I was sad to see the Manhattan location close down but was thankful there is one in Jersey City! This has become a semi regular spot of mine when I'm in the mood for a dessert. I often go with a friend and we'll have dessert dates here. Our favorites include the tofu pudding series or the grass jelly signature series. During the summer my current favorite is the Icy Grass Jelly Signature C but I've had the hot version on a cooler day. The hot grass jelly doesn't have as much structure so the cold version is definitely better. The portion size is solid and it really hits the spot! You have the option to build your own if you don't like the preset options which is great. When taro is included in the dessert, while good, it's a huge chunk so after I tried it, I usually opt out now since it's not super digestible and is a bit dry (I appreciate the generosity/amount though). This is a fast casual spot so interactions with staff are usually minimal and you can place orders on one of their two kiosks (or directly with a person at the front). Other items of note, the loyalty program wasn't super straightforward to sign up for and you couldn't do it right away from the kiosk. It requires you to download the app and sign up before you could get any benefits so that was slightly frustrating since you'd miss out if you didn't have time to do that immediately. I usually go to Meet Fresh for their desserts though I have also tried their drinks. Some of their specialty drinks are nice (I tried a grass jelly slushie that was seasonal at the time and I enjoyed that a lot) but their other regular bubble tea drinks aren't particularly standout (though they are expensive). Seating is also more limited now than it used to be since the space is shared with another store that sells Chinese smoked meats and cold appetizers. I'm still a huge fan of theirs and will continue to frequent their location. They make desserts well so give them a try if you're in the area!
Came here for some Taiwanese dessert for me and mom. I got the brown sugar boba tea and hot red bean soup with taro. Love the boba texture, soft but chewy, great tea flavor. Red bean soup is very rich. Self order kiosk or you can order at the counter. The staff is very friendly. Some tables and bar tables for the customers. Most people do take out but it's a nice hang out place for friends.
Looking for a dessert place, we ordered this off of uber eats. The q milk was pretty good and refreshing. Not so sweet, and a healthy amount of taro. The caramel pudding was delicious and the mochi was the best part of our order. The boba on the side was a good touch. Unfortunately, the taro bowl wasn't very good. It tasted different to the similar dishes I've had before. I wouldn't recommend this order. Overall, not bad. I would like to try the matcha deluxe if we were to order from here again.
On Lunar New Year weekend, we stopped by Meet Fresh after our lunch. The store was somewhat clean and tidy. There was no mango items in menu again. This time we ordered couple of fruit tea, milk tea and desserts. Our items were prepared in few minutes, since there was no else in the store. The fruit and milk tea were good. My family loved their tofu pudding dessert.
(Overall: C) - Overall, I like Meet Fresh as it offers a reasonable Chinese dessert option in Jersey City. The desserts could improve in terms of execution, but is of pleasant quality to enjoy in a pinch. (Wintermelon Tea: B) - I enjoyed the flavor of this simple wintermelon tea, which gives off grassy herbal notes of healing. It was only $6, which is pretty good for tea these days, especially as this flavor has not been popularized in the city. (Matcha Egg Waffle: C) - The matcha flavor added some earthy backbone to the waffle. Listen I had the coco mochi sago drink and it was so good! I was on a layover in town and this was a new feature display. It had coconut and sago and tasted AUTHENTIC like the time I visited Taiwan. Very cutely decorated and comfortable. You order on a self service screen and the drink was prepared very fast, granted there was only three people in the shop. Will definitely look for a meet fresh in my area!
An incredibly cute place to check out. We were in the Newport area and decided to walk into the Newport mall. The outside is really inviting with clean large windows. Walking in, the vibe was a mix of a cute tea shop you'd find in Asia mixed with a coffee shop vibe. We were impressed really by the size of the menu - there was so much to choose from. We decided to order the shaved mango ice and the mango green tea slush. Overall, the taste was sweet and perfect for a hot summer day. They also have warm options on the menu and many specials that include taro. I would say the mango wasn't anything unique that I've never tasted before but still good. Next time, I'll probably check their specials that have taro, red bean, or grass jelly. They have a loyalty program so I'll definitely be ordering again!
I'm ecstatic that Meet Fresh opened in the area. It tastes great like the other locations. I typically like the tofu with peanut (can adjust sugar) and the Icy Grass Jelly Signature. Service has been hit or miss. It was really busy for a Thursday night when I had to wait 15 minutes for 2 items. One item was wrong - I ordered per the menu's Chinese name and they thought I ordered something entirely different. They made the replacement item and refunded/recharged me since there was a $ difference, but when I got home I realized I didn't get the add-on I paid for.
Meet Fresh is quite a unique and tasty place for Taiwanese dessert! I got the Double Taro Signature, which had ice cream, taro paste, taro balls (small sweet and chewy balls of taro), and grass jelly. I've seen each of these ingredients many times, but this is the only place I've seen that put them all together like this. The paste on the bottom (not 100% sure what it was) was not as tasty as the part on the top though. It was $10.25, which isn't cheap, but also isn't that bad considering the large portion size and many ingredients inside. The shop is conveniently right inside the Newport Mall. The service speed is ok and the staff are friendly. The place itself is a nice space with some seating (there are also tables in the nearby public outdoor areas). Overall, I would highly recommend Meet Fresh if you're in the mood for some Taiwanese desserts. They have an extensive menu of desserts like mine (both hot and cold) as well as drinks, so there will probably be something that appeals to you!
I really love meet fresh but really no rice balls left gosh I was so disappointed. This locations isn't good at all. There is definitely better ones out there. We were in the area and wanted to try something new. Looking online, I saw so many things that I wanted to try, like the bubble waffle, boba tea, and q mochi shaved ice. When I started ordering, I was able to get the shaved ice, but pretty much nothing else I wanted. I was told that the boba wasn't done brewing yet, and that they were not selling egg waffles at this time, which seemed like two of their main menu items from online. I just wish the online menu had reflected what was going to be in store, because I was disappointed. I had the winter melon tea and jasmine green tea instead which were both good. I enjoy the q mochi shaved ice too. I don't think I'll be in a rush to return, but I was happy to have tried something new.

Tucked away in the entrance off Washington Blvd with no parking out front, so not convenient for a quick stop if driving. Portions are hefty and prices start around $10 but can quickly add up with additional toppings. I had the hot tofu with red beans, grass jelly, and half sugar (which was sweet enough for me). Would definitely be back to try the many different options. Really hoping to catch the hot almond soup, which is seasonal. Enjoy!
Tried the new peach guava summer menu and the shaved ice was easily my favorite. The Peach Guava Shaved Ice looks simple at first, but there are so many layers hidden inside. Peach and guava jelly, almond tofu, fresh peach, and shaved ice. Every few bites I found something different. Sweet, slightly tart, and really refreshing. The Peach Guava Snow Foam was much lighter than I expected and not too creamy or heavy. The Peach Guava Green Tea was simple and refreshing. I forgot to add lychee jelly, but I definitely would next time. It gets really busy on weekend afternoons, so expect a wait or order ahead. The peach and guava combo was a nice surprise. Food (4/5): Got the Mini Q coco sago drink. It was unique compared to other drinks I've had. There was a lot of solid components like taro paste alongside the boba drink. It wasn't bad but I'm still trying to process whether I like it or not. Service (4/5): Not the friendliest but they get your order done. Stopped by Meet Fresh when leaving the mall. I often see it pretty busy in here and there are multiple sit-down tables. It is a little confusing where you are supposed to go at first - there are self-order stations on the far left and then counters right in front as well as on the right. I did appreciate that on the ordering process there are allergen symbols for things like gluten and dairy. I went with a quick bubble tea to-go. You can customize sugar and ice level which is great. I got the oolong tea ($5.50) plus boba ($0.75) which came to $6.70 after tax so on par with most Jersey City prices. read more

I usually get the Q mochi milk shaved ice (size Large), it contains Q mochi, vanilla ice cream, mini taro balls, sweet potato taro balls. Overall, the size large was a good portion for two people, definitely recommend if you want something cold and sweet. read more
Got the signature ice. The bowl was packed really full and they prepared the food quickly. Taro balls were chewy and the smashed taro got the milky creamy tastes to it. The boba was only a little sweet and got a nice texture, which is great! They really put in a lot of ice so it's not overly sweet. There's still an entire half bowl of ice at the bottom left when I finished all other ingredients. Order made right, quick service, portion ok. This branch is of good standard. Note that they have only limited menu now, like 3 choices for the 3 main dessert categories. Check for Chowbus and Panda to see their available items. I will visit again after they expand the menu to include some of my favorite (taro no.4 and other taro items). read more

One of my favorite dessert shops! This is a chain from Taiwan and they expended to a few shops in the US. This one is located on the ground floor near the passage way to the Newport mall in the north. They have a good variety of options to choose from, hot and cold, something for all seasons. My go to this there icy grass jelly signature. The store has a few seats and tables if you want to dine in. Service is a little slow and they tend to run out of some ingredients towards the end of the day. They are available on the Asian centric food delivery app: Hungry Panda. read more
Didn't realize that a dessert place was opened in the Newport mall. After seeing it, I decided to give it a try. It was pretty empty for a Saturday. I ordered the icy grass jelly signature which came with shaved ice, grass jelly, rice balls. It was not overly sweetened. A perfect dessert for a hot summer day. read more

I have been eyeing this place forever since it opened. I've been to their Manhattan location multiple times so already had a predetermined expectation of what I'm gonna get here. Have to admit, soup-y dessert isn't always my thing, I have to be in the right mood for it lol. Have tried multiple items so far: Icy Taro Ball Signature- not huge fan, felt like just eating ice with some syrup Ube & Taro Paste Signature - better than the icy one, really like the paste, the Mochi balls, and the grass jelly, but still too much ice and not enough "stuff" Red bean soup - great for the cold winter! Comforting and not too sweet and very filling! Overall, the "icy" items are bit lacking and overpriced read more

I've been missing Taiwan recently and came across this Meet Fresh location that just opened up at Newport Mall. They have an extensive menu ranging from grass jelly, taro paste, tofu fa (cold tofu dessert), bubble tea, fresh fruit smoothies, and shaved ice. I have been going almost every other day since it opened and I have still yet to try out half of their items. So far they have not disappointed me once. If this is your first time there, I highly recommend the tofu fa with sweet potato and/or taro balls. The sweet potatoes and taro balls have ground up sesame filling. I don't believe there are other dessert places that make their taros balls this way. The sweet potato/taro balls are soft and chewy just like thick mochi. Highly recommend this placeif you are also missing Taiwan. read more

I was there on 4/13 Saturday 5ish/6 in the evening. I've ordered the biggest and highest priced ($16.53 after tax) pudding and q mochi shaved iced at the kiosk for dine in and was given what appeared to be a small to-go container that was marked (m) on it with little (melting) ice and ingredients. Additionally, the scoop of ice cream was just a small dollop put in a sauce container sized cup. It was such a rip-off and a big disappointment! This is by far the worse location that I've been to especially when I have to pay $4 for parking! read more

I love their desserts but for the second time of ordering to bring home, they left out something. I made a custom ice taro ball with black sugar boba, grass jelly, and red bean and they didn't give me red bean. Please check your order in store before going home to make sure they didn't leave anything out! Reading the previous reviews, this seems to be an ongoing issue that should be addressed. read more

Super disappointing. I have visited many meet fresh stores in US and China. This one was the worst in terms of food. The shaved ice looked worse, tasted worse, and sold more expensive. I don't really understand why they used sugar instead of condensed milk/honey/caramel as the sweeter for the ice. For a $16 bowl of shaved ice, it deserved to have better texture/sweeter. I probably wouldn't visit meet fresh again as there were other similar but better alternatives in NYC/Seattle. read more
