Okay if you're feeling lazy and don't want to leave the hotel, but prepare to pay a bit more. There is a 10% discount if you are staying at the hotel. The food doesn't measure up to other spots in Positano. I had the Spaghetti with Zucchini (€24) as a first-timer and was underwhelmed. I will assume other local restaurants do it better since the sauce did not impress. Spaghetti with clams (€30), Lobster and ricotta ravioli with thyme, yellow cherry tomatoes and lupins (€40) and Grilled lamb chops with roasted potatoes and vegetables (€35) were 3 other dishes we ordered. Spaghetti and lamb were good. Not big fans of the ravioli because of the sauce again. The service was incredibly quick and attentive-definite 5 stars in this area. On our last night in Positano we made a reservation at Buca di Bacco. This is the restaurant on the top floor of a bar and another restaurant on the ground floor. The top floor restaurant is the one I am talking about. The views from the front windows are excellent. But the view is only a bonus. We were greeted and sat right away. Someone immediately came over and offered us water and menus. The sommelier came over and she was very helpful in selecting a great and affordable wine to go with our meal. They started with a mini pizza as a complimentary appy. It was nice to offer it, but it was not as special as every other course we were served. We started with the Zucchini Flowers - pictured. These were so delicate and delicious. Very glad we ordered them. I got an Amalfi coast staple dish, Spaghetti and clams - pictured. This one was my favorite version of this dish of the three times I got it at different restaurants in the Amalfi coast. My wife got the gnocchi - also pictured. It is vegetarian and also was delicious. The service was always fast and helpful with any questions. This is a highly recommended place for a special dinner. read more

We got some pastries here. Despite the fact that it was in the heart of positano, their prices were a lot more reasonable than a few other bakeries. The pastry quality was on par with other bakeries. In general, they're just too sweet. Service was good but we went very early in the morning so no lines. And of course it's right on the water so great views. It did the job. read more

Even though this is a hotel restaurant, my husband and I loved our experience at Buca di Bacco. We got seated near the window and enjoyed our view of the water. We ordered the grilled octopus, fried zucchini flowers, and lobster linguine to share. I was shocked at the grilled octopus--we just came from Athens & Santorini, and this was the most tender octopus we had! I loved the pairing with burrata too. The fried zucchini flowers were light and delicious. I love the ricotta, and who can resist fried food? The lobster linguine was out of this world!!! The flavor was on point, and the pasta was perfectly al dente. They even split the plate for us because they knew we were sharing. Service was very friendly. 5 stars for the hotel, 4 stars for the restaurant! There is a lot to like about the restaurant attached to the Buca di Bacco hotel. First off, the location cannot be beat. It's very close to the beach and their view and ambiance is very pleasant. It's also one of the few places that will let you sit with out a reservation. The menu has some gems on it, but it's typical Amalfi coast Italian fare. You won't find pizza or paninis, but they have some nice seafood, meat, and pasta options. We really liked the octopus and burrata and the lemon risotto with red shrimp. Both very solid dishes that were better than expected based on other reviews. This wasn't the best meal we had is Positano, but a really solid dinner we were happy to enjoy on our first night in Italy. read more

I ordered the gnocchi, absolutely fabulous and the tomatoes sauce was so flavorful it was like a sweet and savory explosion in my mouth. My father got the club sandwich, it came with egg on it but he really enjoyed it. My mom got eggplant parm. She loved it. Here's the thing though, food was amazing, but the portions were pretty small. It said it was a place for lunch but their menu only had five options which is not really something you really find in Italy. We sat on the deck and it was great until they started rolling up the shades above us that were protecting us from the sun. This restaurant is in an amazing location in Positano near the main beach, which makes it very easy to get to. It also has stunning views from inside, so I would highly recommend making a reservation and getting a table near the windows. We arrived early in the evening and ordered some wine paired and pasta dishes. We tried the shrimp risotto and ravioli which were both tasty, but very overpriced for the portion size. When we asked for the bill, the waiter was very surprised that we didn't order anything more, and after paying for our bill in euros, he asked us if we wanted any change, and then proceeded to get visibly annoyed when we said "yes". My husband and I had our first meal in Positano on the beachfront at Buca di Bacco. It was recommended to us by a few locals we met along our Italian honeymoon. This hotel restaurant opens at 7:30pm so we toured the nearby shops until then. Totally worth the wait as we were the first customers and got seated immediately. To start off, we ordered the grilled octopus with artichoke, burrata cheese, and balsamic vinegar. So good and perfectly tender. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. If that weren't enough, my entrée was steamed baccalà with capers, olives, cherry tomatoes, and mashed potatoes. Salty cod goodness. We didn't have room for wine or dessert but just wanted to enjoy our first hot meal in awhile since we'd been traveling. I slept happily that evening after eating what would be one of my favorite meals in Positano. I would have come back here again if we had a few more days of vacation. Overall had a very nice experience here at Buca di Bacco! We did not have a reservation and were able to walk right in and get a table with a view (please note this was not during peak season). For appetizers we got grilled octopus and a fried ravioli, both were decent but not amazing. The fried ravioli was more just like a traditional ravioli entree with marinara sauce, which was tasty just not what we were expecting. For main entrees we got the lobster pasta and swordfish and both were good, just compared to some other meals we had on the trip it was not our favorite! Generally pretty pricy for the value of the food. I will say another family we met on our trip had a gluten allergy and they were extremely accommodating, so much so they went there several times because of how nice the staff was so if you are traveling and are looking allergy accommodations this would be a great option. read more

After a month traveling, I am not ashamed to say that I was craving a little American-resembling food, and Bucca Di Bacco delivered. It was still amazing Italian food but I was able to order chicken, which you just don't find on the menu that often! So when I saw the chicken parmigiana, I ordered. I added a Cesar salad, and it was SO GOOD. My husband found his only vegan option (pasta pomodoro with french fries, bless his heart) and we were all truly happy! Going to the restroom was fun- apparently this was a fancy restaurant and I didn't know it...they have photos of all the celebrities that have visited this restaurant since the 50-60's. Is this place touristy? Yes. Is it a bit pricey? Yes. But they also put out some damn good dishes and boast the best views overlooking the Positano marina along the Amalfi coast. I can also count on them to consistently offer my favorite summertime treat--stuffed zucchini flowers. In the US, we sell a lot of zucchini, but the prized flowers go to waste. Here in Positano, these delicate treasures are stuffed with burrata, fried golden brown, and served with local greens and tomato then drizzled with olive oil. On my most recent visit, we also enjoyed some other excellent entrees. Scallops on white bean purée. Tender sea scallops seared to perfection served on top of silky white bean purée, with greens and (you guessed it) extra virgin olio. Truly memorable dish. Turbot filet. Slow cooked turbo crusted with golden garlic potato purée. This tender local white fish melts in your mouth. Excellent flavor. I usually like the skin left on the fish, however this skin was a bit thicker and rubbery, and would be better removed prior to serving. The house red and white are excellent. Wifi available. Buca di Baco sits right on the beach so we went here right after a swim. I was hesitant to eat at this restaurant because I was worried about it being too "touristy". But since has spent so much time swimming, we were starving and didn't want to work too hard to find good food. I had watched some vlogs on YouTube that mentioned Buca di Bacco as a good restaurant in Positano. I was pleasantly surprised. No only did we have a great view and good service, but the good was pretty decent. I ordered the fruitti di mari pasta and my husband had a Margherita pizza. My seafood pasta had all kinds of exotic looking sea critters like razor clams and funny squid. And that made me very happy because I didn't travel to the Amalfi coast just to eat basic sea critters. My husband's pizza was just as good as you would expect for a margherita pizza. If you're reading this then most likely you're headed to Positano (or in Positano and found some WiFi to use). You're paying for one thing and one thing only, the view. Fortunately there are much better restaurants in Positano with similar views, better in fact. The service was poor, inattentive, and unfriendly. The pasta undercooked and hard. I was unable to cut the steak with a steak knife due to what I originally thought was fat but must have been a tendon as I couldn't saw through it no matter how hard I tried. It was also drenched in a far too strong red wine reduction which overpowered the steak and vegetables. Sent it back and they said it would be removed from the bill yet there it was when the check arrived. Overall one of the worst Italian dinners ever had anywhere. Just another typical tourist trap as you might expect for it's location. read more

Our class included eggplant, gnocchi w/pesto, pizza, and a chocolate citrus cake. The meal is then served to you in the adjoining restaurant. After one night in Naples, we spent the remainder of the week in Positano staying at the Hotel Buca Di Bacco which is in a great location. It's right in the center of Positano, on the beach and close to shops and restaurants. Overall, I loved the property. The breakfast buffet is extensive and includes both hot and cold items. There's a great machine that juices oranges on demand (3 oranges per glass) so you can have fresh blood orange juice each morning. Buca Di Bacco does not have a pool, spa, or exercise room while others nearby of the same caliber do. The king room we stayed in was simple but just right in size and amenities, bed and linens were quite comfortable. There's a mini bar and the bathroom has a bidet. I did notice there was no full length mirror in our King room, which wasn't terrible but just seemed odd for it to be missing when there was so much attention to detail in other areas. The turn down service was lovely and would even replace your towels again if you had showered after the day service made up the room. The best thing about our room though (39) was the view! read more

I cannot speak to the quality of the dinner at this place because the appetizer was so bad that I left. Upon entering this place, you are easily seated in the restaurant with a gorgeous view. Aside from that they don't really have too much to offer. We ordered a sampler plate of their deep fried specialties and it was completely tasteless and each bite was worse than the previous. Their bread appetizer was bad as well. Their other food seemed to lack as well from what we could see. From the outside it looks like a great place to eat but the octopus was slimy. One of the worst octopus I've ever had. My daughter usually eats all of the food but this time she ate less than half of the spaghetti. My son only ate the French fries and the chicken was very cheesy and he didn't like it. The steak was also kind of mushy and had a lot of extra salt. The lemon risotto nothing special, I think that even I can make it.
