Cute little bakery in the corner of 2nd street, and washington. Perfect to grab a cup of coffee and little bite for breakfast. Joyce is always so friendly and kind. Very small inside, but they have 2 tables outdoor too. My favorite is zucchini focaccia and fig cantuccci.

Nice place perfectly located in a busy area of Jersey City, parking is easy (at least for me). I loved the coffee I had, I always go for lattes, the staff is super friendly and patience and is also chill and somewhat quiet which I really liked. They don't have much desserts but that's okay, because they have yummy cantuccinis that perfectly pairs with the coffee, delicious Italian biscuits. I some bread with jam and a cantucci, soooo good!!!! Also, please please try their focaccia!! I'll be coming back when I'm back in town, I love it!!

Nestled in a quiet street in Jersey City, Pratos's Bakery is a true gem. From the facade to the decor of the shop, it's like traveling to another place far from the busy sound and bustle of downtown. They're open early so it is perfect for coffee and freshly made breads and sandwiches. Loved their brioche bun with tomato and mozzarella sandwich lightly toasted. Their croissants are crunchy on the outside and soft inside. It crumbles as you bite into them but you wouldn't care because they're just good! Service is quick but you need to make sure you remember what you ordered and carefully wait and listen until you're called to get them in the counter. Clean up after you're done and don't make a mistake of throwing those wooden paddles where they place your sandwiches! Over all Prato can easily be your family's favorite or simply to get your coffee fix and end up happy

Visited Prato for the first time in several years and it's just as good as I remembered. This bakery / sandwich shop reminds me of something that you'd find in Rome. I like a simple sandwich with a few ingredients done well and that's exactly what you'll find at Prato. Perfectly crispy focaccia bread, delicious olive oil, freshly sliced Italian meats and cheeses and veggies. My sandwich had prosciutto, mozzarella and roasted red peppers and it was divine. They have a wide selection of focaccia sandwiches, square pizza slices, sweets and coffee drinks. There is also ample seating if you'd like to sit and relax or get some work done. There is also some outdoor patio seating. Casual coffee shop vibes with fresh and fast Italian eats that are a huge step up from the typical fare that you'd find at a coffee shop. I wish we had something like this in Morristown!

Ventured into jersey city the other day and I stumbled upon this cute little bakery. It was also one of the few places open on a early Sunday morning. Grabbed a small latte, which was okay. They had a large selection of pizza, breads, sandwiches and baked good. I ended up getting the chocolate croissant and the gluten free cookie. The croissant had the perfect spread of chocolate , it was nice and flaky as well. The cookies reminded me of a French macaroon without the filling. Would definitely stop by again to try some of the other items.

My bf took me to Prato bakery for breakfast. He found this place on Yelp searching for a porchetta sandwich . Initially I was excited about Prato bakery because it reminded me of a cute cafe/sandwich shop in Italy. The employees were very informative, attentive and never felt rushed. We ordered coffee, croissant, slice of pizza and a spicy porchetta sandwich. Both our coffees was served luke warm which was huge letdown! The croissant served was fine. The pizza was your typical bakery pizza which was good not phenomenal. The porchetta sandwich was decent but not the best I've ever had. It wasn't spicy as advertised. I am not interested in trying Prato Bakery again. There are other authentic Italian cafes around that just don't look the part but are actually delicious.

We frequent here about every month or so and always get a couple caffeinated drinks and 1 lb. Of cantuccis. Yesterday we decided to get breakfast. We ordered our usual caffeine drinks. I believe I got the portefino? I believe it's a seasonal sandwich. It come with Buffalo cheese, pesto, tomato and I forgot what else and requested for it to be toasted which takes about 5 or more minutes. Man, I indulged that but I stomach didn't like it . There was way too much olive oil in the salami sandwich. We always enjoy their biscuits and snacks. We agreed that we share a sandwich together from this place from now on coz damn. But you gotta get their cantuccis!!! I enjoy the fig, apricot and chocolate.

This place is a local bakery and is an ok spot to go for some focaccia bread and some coffee on a nice Sunday afternoon. The selection is plentiful and the environment is pretty hip and casual. The prices are ok but I feel like things have gone up a bit over the past few months. The bread itself could have been a little better since it was a little stale when I bit down on it and every subsequent bite afterwards. The flavor itself was good but I was just offset by the quality of the bread. I also ordered an iced latte and it seemed like more of an iced coffee since it wasn't as strong as a typical latte is. Overall the food could have been better but maybe it's better earlier on in the morning. Regardless, this is still a nice place to hang out for a casual get-together.

I love Prato bakery. I wish it was closer to me so that I could go every week ( I want to say everyday but neither my wallet nor my belly could handle it) There are so many delicious things to eat here, where do I start? They have many delicious breads here, they have italian biscotti's, they have pizza, they have cornetto's, they have italian meats, they have italian nutella, everything is fresh and made everyday here. You really just can't go wrong. It's a great place to come grab a bite and hang out with your friends.

    Elisa H.

The tiny cantuccis (biscottis) in fig and almond were delicious. We need a dozen of these with hot coffee. The pizza bread is yummy.

So cute so cozy! My boyfriend brought me here for a little birthday lunch. Always pass by but never tried. So glad I did! Everything came out pretty fast. No complaints there. Food is amazing. Ordered the Manhattan sandwich and got a hot chocolate. Their hot chocolate is definitely not like any other. Actually taste like REAL chocolate, compared to just powdered chalky flavors from other places. For sure will be coming back, it's really relaxing.

Bombolone with Nutella - $2.50 (available on Sundays at 11A only!)
    Elaine W.

Prato is a staple bakery in JC. They have quite a selection of bakery items, including focaccia sandwiches, croissant, croissant sandwiches, brioche sandwiches, and more. My personal favorite focaccia sandwich is the Manhattan, which comes with prosciutto, tomato, and mozzarella. It's the perfect savory combination! And a newfound discovery for me is that at 11AM on Sundays, they offer homemade sugar donuts (some with Nutella filling if you like - AND I DO LIKE!!), which ends around 2PM or earlier if they sell out. So make sure you try to get there early to ensure you get one! Prato is a very quick walk from the major downtown area, but it's still close enough to walk for a snack and some coffee. I highly recommend making the walk over!

    Yummy!

I walked from Jersey City Heights down to downtown -- not a bad walk at all, un chin de cardio before breakfast . Real "treat yourself, mi amor" type of morning. Soon as I walked in... I told them it was my first time and asked what they're known for, and they really put me on No gatekeeping over here. Also... let me tell you about the BACK They got frozen pastas, little Napoli-style dishes, a whole meat section that looked crazy fresh, and you can order cold sandwiches too. Esto no es solo un deli -- it's a whole Italian experience, okurrr. And yes... it's a *little* pricey, no te voy a mentir. Pero honestly? You get what you pay for. Calidad, sabor, vibes -- todo está ahí. I skipped the coffee porque estoy tratando de behave con el budget but next time? And I'm coming back for that banana pudding porque I'm obsessed no shame. They got a little patio if you wanna sit, or you can take your food to the park and have a whole picnic moment. Real main character energy. Ponte linda, grab your sandwich, and just vibe out.
