IL Riccio was such a vibe. Another beautiful restaurant/nestled on the side of a cliff with spectacular ocean views and superb service. Our group of 8 were the first to arrive for the lunchtime seating. We were able to order for the table before it got super busy which it did quickly. We previewed the temptation room which is this phenomenal wine/dessert room stacked with fresh made pastries, cakes and yummy bites. The aroma alone was intoxicating in the best way. Once again we ordered nearly everything on the menu to share across the table and it was heavenly because everything tastes amazing and fresh. We had a couple bottles of wine for the table, I stuck to the rosé. Dessert from the temptation room is €36 per plate so we sent my niece and nephew to stack their plates at the end of lunch and we each tried a bite of something yummy. The view doesn't get better than this, head there early and watch the sunset at the top bar... if you love seafood this is top quality, we were show all of the freshest catches of the day and they were delicious. One of our excursions while visiting Positano was a private boat tour from Positano to Capri and around the island. Since our tour was ending around 2pm, the boat company recommend a couple of places for lunch, one of which was Il Riccio. When we arrived, a smaller boat pulled up to ours to bring us to a stairway that took us up to the restaurant- a very cool way to make an entrance. The restaurant itself was incredibly relaxing. The blue and white patio was breezy and comfortable, even in the July heat. We could have sat there all day drinking our spritzes! The food was great. It is primarily a seafood restaurant, which people seemed to be enjoying around us. I do not particularly care for seafood, but the restaurant had no problem making an off menu red-sauce spaghetti for me that was delicious. The property as a whole was a great place to spend an afternoon. The restaurant has a full beach club. We did not take advantage of it, but many other people were enjoying the lounge chair and umbrella access. The top floor also has a separate bar for people looking to enjoy the restaurant without indulging in a full mean. At the end of our meal, the restaurant was accommodating in calling a cab to pick us up and take us to our next stop. Overall, I would highly recommend for a trip to Capri, especially if you were arriving by boat. read more

I had reservations for lunch here for over a year for a large group of 16 and we were so looking forward to it given the reviews and location. We dined there on October 15, 2019. Pros - Access directly from the water was fun The views were beautiful Cons - The prices were ridiculously high with the lowest primi course being 38 euros for spaghetti with clams. A bottle of basic white wine was 60 euros. The food was average compared with other restaurants on Capri and throughout the Amalfi Coast. The staff could have cared less if we were there or not. They were not rude but were not friendly or engaging. The dessert room was a unique concept but the desserts kind of blah. Because I had another large group of 16 the next week and couldn't go back to Il Riccio because they had closed for the season, I had to choose another restaurant. I now am so glad Il Riccio was closed! We chose a restaurant with a beautiful setting and views, delicious food and the staff was fun and made our experience special. It really was the most disappointing lunch we had in Italy. I don't recommend. read more

We arrived at the restaurant via boat (which is pretty cool) as part of a tour around the island ending at the Blue Grotto, which is adjacent to the restaurant. We stayed for lunch which was delicious and came with plentiful portions. Other reviews noted the high prices, which I feel is commensurate with the upper class culture of Capri. The decor is bright and fresh with ocean blue tables crossed with white table cloth runners amidst a backdrop of wood thatch ceilings and accents of green vegetation. Every table has a view of the ocean as the layout is more wide than deep. The view of the ocean is beautiful during the day and at sunset. Not sure what there is to see at night. read more

Restaurante Il Riccio, is a cliff side restaurant located in Anticapri that is owned and operated by the five star hotel Capri Palace. It is located on the edge of a cliff overlooking the Bay of Naples and is breathtakingly beautiful. The views from the open aired restaurant (as there are no windows) are beautiful and coupled with the ocean breeze makes this restaurant one of the best places to eat in Capri. My husband and I had the caprese salad with fresh buffalo mozzarella from Campania, local region in Southern Italy, with delicious fresh Italian tomatoes; Spaghetti Vongole and Spaghetti with Sea Urchin. We paired those dishes with a delicious bottle of Gaja Langhe. The pasta at Il Riccio was by far the best we have had so far on the island. Highly recommended. read more

Right near the Blue Grotto with breathtaking views over the sea and Il Riccio already sounds perfect. Exceptional food, something you expect in very chichi restaurants yet in this very relaxed and homey atmosphere of blue painted wood chairs and open kitchen. But that is Capri for you style and relaxation combined. It should be noted that to get to Il Riccio, though part of the Capri Palace Hotel, is not in the hotel itself and requires a taxi ride to get there. From Capri it will take around 20 minutes, from Anacapri around half that time. Not a problem, and the restaurant will call for taxi service while you finish coffee to take you back. So sit back and relax and enjoy the outstanding food. The menu is modern Italian with a twist and very innovative and exciting. Most ingredients are local, so very fresh and probably just caught from the sea. Start your night with a bright blue Riccio spritz cocktail and then try items such as anchovies with cous cous, or their fresher than fresh 3-fish tartare selection. Outstanding! Make sure you leave room for dessert as they have a whole buffet to tempt you! The lemon puddings are especially good, but it is hard to beat the Rhum Baba which just oozes rum. A meal here is exceptional and I have to say one of the best meals I've enjoyed in a long time. It really doesn't get much better. read more

Locals, tourists, day trippers a gaggle of happy people. Who wouldn't be happy here? There is one room dedicated to just desserts. A well known secret is to bring your bathing suit. Because afterwards, you can go for a dip in the water, depending on the choppiness and level of the water, you can swim into the Blue Grotto, and then sun bathe on the roof and continue you food extravaganza, perhaps with bottles of champagne and sparking water to help hydrate. Il Riccio is a one star Michelin restaurant part of the Capri Palace hotel. The restaurant is located in the northern part of Anacapri, right next to the water with beautiful views. The menu is an extensive list of classic southern Italian meals, most of them with seafood. The portions were quite sizable for a restaurant of this level and I would advise to only pick an appetizer and a plate instead of the usual first course- second course affair. The plates are not shy of seafood but the flavor can be quite strong. I would have expected more of a delicate flavor for a restaurant of this level. Although the food is beautifully presented it is nothing special. If you are in Capri it is worth a visit but I would not go out of my way as you can find excellent seafood throughout the Amalfi coast and other restaurants in Capri. read more

A stunning spot on the cliff edge above the sea. A relaxed atmosphere but with sky high prices (even for Capri). Lovely food. Grilled octopus, green bean and potato salad to start with - perfectly cooked. I really enjoyed my sea urchin spaghetti (€38) - deep flavour of the sea without the hard core sea urchin tang I was a little scared of when ordering. My wife liked her red prawns and zucchini pasta dish. Beautifully cooked sea salt and herb baked fish for two (€100 for two - a price as high as the cliff). As my wife remarked, this was "delicious peasant style simple cooking at Marie Antoinette prices". (Would have been a five star review if we hadn't eaten at Bagni Tiberio the next day - even better food, an even better location, friendlier staff and just a quarter of the price.) read more

Dined yesterday afternoon at a supposed Michelin star restaurant in Capri- Il Riccio. While the service was good and wait staff friendly, the prices were astronomical and the food itself was bar none the worst meal my wife and I have had in over a week of traveling Europe- including plenty of cheap touristy spots. The "neopolitan finger food" app was simply a basket of fried food. Hard to tell exactly what we were even eating but it didn't really matter since it all tasted the same. Gross. The Gnocchi with monkfish was overcooked, slimy, and drowning in sauce- equally gross. Stay far, far away. Plenty of much better deals and it's easy to find better food from the street vendors and main street eateries in the town. read more

We went to Capri for the day from Naples, and decided to try this place as recommended by a friend. We walked from Anacapri center, which was quite an adventure through the bush. When we arrived (4 hours early, to use the beach club and swim) we were shown to a spot on the deck and set up with towels and cabana. They were really nice and accommodated all our desires...brought cocktails, umbrellas etc. We are not big on the Capri scene and really just wanted a day to relax and enjoy the sea, good food and each other. I read it was a Miche lin starred restaurant, but the food wasn't on par with other Michelin restaurants I've been to. That's why only four stars. The food was very good, but I've had better seafood in Naples and Pozzoli. The view is perfect though, right on the sea, and we had a perfect day. read more

I heart a lot about Il Riccio so I had to try it . The food was ok other than the uni pasta everything else tasted fresh but lacked flavor. They didn't use enough Salt so most of the food was bland. The service was great and the restaurant has a great view. The dessert room AKA the temptation room was very good. I wanted to come here for the beach club but it was fully booked so we came for dinner instead. They are opening one in Miami and Dubai so I'll be trying the Miami location when it opens ! read more

Wow! Just wow! No one pretends this is a cheap place to eat but we really thought this was good value. The selection of fish antipasti was just exquisite, bringing 5 ample sized dishes including a fabulous tartar of a local white fish (sorry forget the name), amazing potato and totano (red squid) dish and my favourite- a grilled octopus cooked to perfection. For mains we had the linguine served with a half lobster and frutti di mare and a "spiedino di pesce". Both were out of this world! The pasta was fabulous without the lobster, but the crustacean was cooked so delicately, with tonnes of tender flavoursome claw meat that really added to the dish and took it to that higher level. A skewer of octopus- grilled to perfection, tuna cooked medium rare, a whitefish with crispy skin but only just cooked through (to my delight!), a sweet delicious scallop and the tastiest grilled king red shrimp served on a bed of fabulous Mediterranean vegetables with pine nuts and basil and a large shot of palate cleansing gazpacho was the other main course and one I'd recommend to anyone. We finished by heading to the "Sala delle tentazioni" and picking a selection of local pastries and sweet bites. This place knows what it's doing and does it brilliantly with views out over the bay of Naples to Ischia and sitting next to the entry to the Grotta Azzurra- not one to miss! read more

Food prices were insane and honestly the food was just mediocre. Basically if u are looki. To spend 200 euros for a lunch that is just ok then this is the place for you lol. Nothing extravagant. The Location was alright but that's about all that I can say. To start off, the dining area had a very fake and touristy vibe. Il Riccio possessed no special ambience or je ne sais quoi that the other restaurants of Capri all capture perfectly. The staff was very inattentive, getting orders wrong, not bringing more water or wine, and rarely checking in with us. The worst by far, however, was the food. The fish was not cleaned well at all, over cooked, and dry. My Blue Lobster and Taglitelle pasta was perhaps the worst of all. The Lobster was void of all tail meat and was missing a pincher. Of what lobster I did have it tasted dry and grainy. The pasta was undercooked and therefore inedible. To finish up I had a cappuccino that wasn't half bad although it did taste overextracted, the milk helped conceal the bitter taste. Il Riccio's only redemptive quality perhaps was the sunset, but then again, even better sunsets can be seen from several restaurants in Capri thag also posses food and service 100 times better than that of the sad and lowly Il Riccio. If you visit Capri do not dine here I am writing this review as a warning for all tourists not to fall into the nasty tourist trap of Il Riccio as I did.
