with us. We flipped the location of our kitchen with our dining room and opened up an 8' span between the new dining room and the living room, then we closed up old windows to accommodate the new kitchen location and put in new French doors in the new dining room location. There was a lot going on in a relatively small space because we didn't expand the footprint of the house. No job is perfect - there's always a hiccup when you encounter the unexpected - but Mike and his team were always quick to find solutions to the issues that came up - like when we discovered the original 1940's footer under our interior load bearing wall was actually several feet off and wasn't supporting the wall at all! Mike's team installed a new footer for us in the correct location so we could open up that load bearing wall and have the open floor plan we had been wanting. Overall, we had an awesome experience with Mike and his team.
