Eggs Up is one of those places that just makes your day better without trying too hard. It's right downstairs from me, which is already a win, but honestly I'd go out of my way for it anyway. The food hits every time, the coffee is legit, actually good, and the vibe is exactly what you want in the morning. You've got neighbors catching up, regulars posted up, and a mix of people coming through, from police and transit folks to construction crews, and everyone gets the same warm, friendly treatment. Marina is awesome, and the whole team just gets it. There's a genuine, easygoing energy where you can grab your food and go or hang for a bit and chat. It never feels rushed and never feels forced. I've never been inside this establishment, but I've ordered through delivery services a few times. One of my favorite things about this place is they are CONSISTENT! I get the same two sandwiches generally, the LSP and the big Johnson (with turkey sausage instead of bacon). I fell in love with the pastrami in the LSP, it's just a really good rounded sandwich. Perfect egg on top with the yolk running (if you like that), arugula, chipotle mayo, and a good amount of pastrami. It's a well rounded sandwich and I am a huge fan! Love the pretzel bun on the big Johnson, but I think the LSP has way more flavor. Since I like the pastrami so much, last week I ordered the hot pastrami sandwich and it was okay, not bad, but the balanced flavors in the LSP make that sandwich top tier! Wouldn't get the hot pastrami again. I ordered a cold brew with a splash of half/half and vanilla syrup and it was good! I am not usually a fan of cold brew at all, but it was so good I ordered it back to back AND made sure to get ingredients to attempt to make it at home this week (didn't quite work) so I guess I'll be making an order soon. We had just landed from a red-eye flight, and our youngest was definitely not having it. The owner was incredibly kind, helped calm him down, and even got our orders in quickly so we could settle in. The food and coffee were both excellent, and every staff member we interacted with was so warm and welcoming. Such a great experience after a long night of travel. Highly recommend! read more

Service: The guy at the counter was really nice and answered our questions on what's popular, his favorite and how he likes to eat it (dip chicken parm with chipotle mayo). He was nice to give us the sauce on the side to try it out. You order at the counter, then you sit down where you would like and they will bring the food to you when ready. They also bring you water. Food: We ordered the GDG and Chicken Parm sandwich. I was pleasantly surprised as the sandwiches we got were actually quite big (good amount of filling and good height of sandwich). The chicken Parm had 2 layers of chicken. The chicken cutlets were crispy even with the sauce. I think providing a side of marinara sauce on the side would make it much better for the customer to dip any dry parts on the outside. The GDG had double layers of sausage and egg. The hashbrown in the sandwich was still crispy and the roll was nice and soft. The sandwiches are definitely filling. We also ordered a lavender latte. If you don't like the lavender leaves sprinkled on top, then you don't have to worry because they don't include that in the drink. The latte was pretty much an ice coffee with lavender flavor as an aftertaste/hint at the end. Not super strong. Ambience: We came on a Sunday an hour before they were about to close. Place is small but quiet when we went as it was the middle of the day between lunch and dinner. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and would come again to try their other menu items. Stopped in today for lunch, heard some good things about the breakfast menu.. it's was lunch so I ordered the pastrami. Staff was friendly, place was very clean. You can see the grill from the register, so watched my food prepared. Sandwich was a little greasy but it is pastrami, not too pricy. I'll go back again read more

I accidentally stumbled upon this place. I was heading to brunch in Hoboken, but the Jersey City marathon (trying to copy NYC much?), blocked all public transportation. So, with plans canceled and hunger creeping in, I walked into Eggs Up...expecting a bodega kinda fare. Eggs Up is not a bodega or convenience store, it is a diner, without the grease and stickiness of a diner. The interior is luminous and calming. You may also bring your laptop. Pets are allowed in, in case you must pick up an order. I ordered the cheese bacon burger with French fries and match latte. The French fries were very good. Not mushy. Crispyness properly seasoned with salt. The burger comes with American cheese. I'm not a fan of American cheese, but the bacon and the tomatoes made up for it. Solid patty too; although I ordered well done, it was still juicy and not dry like a shoe sole. The matcha latte was not sweet. Just pleasant...no bitterness no overly sweet. I love that you have all of the condiments you need right at the table. I am a sucker for hot sauce and it was there by me; I didn't have to ask for it. You have the choice between the spicy mustard and the honey mustard. Just ask for it. Solid place if you live near by (i don't...it was an accident). The employee/ Service was friendly and accommodating. I was hoping for a better experience foods wise. Unfortunately, the food was overly cooked. Eggs were supposed to be over easy but was not. Awful delivery experience. I waited over an hour before calling the store. After 5 minutes on hold, I hung up and called again. They forgot I was on hold... They weren't helpful in providing an ETA or apologetic that my order was taking so long. They offered no refunds or courtesy whatsoever. Amazing service and amazing food. Marina is the best. She treated our children like they were her own. They are incredibly warm and caring. We were able to try the dulce de leche made in house before deciding on the latte. The breakfast burrito is the best in JC (aside from their parent restaurant, Buddy's). $4.60 for a large cup of coffee to go. that includes the $1 for a splash of milk. A cup of coffee shouldn't cost almost 5 dollars. The price structure should be revised. A dollar for adding milk to coffee seems unreasonable. read more
