I've had their lox toast, iced coffee, sausage, egg, and cheese bagel, and breakfast burritos, overall all good items. They have a variety of lunch options such as Bulgogi that I wanted to try so I finally gave them a go for lunch. Disappointed with the soy garlic chicken. The issue was the crispiness, even though they look crispyish in the picture. Looking at them I could tell they might be mushy. When I bit into them with each bite, I could taste mush of the breading. I couldn't tell if I was chewing breading or fat. The texture unfortunately ruined it for me. The breading also feels a little moist. There was some condensation inside the container from the heat after the food was placed in it, which didn't help. The fries were decent, could have been a little crispier, again the container didn't help. read more

Placed an order for a turkey , egg, cheese on a wrap long with an iced latte. Unfortunately i never received the sandwich instead i was sent a sandwich on a brioche roll with eggs, potatoes, pico de gallo , onions and guacamole. Not only did i not order that, it was literally disgusting and sloppy. Would never order from here again. When calling to get this fixed they recommended I place another order so they can fix it and refund me after. No thanks! I rarely review a place from only a delivery order but in this case I had to. Breakfast & lunch place. Kitchen closes at 330pm; store either 4-5pm. Menu full of great choices, including vegan & healthier options. Also a few Korean dishes ( bulgogi, bibimbop etc.) Top quality ingredients prepared perfectly. Although your portions may be smaller than a typical diner the value is there and these are good enough ( healthy) portions. --The "ake your own omelet" was great with sourdough toast. Very spacious open new york style Cafe in downtown area of jersey city. It's clean and open inside with plenty of seating. The prices are decent given the area and the staff is pleasant . There's wife and bathrooms and handicap accessible I ordered the iced pumpkin spice latte and it was 5/5 very delicious and tasty. For food I got the breakfast burrito and meh wasn't to impressed. The ratio of potato to guac, sour cream and eggs is completely off with little to no flavor. There was so much potato in it every bite was potato lol would not recommend if you don't love potatoes like that. I've been to this place several times during my short stay in the neighborhood. The only constructive feedback I have would be to pay more attention to how takeouts are packed, especially if there's sauce involved because the sauce in my bao leaked through the cracks of the container and got all over my paper bag. This wouldn't have happened if the container was packed vertically instead of horizontally in the bag. I've been wanting to try this place since my apartment is across the street. I ordered the bulgogi rice bowl and a large iced matcha latte. The bowl was pretty good and there was a good amount of bulgogi on it. The matcha latte wasn't as sweet as I'm used to but I added a little sugar and it was great. Pricing was on pat and the staff were really friendly. I'm looking forward to coming here more instead of driving to Dunkin or Starbucks. read more

My boyfriend and I have been anxiously waiting for the opening of Cafe Lafayette and every time I stay over we would walk past to see when the brown paper in the windows would be gone. So I'm happy to say that they just had their soft opening this past week and so far it's delicious with really friendly staff. Right now for soft opening they're open 8-4 but I'm guessing that will change. The menu boasts handcrafted signature coffee blend, Cafe Lafayette, with a variety of milk choices to fit different diets. The food options are heavy on breakfasts with a large selection of egg sandwiches, open face toasts, fresh smoothies, pastries, and omelets. But they also have sandwiches, salads, and some signature items with rice bowls and tacos. There is definitely a nod to Korean/Asian fare with bulgogi tacos, Asian noodle soups, fried dumplings, and even bibimbap! We had the chicken teriyaki rice bowl and the bulgogi beef bowl. Both were bursting with flavor and large portioned. I also had an oat milk latte which was was great. One minor issue was they came with white rice when it said brown but it was so tasty we didn't care. There's also a small selection of to go snacks like chips and bottled tea/juice. The food is consistently good. I don't like that they start cleaning at like 3:15 even though they close at 4, because you can't really eat when everything smells like cleaning chemicals, and it makes you feel unwelcome. Also I don't know if it's just me but all the workers seem incredibly stressed out. They are nice but they seem like they're seconds away from a mental breakdown at all times. Pumpkin spice Cappuccinos are good but nothing to rave about. Teriyaki bowl was just ok, not a lot of meat and mediocre flavor. Would try the bulgogi bowl to compare but chicken teriyaki wasn't as good as folks gas it up to be. Teri Teri in Union City has amazing chicken teriyaki and is only about a 10-15 min ride. They get points for convenience because these condo buildings don't really have many close options but food was just ok. More flavor and meat would be great. read more

I'd been once before when the cafe graciously hosted an adoption event outside the shop for the local animal shelter and I was happy to return the other weekend when I found myself in the area. I've tried 3 different items on their menu and I enjoyed the first two. I wasn't a fan of the 3rd item, it wasn't what I was expecting. They are on the pricer end and some are worth it but others I am questioning them. They don't have a physical menu just one in the shop and the ones posted here by another Yelper and on Google. They use Instagram but aren't keeping up with it. In the beginning they would share what the special of the day were but you have to go to the shop to see what they are. I'll still go back because there are other items I would like to try hopefully they are tasty and worth the price. read more

Ordered a taylor ham egg and cheese wrap (which btw not many places in JC make these). The eggs were so fluffy, it was amazing. Also got the lafayette breakfast wrap with mikes hot honey. SO GOOD.
