I went to Alessio's cafe with my sister and nephew for a walk and to pick up a tasty treat. I ordered myself an iced latte and a croissant to share with my sister. The service was good, it was a pretty busy time when we went but overall the service was still good. My nephew ordered a cheesecake and a lemonade and he enjoyed both and was happy enjoying himself a tasty treat after walking for quite a bit. We waited a little bit but no big deal we understood that it was busy during prime breakfast time. The ambiance is chill and calm. Great small coffee shop in Jersey City. 10/10 recommendation.

I love this place, the people are kind and easy to talk to, the food is great, and the atmosphere is a nice place to relax & eat. I love that they serve breakfast all day, and have a very vast and creative menu for breakfast, lunch & dinner.

I wasn't expecting this little sandwich shop when we walked by, but when I saw the menu from the outside I couldn't resist stopping in. They have a very fun breakfast sanding menu - a lot of different aioli options, like cilantro aioli, chipotle aioli (I love aioli) and a plethora of breakfast sandwiches, much more than the typical. We chose the Hoboken Girl that had avocado, cheddar, egg, hash brown, and cilantro aioli. It was a massive sandwich and about $15. We shared it and I'm glad we did. We sat outside and had our dog with us - when they realized they brought him a little pup cup. So sweet!

The OG Hoboboken Alessio's was always such a great stop when I found myself in the area. And their little kiosk style addition to Pier A made that little park sooooo much better! Seriously, the only thing that could make sitting out by the water on a sunny weekend day is gelato or iced coffee. But now, they've made their way to The Heights! The new shop has a few tables inside and two outside. They are right on Franklin and I'm happy to report they are just as cute as their original. I stopped by on a walk with my pup (who was also welcomed in) and resisted all of the baked treats and pizzas and got myself an oat milk latte. Delicioso! This review is currently just for the coffee but the full menu looked great so I cannot wait to stop by for breakfast or lunch soon. They also let me know that they plan to bring gelato to this location too, so you know I will be a regular. Welcome to The Heights!

I come here more often then i'd like to admit; it is my new weekend go to for breakfast. I like the omelettes (great breakfast potatoes) and the egg sandwiches the best. I thought the avocado toast was a little on the small size and i wouldnt order it again. I like the fries. I haven't tried the pizza or pasta yet. Their panini are only okay in my opinion, need to be toasted and pressed more. Good coffee options and they have pastries too which I have yet to try. The neighborhood need a spot like Alessio's, because while there are a few nearby similar options (Choco Pain, Froth on Franklin), you can't pick-up with your dog which is a big obstacle for me. I also like that you can order from their website.

This is a local cafe with locations in The heights JC and Hoboken. I decided to try out their iced coffee and pistachio croissant, the servers are friendly and the atmosphere is good but the place is small overall. Coming to the food, the iced coffee was well.. just iced coffee. Actually I thought that it would be a latte but instead it turned out to be black coffee! The pistachio croissant was okay, the flakiness was good but the cream could have been better. Overall a decent experience.

Had 2 BLT evolutions, 2 coffees, an egg & cheese and a bottle of water. 40 bucks, didn't think that was too outrageous (to each their own though, could see that being alittle pricey). All three were bread heavy, the BLTs had a single strip of bacon (wtf?) Might give them a shot again but not in the near future, wouldn't recommend outside of the coffee. Nice decor and workers but portions need to be reviewed for sure.

Chicken Caesar salad

I've been here a couple times and always have good food. This time I got the chicken Caesar salad and the vesuvio panini. The salad came with the dressing on the side so it wouldnt get soggy which is appreciated. The panini was supposed to have prosciutto on it but it was forgotten. The biggest gripe on this place is the price. $16 for a panini with no sides is a little steep and then when it is missing some of the ingredients it makes it worse unfortunately. A place I will stop in every so often but not somewhere I come all the time

Empty bag.

No real words. I was delivered an empty bag. It was still sealed and stabled so clearly prepared empty by the restaurant. Just to steal money without doing work or wasting food to give to customers.

I have to come here more often. This is maybe 3rd or 4th time and each time has been an absolute hit. We've had breakfast sandwiches and coffee before, and today we tried the lunch. Wow just wow - these sandwiches were sooo delicious. Everything about them was great .... Fresh ingredients, great bread ...and the mozzarella was fresh & melted, YUM! Friendly service & great ambiance. So happy with this addition to The Heights!! Keep up the great work guys, thank you.

Hilarious

This is a grilled cheese for $12. Does that look right to you? Feels like I was robbed at gunpoint in broad daylight.

Please move your large unnecessary signage and bikes so kids can walk on the sidewalk. Oh yeah... food is overpriced.

They also had throwback alt rock playing both days, which I absolutely vibed with! The first day I had a simple but well done egg and cheese sandwich with an apple turnover! Prices are quite reasonable. The sandwich was only 6 or 7 dollars! On my second morning, I noticed their menu had changed, and I ordered Gruyère omelet of sorts with potatoes in it. Again, very lovely! Happy to have stumbled upon this welcoming place.

First off, the interior and attention to detail is so cute and aesthetically pleasing. Ambiance was so relaxing and just my vibe. I got the watermelon and mint juice, huevos rancheros, polenta fries, and mango pistachio Brulé French toast. Everything was 10/10! Watermelon and mint juice - so refreshing, great way to start off the morning. I just added a small lemon slice to add a bit of brightness to the drink, but great as is. Huevos rancheros - the corn tortilla was super crispy. Everything blended beautifully. We did ask for hot sauce like Tapatio or Cholula, but I guess they don't carry this and gave us more Verde salsa instead. No worries, I think it speaks volume that this place prides itself in giving guests condiments they specially made from scratch! Polenta fries - so crispy so good. Underneath the fries is some sort of sauce with horseradish. It's hard to explain. Just know that this was really good lol. Mango pistachio Brulé French toast - I am more of a savory breakfast type of person but something about this stood out to me so I decided to try it and don't regret it one bit. The mango purée and the French toast was like a perfect blend of something fresh with something super carb heavy. Aesthetically, I haven't seen anything like this, and it was just something beautiful and magically created. There's not many places where I'm just in awe of the food and also not many places where I think the price and the quality of the food matches as well. I am so glad I was able to try out this place and will always look forward to eating here again!

We were greeted warmly by whom I assume is the owner. Since I love pistachio, it was a no brainer for me. As one of my companions is trying to decide, I mumbled under my breath..."the Rose latte is really beautiful." He sighs and says to the barista...okay, I'll have the Rose latte, I'll let her have her picture. I tell the barista that I want it in one of those pretty cup and saucers. I was giddy as a little girl when I got the lattes. Soooo eye-pleasingly beautiful. Most of the Rose latte pics on Yelp has the leaf in white, mine was PINK. I am not a fan of any drinks that taste like a rose. Curious I did take a sip and I was wowed. The rose flavor was very subtle in a wonderful way with the perfect balance of the coffee. I loved my pistachio but decided to switch the rose latte with my companion. It was the best rose lattes I have ever had. They also have homemade treats. Their pistachio baklava is PERFECTION, not too overly sweet. I could eat a dozen of these in one sitting. Limited indoor seating with only 2 tables outside.

Still a fan! They put a lot of effort into their lattes. We've been on a pistachio latte kick and…read morehave been testing them at different coffee spots and cafe vista makes a solid pistachio latte... they even put real pistachios in the latte art!

And obviously so much more!! The service is usually quick service. They do get busy in the mornings when people are picking up breakfast on their way to work. They are also busy on the weekends in the mornings. They have seating and some people do sit down and enjoy their coffee inside but I would say most people take their coffee and breakfast to-go. It is conveniently located in a Spanish neighborhood. 10/10 recommendation

I had a very upsetting experience at this place today…read more I came in with my small elderly dog, who was in a sling and not walking around the restaurant. Instead of treating me respectfully, staff immediately focused on questioning me and demanding "papers" for my service animal in a very aggressive and humiliating way. What made the situation worse was the tone and behavior. I repeatedly tried to explain calmly, but I was spoken to dismissively and made to feel unwelcome in front of other people. I ended up leaving extremely distressed. I know my rights under ADA laws, and businesses should know that employees are not allowed to demand documentation or certification for a service animal. There should be proper staff training on how to handle these situations professionally and respectfully. No customer should be treated this way.

($4.75 for 2eggs, homefries, bacon) Personally, I think it is MUCH higher quality than Rumba's on centeal. They also had empanadas; I had a Colombian beef and chicken, both were great but the salsa on the side wasn't anything special. The coffee was amazing, 100% Colombian! However, with this latest re-branding, they are a warm and inviting place (I'm sure they were before too, I just didn't know!). The espresso is still great, and the pastries are wonderful. In particular, their empanadas are the absolute best in the Heights, and they experiment a little with them. This morning I had my usual Bacon & Egg, and also tried their new Prosciutto and Mozzarella, both were fantastic. Also a fan of their Beef & Sweet Plantain one. Grabbing quick breakfast now on my way to work has become part of my daily routine here and I can't believe I lived next to this place for so long and missed out!
