We were craving some coffee and spotted this place right across from Wonder Bagel, so we decided to give it a try. There's a few sitting but not a lot. I forgot exactly what we ordered, but one of them was a matcha -- and both drinks were delicious! A little on the pricey side, but maybe that's just standard for the area (we're out-of-towners). Definitely worth stopping by for a quick and tasty coffee break!

Any fellow coffee lover will adore this spot. The barista was so pleasant and she made all our drinks fast and delicious. The place has the downtown jersey city vibe to it. Artwork dotted along the walls and enough space for you to work on your laptop and snazzy music. The menu is basic but surprisingly delicious with what they offer. We got the regular size cups and I ordered the Pink Lady and the strawberry with the coffee was 10/10 for me and it didn't hurt my stomach cause they used the lactose milk. Total for my drink was $7. Decent price for the size and the location so not too much to complain about. If you're in the area stop by and have a shot

Great cappuccino. Clean space, calm vibe. Loved it. Will definitely return again & I recommend!

I love Sober Shot's Matcha drinks! The atmosphere is great and they sometimes play jazz. The baristas are vert fast and nice. Only down side I'd say is that you have to pay for no Ice, especially in the cold weather.

Love Sober Shot! I stopped in to grab some coffee during my break. I ordered a latte with oat milk and it was just what I needed on a rainy day. Loved the jazz music playing in the background as I waited for my order. Great friendly service. I shared that I was a new customer and was given a thorough rundown of the menu options which I greatly appreciated. Definitely will be back soon!

Never had a bad drink or service here! Service is always super friendly and drinks hit the spot. Love matcha and the spin they take on it with so many different varieties. A must try! Yes, it's expensive but what isn't in Downtown Jersey City anymore lol at least the specialty drinks are worth it!

Sober Shot is a treat! I come to Jersey City to visit one of my friends a few times a year, and I always like to stop in. My favorite drink is their iced coffee with the strawberry foam! I've never had a coffee with strawberry foam before and it is genuinely one of my favorite things I've ever had. I do wish they offered smaller sizes though. The drink is really really big, and is a bit pricey too- 2 iced coffees were $15.

I came by Sober Shot on a Saturday afternoon and they weren't busy. The cafe has some seating area where I saw people doing work. The place has great vibes and I would love to come do work/study here in the future! I got the Pink Lady which tasted absolutely amazing! It was strawberry milk foam with coffee! I definitely recommend! I would come back to try their other drinks and the custard eggs which I heard are very good!

Um hello amazing coffee shop with an amazing name and amazing prices!!! I got an iced soy latte and it was easily $2 cheaper than most places, not to mention it tasted fantastic. The cups are so cool too, for those who recycle you can definitely get a few good uses out of it. Great service too, will be back 100%!

Really underwhelming. We didn't like the sweet cream foam AT ALL. We actually poured out the top foam in the street trash can. It's incredibly sweet and the texture is thick. Maybe this place is for people with a higher sugar tolerance (though I have a major sweet tooth), but I was disappointed to pay a premium price for such awful coffee

This was a fun place to check out in Jersey City. They definitely have unique options, between the sparkling drinks and the butterfly pea. One thing I appreciated was that almond and soy milk are free (oat was extra). We got the Not So Sober (americano with white foam) and the Blue Monday (latte plus butterfly pea). The drinks are definitely aesthetically pleasing and decent. The Not So Sober definitely turned out to be sweeter than expected. I'd probably go again to try a matcha drink or to have a fun drink again, but this wouldn't be my go to or everyday coffee shop.

Cute place for unique coffees! I ordered the sober shot which was carbonated espresso with cream on ice! Honestly was very good, different and I loved the fizz. They have a lot of different options for coffee and matcha lattes that are all aesthetically pleasing. I give a 3 star however due to the wait and questionable cleanliness. There was only 2 other people when I went yet the barista was very slow and unfocused. I waited about 15 minutes for my one order. While he was making it I also noticed him touch several things in between including the trash and recycling bin without washing hands. Maybe it's just this one barista but it did not sit well with me.

    Work getting done. Peaceful environment.

Delicious!! Great service with a smile and a fully knowledgeable Barista. I'm new in the area will definitely be returning. The inside is very peaceful with meditative tunes.

It was a little annoying that they had already run out of party trays and so I had to settle for getting 2 pints instead. The regular banana pudding is also really really good. Overall, I also really like the aesthetic of this place, you could totally sit here and enjoy your dessert. Instead of a Francophone ice cream truck driver, in real life this neighborhood hosts Baonanas, a banana pudding shop which serves a wide variety of flavors in the fashion of an ice cream parlor. I appreciate that Baonanas is rooted in the surrounding long-standing Filipino community of McGinley Square. The two natural orders on a first visit were of course the classic and the ube, both of which were delicious. The ube flavor was subtle and not overpowering at all. And obviously, it's better than Magnolia's.

Holding it or tasting it gives a substantial, high-quality feel. However, the consequence is that even the staff struggles to scoop it out with their spherical ice cream scoops, let alone the disposable plastic spoons provided to customers. Green Tea: The highest praise Chinese people can give for desserts--not sweet--and it truly tastes like green tea, not matcha. The refreshing bitterness was incredibly pure, even bordering on slightly bitter, which is extremely rare in the US. Vanilla Peanut Butter: Very milky, but extremely salty, like eating peanut butter spread on bread. The vanilla flavor was almost completely masked. Coconut & Cream: I've always trusted American coconut ice cream, but this time it was a bit of a disappointment. The cream completely overshadowed the coconut, so much so that it took me a long time to recall what flavor I actually ordered. Ube: One bite brought back childhood memories, exactly the same as the ube flavor Wuyang五羊 ice cream cone. It was so touching I didn't order this in the end since I want to try more flavors as possible. I don't know why, but ube flavor seems to be gradually fading in China... Blueberry Cheesecake: The initial taste was a rich, sweet cream, with a refreshing hint of blueberry tartness in the aftertaste. It's pretty good, but honestly, it's not particularly outstanding. Banana Peanut Butter Chunk: The staff recommended this signature dish, and it once again made me realize how subjective taste can be... It's on the sweeter and saltier side, with a very strong flavor, but more importantly, it has a noticeable artificial banana flavor.
