Seafood dish
Stacey G.

Came here for a nice dinner with my husband. I really like the ambiance. I recommend a reservation on the weekends. The staff were very friendly, but it did take a while to order. The food was good. They start with bread and focaccia. After you order they serve a plate of mini bruschetta, salami and zucchini chips - if I had known they were serving that I would have asked for no salami. I ordered the spinach pear salad to start - it was good but not that exciting, I think I would have preferred sharing the butternut squash or mushroom ravioli. For my entree I ordered the pan roasted Salmon with a champagne mustard sauce which was delicious. My husband ordered one of the massive seafood dishes with pasta in saffron tomato broth - he said it was kind of bland and some of the mussels and scallops were chewy and didn't taste fresh so decided not to eat those. For dessert we had the apple dish which was delicious. Overall a nice dinner we will definitely be returning! If you're looking for a nice dinner that you can stretch out, come here - they don't kick you out.

Everything here is amazing. First of all, the wait staff is exceptional. Very attentive. All of the dishes are authentic Italian and we have never had a bad entrée here.

Outstanding food at this Madison mainstay. It's a storefront spot with parking in a lot to the side. There are 8 tables in a separate area behind a half wall on the left, and a main dining area with about a dozen tables to the right. BYOB. This is an old-school white linen tablecloth place, decor intimate and muted. Reservations honored to the minute. Service is excellent, platoon-style. Orders taken accurately and served as ordered. Time from order to service a quick 10 minutes, and the meal was paced perfectly from appetizer to main course. Wine glasses kept full in an unobtrusive way. Very professional. Thank you! Enjoyed cheese and olive plate served at seating. This is followed by a plated complimentary appetizer of bruschetta and medley of thick cut salami, roasted zucchini, mushrooms and basil. Delicious. We tried a couple of appetizers. Meatballs - double golf-ball sized, moist and tender, smothered with luscious tomato sauce. Carpaccio - a mound of arugula topped and surrounded by paper-thin sliced beef, swirled with olive oil and lemon juice, with a dollop of pesto on the side and garnished with broad thin slices of parmigiana. The arugula made the dish - a tart complement to the sweet, succulent beef. Entrees are outstanding. Gamberi all Acetosella is butterflied shrimp, topped with prosciutto then sauteed with fresh chunks of tomato, shallots, spinach and lemon, served with a whole red potato and stewed carrot half. The shrimp/prosciutto combo is wonderful - salty and sweet. The vegetables add an earthy tone. A delicious and unique prep. Also tried shrimp fra diavolo. Six big tails-on shrimp, sauteed with fire-roasted tomatoes, olive oil and basil, served over linguine. The shrimp perfect - a nice crunch to each bit, crisp and not mealy. Just enough red pepper flakes to tingle the taste buds, but not make your nose run. Linguine perfectly al-dente. The only nit is the tails-on. It's a pain to un-tail on the plate, especially when being careful not to soil the white linen on the table. Always room for dessert! The house-made tiramisu is to die for. The luscious cake is Amaretto-soaked for a unique flavor. Beautiful and rich mascarpone slathered generously, sprinkled with cinnamon. This is as good as I've had. We were also treated to a complimentary dessert - a plate of sliced strawberries surrounded by champagne cream. Berries plump and tart/sweet; cream sweet and custard-like. A great way to end a delicious meal. Recommended!

Visited this restaurant for lunch and the prices are great for all the food you get. Service was nice - our waiter was very attentive. The food was okay, portions are large. If you like italian food you can give it a try!

For $125/person, I had expected better tasting food though. The small appetizers (spinach salad, prosciutto, Parmesan, olives) may have been put together from a grocery store. For the pasta that we rolled out, the staff only added a plain tomato sauce. The side of vegetables was overcooked and mushy. Tiramisu was all right. We can blame the taste and texture of the pasta on ourselves, because we made it, but I had expected the rest of the food prepared by professionals to be better. No drinks were included -- Healthy Italia is BYOB. There was a nice intro video from the owner telling us about her history and philosophy. She said that she doesn't measure ingredients, and only mixes by feel. How does one teach a cooking class like this? If someone is taking a cooking class, they are less experienced and need precise measurements and instructions. Our flour and water were measured for us, so I guess they do measure something. We were never told the measurements, so didn't have any recipe or any specific learnings to take home. I enjoyed the social time with my group, and especially the long table set out for our group in true Italian fashion. It made us feel like a big cohesive family. However, for $125/person, I felt like we could have had a true learning experience elsewhere or had a much better Italian dinner at a restaurant with drinks. In fact, on the subsequent evening, a few individuals from our group went to a restaurant and ordered similar items served at this cooking class, and the food was remarkably better. And yes, it was less than $125/person with drinks.

We took time to walk the whole downtown. Very beautiful neighborhood. From outside, it may look like a small place, but when you enter you will be amazed. We had an opportunity to meet the owners (husband and wife), nice Italian couple. They were very welcoming and they love to talk to their customers about Italy and Italian food. We, along with our friends ordered Burrata, Caprese, Eggplant Rollatini, Fusilli con melanzane aromatizzate ai capperi, Frutto di granseola finta, Margherita Pizza, recommended drinks by servers (Merlot and Pinot Grigio), Tiramisu, Cappuccino, etc. Food quality and taste was excellent. They have a very nice bar and a big wine list to select. Prices may be high, but L'Allegria is worth, each penny! It is Fine dining!! I recommend this restaurant and will go back when we visit North New Jersey. Dress appropriately. It is a classy place!

They've been at this location for five years, but their roots run much deeper in Morristown--and you can feel it in every detail. From the start, the atmosphere was welcoming and refined, and the energy in the room was lively without ever being loud. Families, friends, nice mix. The staff was phenomenal, and the owner himself made the rounds, greeting guests table to table like it was Sunday dinner at his own home. We kicked things off with meatballs, calamari, fried zucchini sticks, and fresh bread--simple, classic, and done exactly right. The olive oil for bread dipping had full cloves of roasted garlic, absolutely delicious. For dinner, we had a spread: * Eggplant Parmigiana - tender, rich, and perfectly layered, over a bed of pasta * Chicken Parmigiana - crisp, juicy, and deeply satisfying, our son's favorite * Spaghetti Carbonara - creamy, balanced, and not overly heavy * Penne alla Vodka - a comfort dish done with precision, just right. The authenticity stood out in every bite--you could tell this is a kitchen that cooks with pride and history. The portions were generous and we can't wait to eat the leftovers. The crowd was a great mix, and the overall vibe felt elevated without being pretentious. We went with my soulmate and one of our adult children, and it was the kind of meal you look forward to repeating. Final word: -Highly recommend. - Would absolutely return. Guerriero's is the kind of place where tradition meets hospitality, and it hits the mark on every level. A true gem in Morristown.
