It looks like they used leftover shingles from a previous job instead of purchasing new ones that matched. My main issue was a leaking valley and a leaking bedroom ceiling. They "repaired" it very poorly, despite charging me $4,050. I wouldn't be surprised if it starts leaking again soon, considering the exposed nails and misplaced shingles. ( they did come to lay the shingles better by leaving EXPOSED nails which will soon cause a leak and didnt want to change the shingles to color match ) I also paid them $500 to seal my roof hatch, which I understood was a temporary fix--but that repair didn't even last a month before leaking again. When I called them, they quoted me $1,500 to remove the hatch and said they would credit the $550 toward that job. Two weeks later, I followed up by email, and the price suddenly jumped to $3,500. Their final email said, "You want to play games--let's go!" What does that even mean? Is he threatening to come to my home and start a fight? I'm reporting this message to the police in case they attempt anything. I did my research and contacted several contractors who made appointments to visit and provide a quote. Needless to say, most weren't interested I guess, because several didn't show up after making appointments or when they did their quotas were ridiculously high. Eduardo of Eagle Roofing & Masonry was by far the most professional and responsive contractor I've ever dealt with and I'm a Director of Operations for a high rise! Most importantly, after completing the project, there were a couple of minor issues, but Eduardo was more than happy to come back and take care of them. Lastly, Eagle Roofing is the kind of contractor you've been looking for.

When I let Eduardo know, he went back and forth with me via text for about 39 minutes saying I used salt on the concrete. That was it, he took no accountability, just that I used salt and ruined my own walkway I spent thousands on. He then offered to see it in person (which he should have just said in the first place) and told me over and over I used salt during the winter. Anyone who knows me knows that I wouldn't use salt and in fact have been using sand. He asked to see the bag, I brought it up and then he said, I was using salt. He then asked how many people live in the building (not important, the city sidewalk doesn't look like this, neither does the walkway in the back, which is decades old). It was really weird and he took absolutely no accountability for what might have happened, as I only stated the work was not aging well. He just kept saying he did a good job, etc and that I used salt. After all of that, he said he could fix it (sir, you should have led with that). The price he gave was high and ultimately I didn't think I should have to pay more for work that didn't really hold up after 2.5 years. So just know if you get concrete work and it looks bad after a few years, he'll blame you over and over before finally offering an expensive solution.

We gave them 7 opportunities over the course of an entire year to come out and fix the issue and each time their "fix" made the leaks worse. They gaslighted us consistently saying the roof wasn't the problem and had us chasing down other issues like tuckpointing, plumbing, sliding door replacements etc and nothing helped. The damage eventually got so bad that we needed a restoration company to come open up the ceiling in 3 rooms. We finally hired a second company to do another full replacement and haven't had a single issue since then. TAR refused to take any accountability or refund us any money. All told we are out over $40,000 thanks to TAR.

While JJ wasn't the lowest, they were the most comprehensive. For example, all of the other quotes quoted the shingles and work, but JJ Construction quoted shingles, tiles, gutters, and all hardware (new fans/vents/gutters). They are highly skilled. They did not rush the project (who wants a roofer who rushes?) and cleaned up every day. Communication was excellent. They installed Class 4 shingles, which lowered my home owners insurance by 20%. I had the same concerns. Forget them. OnPoint is the real deal. We needed our 20 year old roof replaced. Three stories high, several levels, pretty steep. We had a few finicky extras to deal with - a powered skylight and some upper windows to replace, some cosmetic work on the upper fascia. Other places (and I got estimates from a half dozen others) were unenthusiastic or evasive about them. Not OnPoint. Santino came out and gave us a quick, fair estimate that was significantly lower than every competitor. Then every step of the way he and his guys were great. No nickle-and-dime, no excuses, just really good work. I could not recommend OnPoint more highly. Call them.
