We stopped in here on a walk around the neighborhood. It's a tiny coffee shop in a luxury apartment building lobby. We were the only customers on a Saturday around 1:30pm. My boyfriend ordered a small iced coffee. They use an intensive brewing method with filtration into a glass. I am not a coffee drinker so I don't know much about the technology, but it looked fancy. It took a few minutes for the coffee to brew but my boyfriend seemed to enjoy it. They have a very small menu, but also sell tea, water, and t-shirts. They have a small seating area with a few leather chairs by the lobby door. The barista forgot to return my boyfriend's credit card, but she chased after us down the block to make sure he got it back, which was nice of her. read more

I think there is something really special about this seemingly ordinary coffee shop. Hear me out! I've been to this location as well as their Edison location a few times and I've never been met a barista that wasn't kind, helpful and patient. I say patient because they have a pretty spectacular coffee menu, so even for someone like me that usually orders one black coffee, you need a. few minutes. They make suggestions, ask questions to get an idea of your preference and make sure you are getting a coffee that is perfect for you. I've had their CLO latte both hot and iced and it is loaded with flavor (and caffeine). No... seriously... I think it has matcha and a double shot of espresso. You can also get it flavored (I've had coconut) and it is rightly nicknamed "crack" by the team. If you are not afraid of a wake up jolt, get it! It's delicious. All of their coffees are one size which is very new to me, but they do it to ensure the perfect cup of coffee every single time. So, I guess it's working! On my last visit, I couldn't resist a sweet treat, so I tried the lemon poppy seed donut. The barista explained it's vegan and gluten free and more like a cake than donut. It was delicious! I actually loved the cakiness of it. CLO is located in the ground floor of a really beautiful complex and they made the space a place to hang out and relax, get some work done, grab and go, literally whatever. They even have little cubbies if you need a quiet place for an interview or phone call but I do believe you need to reserve those. If you love coffee, I'd make sure to make a trip here. First visited CLO in January to show support for Filipino-owned businesses and I have to say they did an amazing job here. The decor is modern and sleek and the coffee was definitely above average. They have tons of flavors for their lattes when I asked what they had available. I went for the honey lavender that they recommended and it was delicious! While waiting for the coffees to get done though, we got to chat with the staff. Adrian was the barista that day and was quite personable along with the other staff. During our conversation, I was glad to have been enlightened as to how the name of the shop came about. CLO, apparently has two meanings kinda. It was initially thought to be named "Coffee Lovers Only" but being that it sounded a bit exclusive they opted to just use CLO instead; derived from the name of Ralph's (owner) daughter, Chloe. Pretty neat huh? Anyway, place was cool, staff was cool. They know their stuff and they know when to chat and when to let you indulge yourself and enjoy that freshly made coffee. Bonus and a HUGE plus for me is their motto about just Being Kind. Seriously that is the answer and solution to all the chaos in this world and a saying i TRY to live by! I passed by here on my way to the Municipal Court and we ordered the flat white and cappuccino - both 8 oz., and I enjoyed both! Their espresso is very good and the taste was strong and delectable. I have to pass by again sometime this week or next - so expect to see me there again! There hasn't been a crowd the last two times I went which is good for now. The space is pretty and chill. The baristas are very kind. I am docking off two stars because the barista's friend or dunno who the person was didn't have a mask on during our whole stay there.. disappointing. This coffee shop is a great addition to the area. It's cozy and trendy. They have dope music playing in the background and the furniture is inviting. I've gone on my afternoon coffee breaks and I have not seen it packed however I do wish the place was bigger ... you know covid, 6ft and all that. I've only had cappuccinos so far which were made really well and the coffee is tasty. I'm interested in a pour over so I will try that next. They do have pastries as well. This is like a hidden gem in the area, hiding in the quiet side streets away from all the hustle and bustle of the area. Inside design is modern and feels spacious even for a small space. Comfortable seating and overall a very relaxing vibe. Barista was very nice and friendly. She knew her stuff and had plenty of recommendations. I'm so disappointed in this spot. The barista was nice, but gave me the wrong order at first and the second attempt was undrinkable. I tried to reach out to the owners directly for a refund or credit, got a response asking why I didn't like the drink, and heard nothing back after that. I was attempting to do them a courtesy versus leaving a review, but I really dislike their customer service. I can't speak for the whole menu, but avoid the chai latte. It's all syrup. read more

Got there and got to talking with the Barista && owner...believe his name was Ralph ( its probably on a review here but too lazy to back track) anywhoo they were so down to earth... excellent customer service! I can also say that because I've gone back a couple times after and always great customer service! But yelp is also for the review of the things the establishment has to offer...can I say this coffeee is CRAAAAAACCCKK idk if its b/c its made with some TLC but taste just right. I've gotten coffee from Starbucks and some other cafe's and you taste "burned coffee", if that makes sense but NOT at CLO. Also, a nice spot to get some work done. read more
