Excited to see more bubble tea stores opening up in the area! I would say that this store is quite small, only meant for takeout and a quick grab and go -- the menu is limited without as much variety as other i'Milky stores I've been to. Workers were overall nice (none of the workers were Asian which was interesting, as a Taiwan chain but that's fine), and service was quick. Expect inflated prices and a small menu. My partner and I ordered a taro milk drink which came out to $7~8 dollars. The taste wasn't so great that it would be worth that price, and Chinatown's location is maybe a little cheaper for more options and a nicer vibe in the store with places to sit and eat. For convenience and location, once in a while, I'd see people coming here to splurge on a drink.

A Chelsea Market staple!…read more I came to NYC in 2021 and tried this place for the first time all those years ago. I'm happy to report that it was even better than I remembered! Very Fresh Noodles specializes in biangbiang (hand pulled) noodles. We got the Tingly & Spicy Cumin Lamb (Dry). It featured their signature biangbiang noodles seasoned with cumin, peppercorn, and their housemade chili oil. It's served with celery, cabbage, and tonsss of cilantro. SO GOOD! It was slurped up in minutes. The spice is mala spice, so it's a little numbing, tingly, and hurts just a bit in the best way. It definitely grows, so have a beverage on hand. The chewy noodles, spicy seasonings, and tender lamb made this dish unforgettable. Pro-tip: You can get it either dry (tossed in the sauce) or soupy!

I ordered the beef dry noodles. Their signature noodles are nice, thick, and chewy. They cooled off fairly quickly, but the center was still warm. Oily as expected but not overly so. It was definitely on the salty side. Just a little spicy but even a wimp like me was okay with it. Flavor wise, it was solid and good but nothing super unique or that I'd go out of the way for (for the dry noodles). Happy I tried it and it was tasty, but I wouldn't go out of my way to return or highly recommend friends to try them out. It's pretty pricey for a plate or bowl, but it was a big portion (and I eat a lot!). There's tons of protein, like there was almost an endless hill of beef for me. Not really much service besides taking the order and they seemed busy through lunch and the early afternoon. There's limited bar seating at the storefront or tables near the windows, but you can take your plate and walk to the basement floor for quieter seating too!

They're always rolling out special items and you can truly taste the heart and soul in everything they make. A very homey and welcoming neighborhood gem. *Taiwanese Fried Chicken Bagel $10 *** If you love basil, you'll be happy to know they use fresh basil to make the spread. I happily devoured it and immediately craved more. Unfortunately it's a limited item, so be sure to check their ig stories or dm them to find out the next available date. *Prosciutto Youtiao Sandwich $15 * Crispy youtiao with prosciutto, burrata and pineapple jam. This unexpected combo actually works so well! *Taro French Toast with Boba $16.5 ** If this is your first time here, ORDER THE FRENCH TOAST. I literally get it every time--the milk tea French toast is perfectly brûléed and topped with taro paste, boba, whipped cream, and salted egg yolk bits. All my favorites in one bite. *Taiwanese Braised Pork Belly $16 * Fatty and full of gelatin, giving that sticky-lips feeling after eating it. I love that their lu rou fan comes with a soft-boiled ramen egg instead of a hard boiled one, and the pickled mustard greens on the side are my favorite part. *Taiwanese Milk Crumb Toast $5 New item! We tried this test version of 奶酥吐司, and it was lowkey addictive. The bread pulled apart just like shokupan. So soft and fluffy.

On the plus side, the hospitality is top-notch; we loved the complimentary Taiwanese kimchi and dessert, and the portion sizes are generous Pork Belly over Rice (4.25/5): The standout! It was packed with flavor, though on the oily side Soft Shell Crab (3.5/5): The crab was well-prepared, but the avocado pairing muted the flavor, making it a bit bland Taiwanese Fried Chicken over Rice (3/5): This was surprisingly sweet for a savory entree, which others may like that Century Old Egg Tofu (2/5): A miss for me, it was served cold and the sauce pairing didn't really work Great service and a lovely vibe overall

It's been weeks and I'm still thinking about the broth. It had levels of complexity and paired up with fresh noodles and tender beef that melted in your mouth, yeah, there's a reason I'm still thinking about it! I went with a friend who had never had Taiwanese food and I'm a bit sad that 886 was the first experience for her because other places after this are going to be a let down. We split the beef noodle soup, Taiwanese fried chicken and scallion pancake beef wrap. The chicken was also perfection served with an in house honey chili crisp sauce. The scallion pancake beef wrap was good but in a purist who likes scallion pancake on its own. Even though it's easy village and not Chinatown, visit this place, it is worth the visit!!! I can't wait to visit their sister restaurant in Brooklyn one day! 谢谢!

I paid extra for more meat, which was a solid choice. it did not, however, make up for the lack of flavor. chew of the noodles was great, though. the only decent item my friend and I had here was the popcorn chicken. super fresh, steaming hot, crispy, and loads of flavor. I would come back here again just for that. ambiance is nice -- solid lighting and fun art around. tables are inches apart so you will definitely hear and be sat right next to others. workers were slightly rude, the restaurant seems to be run by girls in their early 20s/teens. I'm sure the food is more authentic and service is more quality elsewhere.

I was sad to see the Manhattan location close down but was thankful there is one in Jersey City!…read more This has become a semi regular spot of mine when I'm in the mood for a dessert.  I often go with a friend and we'll have dessert dates here.  Our favorites include the tofu pudding series or the grass jelly signature series.  During the summer my current favorite is the Icy Grass Jelly Signature C but I've had the hot version on a cooler day.  The hot grass jelly doesn't have as much structure so the cold version is definitely better. The portion size is solid and it really hits the spot!  You have the option to build your own if you don't like the preset options which is great.  When taro is included in the dessert, while good, it's a huge chunk so after I tried it, I usually opt out now since it's not super digestible and is a bit dry (I appreciate the generosity/amount though). This is a fast casual spot so interactions with staff are usually minimal and you can place orders on one of their two kiosks (or directly with a person at the front).  Other items of note, the loyalty program wasn't super straightforward to sign up for and you couldn't do it right away from the kiosk.  It requires you to download the app and sign up before you could get any benefits so that was slightly frustrating since you'd miss out if you didn't have time to do that immediately. I usually go to Meet Fresh for their desserts though I have also tried their drinks.  Some of their specialty drinks are nice (I tried a grass jelly slushie that was seasonal at the time and I enjoyed that a lot) but their other regular bubble tea drinks aren't particularly standout (though they are expensive). Seating is also more limited now than it used to be since the space is shared with another store that sells Chinese smoked meats and cold appetizers.  I'm still a huge fan of theirs and will continue to frequent their location.  They make desserts well so give them a try if you're in the area!
