We went to Bistro 46 recently in Morristown and really enjoyed it! It's a byob with great service and they happily accommodated our party of 10. As we looked at the menu hot fresh bread and complimentary crostini with tomato were brought to the table. We ordered a bunch of appetizers.. our favorite was the sushi tuna pizza on the specials menu it was super fresh and tasty. The fried calamari, mussels and burrata were also awesome. My husband got the shrimp scampi special over pasta he really enjoyed it and I got the Norwegian salmon which was cooked beautifully and served with roasted butternut squash and zucchini along with a spinach pesto. I also got a pic of my friend's chicken scarpariello which he loved. Definitely a restaurant we will go back to! read more

It was a lovely 80 degree yesterday. My dining companion and me ate outside and had a lovely early dinner. We started with the burrata and roasted red pepper appetizer. It was creamy and soft. I ordered the shrimp,and arugula salad with julienned fresh mango, dried cranberries, candied walnuts, feta and a lime cilantro vinaigrette. Delicious. Every bite. We ordered cappuccino and the owner brought us really flavorful amaretti cookies. Lovely day, lovely meal. Right choice. read more

Nice place - 7 of us had lunch here before a show. They gave us a nice large round table which I love! Wine was opened promptly & they gave us a nice bread basket & after we ordered, complimentary bruschetta which was delish! Most people in our group ordered the Harvest salad w/chicken which looked amazing & the soup of the day (NE Clam Chowder). Two people got the salmon which they enjoyed & I got the burrata app - it was OK....I've had better. Service was excellent! Finding the bathroom is a little bit of a challenge! BYO - the way to go! It came out smothered in vodka sauce... was overpowering and in my opinion not what it should be paired with esp for $38... look into other places Bistro 46 that serve it with more of a brown butter sauce... when I asked to speak to the manager chef they said that sounds like a good idea... he definitely did NOT look convincing but sketchy... wont be back ... read more

The sautéed mussels with sausage was great. The broth was tasty with a little bit and worked well with bread. I had Norwegian Salmon with roasted zucchini and squash with pesto sauce. A nice combination; the salmon was a little over cooked and could have used a bit more salt. It was nice sitting outside. I got here an hour before closing. The service was very good. Food was very good. Service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Dining room is comfortable and relaxing.

I expected a lot better from the service and food. We waited for an hour and a half and still hadn't received our main courses. We had to get our food to go because it started to rain and they had sat us outside without putting up an umbrellas or heaters. Even though we got seated as soon as we got there, it took a while for us to get menus and then they had to take the menus back because the menus were the wrong ones. Braised pork was too salty. Ceaser salad was a step above grocery store bagged salad. Mussels were actually quite good though. But, overall will not be going back. read more

Came for a quick lunch break with my boss and it wasn't busy at all. The food was amazing, i loved the complimentary hors d'oeuvres that they serve as part of the starter and dessert, very nice touch. Quiet restaurant with really good lighting and spacing. I enjoyed my penne vodka though the sandwiches did look amazing when they came out. The chocolate brownie for dessert was also the cherry on top of a great evening. I would give 3.5 stars overall - nothing was wrong with the dinner I had there but nothing really stood out. As soon as we were seated, our server made sure to open wine, and, when we were ready for specials, made sure to be clear and loud for everyone at the table to hear. The decor itself is cute - a bit scattered but it feels homey. The restaurant itself is quaint - we came in winter so they had the fantastic igloo tables on the patio. The bathrooms are a bit awkward to find.. you have to go through a door, down the stairs, and through more doors. If youve had some wine, finding your way back may pose to be a challenge! The food itself was just okay. We did a few of their specials (a sushi pizza, burrata, calamari). I went with the special for dinner - scallops on risotto and my husband went off menu and they happily made him chicken parm even though its not on the menu. My husbands food looked lovely - a big portion and piping hot. I asked how it was and he said it was good (but then said its hard to mess up his favorite meal). Unfortunately mine was a bit underwhelming. My scallops were the size of a quarter (I was expecting the larger diver sized scallops but these looked closer to bay scallops) and the risotto was stiff (not gooey and spreadable). Everything had good flavor and wasn't over/under seasoned, so I truly have no complaints other than I had silly assumptions I should have clarified when I ordered. Overall - we'd come again and try some different things. I loved that they had specials. They had a very welcoming vibe and I could tell big parties and kids were welcome (as we saw both during our time there). read more

The menu is well rounded and it made it hard to choose because everything sounded fantastic. When we eventually ordered we were all very happy with our choices, food was delicious. Our server was just wonderful, knowledgeable, friendly, helpful. Knew the menu inside and out. We were there for lunch, so it was relatively quiet while we were there, and there was no pressure to vacate after we were done with our dessert. What a pleasant experience all around. I have a friend out in NJ. I'm from NYC so I drove out to her to catch up. We choose this spot because they had enclosed igloos for outdoor dining. I'm always a little skeptical of igloos and outdoor heating elements but to my surprise their igloos were actually warm! So warm in fact that when the sun showed face for a few minutes we felt baked and had to open the zipper door for a minute. You could've dined inside. At 11:30 am we were pretty much the first in the building. Anyways, they had some really good sounding specials. Typically I don't pay attention to the specials because I wonder whether or not restaurants are just trying to get rid of ingredients but Bistro 46 had some really creative twists on standard fare. They had a shrimp bisque that sounded great by description and actually tasted great when we got it. It's the perfect thing to warm you up on a cold winter day. Baked bread was provided on the side and then we were brought some Bruschetta, compliments of the chef. We followed that up by trying their huge empanada. Everyone raves about it for good reason. Order one to split in case you don't want to be too stuffed for your entrée. Our entrees included their chicken sandwich and the fettucine which was really rich! Our server Adolpho was ready with extra cheese and pepper for me. My companion saw how cheesy the fettucine was and wondered aloud why I wanted more cheese. I told her (and Adolpho) that I was starting a diet and exercise regimen tomorrow, so that was my last hurrah. Adolpho would remember this later, making sure to suggest dessert since I was going to "fitness jail" the next day. I asked him why he was trying to sabotage me. His answer was that he was going to let me have fun today but report me to my companion if he saw me at the Bistro tomorrow. The exchange resulted in our selection of the White Chocolate Salted Caramel Cheesecake *Chefs Kiss*... Touché Adolpho, Touché lol. Another update. We've thoroughly enjoyed our many meals at B46, but last night was our 1st time getting take-out. Our food was carefully packed and still hot when we opened it. They labeled everything and even thanked us for our order on the lid of one of our entrees. We had the short rib and cheese ravioli in a vodka sauce and it was delicious. The restaurant was busy - lots of people in a hurry to get to a show - some of which were not so nice to the staff because they were in a big hurry. I've passed by this place a bunch of times and always wanted to see what was going on. The summer especially looks inviting with their outdoor patio area in the front. In the winter they do have the igloos! Only about 4 of them. Very cute though. Inside is pretty simple - lots of basic photos on the walls that give "HomeGoods" vibes: a close up of a glass of wine, a snapshot of a field which you would imagine to be Italy. I wouldn't say it felt inviting- almost felt a little "cold" due to the lighting and the lack of decor and paint color. Service, on the other hand, was very warm and welcoming. Very friendly people that check in on you. Food came out fast and was hot. I had the penne vodka with chicken. I'm not a fan of "chunks/cubes" of chicken in my pasta- I like strips/slices. So the chicken wasn't my favorite. The pasta was al dente and sauce was pretty tasty. I can't say I would return because I feel there are better options around, but I would consider coming back to sit outside for a patio lunch in the spring/summer. BYOB. read more

We absolutely loved it here, the food is great, but the reason for the deduction of one star is the ambience. The inside definitely needs some updating. It seems like they tried to put a modern twist on it but it didn't work. We would definitely sit outside in the igloos next time. For appetizers, we highly recommend the empanadas. They were amazing! Bistro 46, we meet again. Once upon a time B46 was a hidden gem on route 46 in Netcong. The food and service was excellent and I was happy to keep this little secret to myself. Welp, it's not so secret anymore. Since moving to Morristown, B46 is still the same great restaurant I remember it to be. They still offer their complimentary bruschetta and they're still BYOB, but now they have a great location in Morristown that includes a patio for outdoor dining. The menu features several American and Italian classics. What has always set them apart is how well everything is executed - from the food down to the service. Calamari is always fresh and crisp, braised short ribs are still fall-apart tender, and chicken milanese is thin, perfectly seasoned and fried. So happy to see these guys flourish in their new location! A loyal gal like me will be back again. read more

Friends and I had a 6:00 reservation for dinner last night as we were going to the 8:00 show around the corner at MayoPAC. We arrived at 6:02 and everything after was a disaster. The hostess was all frazzled and kept telling us she would be with us shortly. We finally got seated at 6:15. We reminded the waitress that we were going to the show which she was aware of. After placing our order it took 15 minutes for bread and water to come to the table. We ordered one salad to share as an appetizer as we wanted to really just have our dinners. The salad did not come until 6:50 and at 7:40, nearly an hour later, we were still waiting for our entrees. One friend is a diabetic and expressed his concern as he really needed to eat but his concern fell on deaf ears. We politely asked our waitress and even the hostess when our food was coming. Everyone just kept nodding and avoiding us. Thus, we had to leave at 7:45 to go to the show after never even having dinner. After a very disappointing, to say the least, experience we all just had to buy some chips at the theater to eat for dinner. What a total nightmare! We are understanding people and perhaps if they at least explained the problem we could have come to some sort of a resolution. Instead they were just arrogant and rude as we left the establishment. read more

The restaurant has a large beautiful room downstairs which is a great space for a small to medium crowd... we had 35 guests. The menu had so many delicious selections, and the food was outstanding! Beautiful patio service out front under the stars. Enthusiastic friendly staff. Very good Italian standards like caesar salad, chicken milanese, pappardelle with short rib bolognese. Entrees at dinner cost $23-32. Bring your own. Make a reservation. Sliced white and brown bread arrived with plenty of butter, we also received bruschetta with our apps. Arugula salad was excellent, fresh greens and great dressing. Definitely a fan of the cauliflower app, perfectly roasted veg and the cream sauce on top was yummy. My frutti de Mare was a big pile of calamari, mussels, shrimps and a couple clams on linguini, good but not quite great. My dining companion's chicken milanese was crispy, topped with arugula and onions, plus they gracefully substituted fries for roasted potatoes, mmmm fresh french fries can't be beat in a pandemic. If you have kids the tables in/on the street are fine cos the little ones can run on the sidewalk without bothering anyone, otherwise ask for a table by the building where the ground is level and the passing cars are not so darn close. Vegetarian rating: 3 stars for the eggplant rollantini and cauliflower apps, salads, the fettuccine primavera and veggie risotto, you can have a proper dinner here just fine. Bistro 46 replaced Fiore in this location. Similar food & similar prices but MUCH nicer people. read more

It was the first time for both of us, we were both so nervous... She wouldn't make eye contact, but deep down I knew she wanted it real bad. My palms were getting sweaty.
