Tasty boba drinks with a Filipino twist. They do a ube flavored milk tea which is delicious for about $5. Some other specialty drinks you can only get here including calamansi (Filipino sweet lime), mango, or guyabano (tropical white fruit) drinks. They accept credit card, and at the time of this posting, they've converted the inside seating area to a small Filipino grocery with plenty of Asian snacks. Overall 4/5 delicious Filipino tropical drinks read more

Looove having a bubble tea spot in the greater JSQ area! The babo itself is good & the tea was great. I've tried their stuff twice - once for delivery and once in store. Both really solid and the store is so cute! Definitely recommend trying out their bubble tea! read more

Yummy fruit bubble tea! I agree with other reviewers about sweetness. It is sweet but I am not bother by the sweetness. You could always adjust the sweetness with the staff. I ordered a mango mixed with pineapple (not their drink name) with black pearls in large. All drinks come in black pearls which is a bonus! It was delicious! There were a lot of options to pick from. The only complaint I have would be the pearls were all stuck together at the bottom and there is too much ice in my drink. The female owner was super sweet and nice. She would try to recommend you some drinks. The place is fairly new as it was opened about 3 months ago. I think the pricing is on the boarder line between fair and moderate. I think I would go back again to try out their fruity slushie. Would I go again? Yes, I would. read more

TL;DR: good boba, good food, great atmosphere! Could use more Filipino inspiration in the drinks (taro? Why not ube?) Beautiful art adorns the walls, hand written and drawn and not a scrawl. The place is spacious and roomy and very inviting, but there are a few things I must start highlighting. First, the Filipino inspiration is very clear in the decor, but when it comes to the food there is more to explore. The drinks are classic boba flavors, but I'd love to see something unique; maybe calamansi or taho, or mango, you see? Second, the food although yum but was probably microwaved, and tbh that's just not the kind of food I really craved. Last of all, the boba was good, certainly not the best, but I must say this cute Filipino spot still passes the test. (Bonus: Free WiFi and chargers galore) read more

Bubble tea was delicious but Bola-Bola (Asian meatballs) was awful. See photo attached. There were no sauce or vegetables and just sad looking small meatballs were on rice. Very disappointed. Don't order food from here. read more

In the last year or so it's been nice to see the trickle of new, enjoyable food places in the Five Corners/Hilltop part of Jersey City--Sagoto is the first bubble tea-dedicated spot in the neighborhood, and I'm glad it's a good one! I was pleasantly surprised to see that they had some interesting combos under their specials, with definitely a lot of Filipinx influences. I got the Ube-Mac special (ube and young coconut) as a shake and added bubbles to it. The special drinks cost a little more and are all large -- mine was $8 which was a little more than expected. That said, it was very good! They can make accommodations for sugar level --I got mine without sugar and it was plenty sweet for me. Did not look too closely at the food/snacks but might give them a try the next time I'm around. There's also a nice vibe here--lots of young people hanging out after school and making music together. It looks like they keep the instruments around and have (or plan to have) music every now and then. All in all, very glad to have this place in the neighborhood and I will definitely be back! read more

Gone are the tables, chairs, stage, and lights. The venue has been revamped due to covid-19. It is now half a mini grocery store. Still has the same great drinks and service with inspirational quotes throughout. I am blessed to have Sagoto in the neighborhood to quench my bubble tea thirst and was thrilled to see them reopen. I will continue to come here to support local businesses! read more

Great atmosphere for studying or relaxing with friends or by yourself! For drinks, we had the Newark Ave and the Ube-Mac. Both were absolutely delicious! Not too sweet-- probably one of the best bubble teas in Jersey City! For food, we had the Bola Bola Rice Bowl. Yummy! Everything was also at a great price. We're definitely coming back! Highly recommend if you're in the area. read more

The bistek Tagalog is top-notch and the pork adobo is delicious! Even the rice was perfect. I also loved their modern, bubble-tea spin on sago't gulaman and halo-halo. It looks like they used to have seating, but now they've got a Filipino grocery store instead, with all the tsitsirya you could ever want. Can't wait to go back! read more

really good bubble tea!! the atmosphere is aesthetic, comforting, and fun, not to mention the beautiful calligraphy, lights, and design of the establishment. the prices are fair and they even have tasty specials, the matcha, and thai tea are made the best here. the only thing from keeping it a 5-star rating is the taste of the tapioca balls. since tapioca is given with every drink its just as important as the tea, but the bubbles at Sagoto are not as jelly-like and have a bland taste rather than the usually slightly sweet. but other then that - great tea and it's definitely a place ill be visiting often! read more

Didn't get a chance to try... apparently the store hours have changed to 8am to 6pm. A little disappointing, it's much easier for me to get here after 6. Will have to come back sometime. read more

This is a great place to unwind and just relax! The owners are friendly and the Matcha bubble tea is great!

The drinks did not taste like normal bubble tea at all. Both of the drinks I got were really warm and had a weird taste. Not to mention the customer service was horrible. The lady at the counter was extremely rude and seemed upset that I even ordered drinks since there was a long line behind me? Overall a bad experience and I definitely won't be coming back again. read more

What a cute bubble tea cafe! Awesome decor with hand written calligraphy and inspirational quotes, adequate seating, cozy, and extremely friendly service! Ordered the Cappuccino Blitz and it was delicious! They also have milk alternatives available! I highly recommend this bubble tea cafe! read more

We ended up throwing it. we are boba drinkers and we know whats good. The thai iced tea is sour. I'm not sure if the milk was spoiled. Thai iced tea is nevee not sweet. Much more not sour! Also the buko pandan that the lady recommended wasnt edible either. It was like drinking coconut milk. No tea flavor. We also ordered regular milk tea. It also tasted weird. We ended up throwing everything. Sad. read more

I ordered three different flavored teas which were around $6 for each large tea. The tea was overly sweet and very unimpressive. For a place that advertises itself as a tea house, I am not impressed even in the slightest, especially for the price. Two stars is a generous rating. read more

The first couple of times I came here, I absolutely loved this place. I loved the food and bubble tea. I usually would go for the adobo chicken wrap or rice bowl and the arroz caldo. After my last few visits, I have been very disappointed with the place due to the inconsistency in the quality of the food. The food has been lacking in flavor and honestly seems like a completely different recipe. The arroz caldo is especially so thick and pretty tasteless. Another reason for my disappointment is the music is far from the message they are trying to convey, with music that has curse words left and right. The place has Christian bible verses around the place and seemed to have Christian values and a message, which I really loved as well. I really want this business to do well and flourish and that is why I felt compelled to write this. read more

They don't have the classic bubble tea in the menu and after I explained it and they made it, it was really poor quality and didn't taste like a bubble tea at all. read more

Came here recently for some boba. My Thai Tea Bubble Tea with Soy Milk tasted off and sour. Either there wasn't enough sugar or the milk was old? Maybe it would've tasted fine with whole milk, but it was sour nonetheless. Although the drinks weren't the best, the convenience store section of the shop had great stock. Lots of Filipino/Asian goods that you can't find in most stores. It's a good place to go if you're looking for those ingredients (PhilAm type stuff). read more
